I’ve had same issue with ordered material from HD and Lowe’s so started ordering from a local lumberyard. Price is a little more, but when you factor in the bad boards and headache of going through all the boards it is worth the added cost.
A hole saw works well for cutting for the recessed lights. 4-1/8 fits most recessed cans.
This is the second time I've seen wood on ceilings first time was in person and I wasn't sold on it, but it didn't look bad. This time has me even more convinced it's a good way to go. Thanks for sharing the days of hard work you've put into this 👍
What a great shop. Can’t wait to see it finished
I've been watching the series as I'm doing the same in Canada. I would have loved if there was a video on the electrical and plumbing!
Another great tutorial Stefani! Thank you so much to you and your husband!
I'm getting anxious to see the completed interior of the shop. I bed its going to be magnificent!
It looks amazing, I love the look of if beadboard. It's nice that you show details of your install and materials used; I really like your videos & style.

Great Video.... I'm really loving the look of your ceiling.... 🙂
Thank you for the video. Motivational for me to do my shop
Love it
Would be curious to hear your two’s opinions on the Milwaukee and Ryobi Brad nailers. A couple pros and cons of ea and which you preferred over the other. Well done on the ceiling! It looks great.
I installs lot of that in north Florida
Great video, thank you! How long was your ceiling in total length? I want to install T&G pine or cedar on a peak ceiling like yours. My ceiling is 15'4" long, I am considering to purchase 16' boards, cut to exact length and make no end to end joints or should I go with shorter lengths of boards and have some end to end joints? What is your suggestion on board lengths for a 15'4" ceiling?
The ceiling looks like it takes more time, but I'd consider this over drywall.
how do you know all this cool stuff!
Not only is the shop going to be a great space, it's also going to be a beautiful one. I'm so jealous. Just one question, as another female DIYer, do you find the battery powered nail guns to be so heavy that you get a lot of fatigue, especially when working overhead? I've thought about replacing all my pneumatic guns with battery powered ones, but every time I'm at the store and I pick up one of those, I'm just astounded by the weight difference. Cheers!
No gaps between wall and the plank? When it gets a little bit of moist it can brake or bend…
@stefani could you please include the link to the bead baords on home depot website?
Yes, here you go! bit.ly/45n4FkG
How long did this take the two of you to complete?

The extra cut @ the lighting fixture…why?
Why not put in a dust collection system?
Should have put finish on them on the ground
In and ideal world, I think she would have she just didn’t have the room to do that
To install this T&G pine ceiling, in order to meet code you must first installl a fire retardant material... Most people will have drywall installated and joints taped but not finished.
Where you seeing this 5/8 drywall at. And if not drywall under it how about mineral wool insulation instead?
Fantastic work Stefani, love how everything is coming together and really enjoying following along on the build on Instagram.
