Well done Liam!
Tell Steve to give some more face time!
Looks like camera man got lucky with a free trip and booze and filet minion and lobster.
Filet mignon
Maybe if you weren’t such a stoner during high school you might have actually made something of yourself, enough to be respected to a level that you too would get invites by manufacturers to see their products. But alas, you just ain’t that bright.
@@Zanderthelab😂😂😂
Do minions taste like chicken?
I can't understand the purpose of self-driving on ANY vehicle. I really want self-cleaning laundry.
It’s awesome in freeway. Also for long drives. I can live without it but if car has it then I use it
How about a self cleaning body? Now we’re talking.
I’m no executive but if I wanted my company to sell a certain something and increase the volume, I’d make it easier to buy. They should make the PowerBoost available on all trims especially on the off road model. That’s a campers ideal engine for their accessories and for mpg when off in the middle of nowhere.
I think ford is doing it for sales. If powerboost come to tremor then there goes raptor sales. I was thinking why not f250/350 with 7.2kw ? That would be game changer for sure. But I don’t think ford wants to do it
Same with the pro access tailgate. Put it on the work truck versions for people that actually need it.
Great job filling in man... Much Thanks to you !
Thanks to you for watching! -Liam
Awesome video! Great job on the details and the interview! Wish that cool new off road screen was on my 2023 Tremor!
Thanks for stopping by! -Liam
I have a 2021 Powerboost and I love it. It took awhile to get used to the engine coming on and turning off but the fuel mileage and power benefits won me over. I think Ford should be able to reach their goal. I believe they should enhance the warrantee on the hybrid components to 5 year/60,000 miles. I think that would put more people at ease when shopping for a new F150. I've had no issues with mine but I was a little nervous at first. I can't imagine it will be cheap to fix issues with this hybrid system.
Good detailed video. Thanks
You're welcome!
Very professional and informative review. Enjoy your delivery. Keep up the good work. Truck King is fortunate to have you on their team.
I appreciate the kind works, thanks for watching. -Liam
Good job Liam…. I think there is room to grow the channel with you.
Thanks dude! -Liam
Need a PowerBoost Ranger. Be awesome if that combination would give the Ranger about 30mpg!
Great review Liam! I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I really like the looks and capabilities of the Tremor, I also like the features of the HUD and Blue Cruise. I’m a little torn between the step tail gate and the split tail gate. I don’t plan on towing a lot but love the easy access to the bed, although the step tail gate seems more useful if you use the bed a lot with materials near cab. I really like the Powerboost with the Propower that is a real game changer so many available applications.
anyone see the check engine light on at about 6:33? The reason why Ford doesnt sell enough Powerboosts is due to their reliability. My neighbor had his truck in the shop for a month because not even Ford HQ had a fix for it...ill stick to the 3.5L Ecoboost.
Could you pls ask Austin Davies if there's a constraint of max reclined seat and tow haul package? Last Nov. 8, 2023. I ordered a 2024 ford platinum (702a package) at Ford Lincoln in Kamloops, British Columbia. My salesman phoned and told last May 12, 2024 that there is a delay for the delivery due to constraint of Max reclined seat and tow haul package.
Great job Liam! That was a very professional and informative review. I do have to voice my frustration with Manufacturers. People that use their trucks for work and fleets need the pro tailgate option at lower trim levels like XL and XLT. It wouldn't hurt to offer that engine down at that trim level as well. Pickups were the working folks truck. Now they're just catering to six figure spenders. Give everyone the choice from all trim levels!
Fantastic job. I enjoyed your review.
Thanks for watching -Liam
Nicely done Liam! You definitely came across as comfortable in front of the camera. Love that tailgate. I’ve dinged more standard tailgates on my trailers than I care to count. Hopefully this makes it to the HD segment.
Thanks 👍 Glad you enjoyed. If the tailgate is a hit with customers I can definitely see it coming to the HD trucks. - Liam
I think Ford missed big on only giving the option for the pro access tailgate to lariat models and up. I believe they would drastically increase sales of this particular option if they made it an available option on all models. Hopefully it’ll trickle down to the lower models over time. Reality is, most people don’t want to drop 60 plus thousand dollars on a brand new truck.
Maybe so but I doubt it. My reasoning is because they took away the chrome grill from the XLT to force people to step up to a lariat and above to get it now. So I’m pretty sure nothing below a lariat will see that tail gate but time will tell.
It will be on the lower trims later on down the road. Just the big touchscreen and LED lights have finally trickled down to the lower trims.
Tailgate is trash
Simple tailgates were just fine now they are over engineered and impossible to take off the truck
@@redd7188 that with the all digital dash cluster. But it took a few years for that to happen. I wouldn’t hold my breath too long for the tailgate to become standard. They will need to make all their money off it first just like the other features that are now standard.
That's a great tailgate, especially with the retractable step!
Hey Liam are you able to have the low trim tremor colored bumpers on the high trim tremor?
Nice job Liam. Could you find out what brand of coffee Austin brews up? Anyway, it seems that all the new trucks are bombarding us with all sorts of things that distract from the purpose of what a truck is for. Not to mention the complicated technology that makes repairs a nightmare and expensive. I understand that the "water cooler cowboys" live from one trending image of themselves to the next, but the work truck crowd is being left out. A simple, hardworking machine is what we require at a reasonable price. If not, I'll continue to look for take off truck beds from the south, and cab corners to replace the rusty ones. With a $485 dollar a month mortgage and no truck payments, I enjoy my life just the way it is.
I like what Ford did to the F150. But being a 2022 Ridgeline owner, I am interested in the Ranger Raptor feeling it will ride smoother with the coil springs.
Good review!!
awesome man! can you do a review on the tremor suspension?
I love the tailgate! wish you could get it on more "work truck" style trims
Great video Liam! It's nice to hear a new voice on the TK channel! Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it! - Liam
Great informative vid Liam.
Thanks 👍 -Liam
I have a '22 Lariat PowerBoost FX4 Max Tow because I tow a travel trailer and wanted the big generator onboard. I wish you would have asked the Ford rep why they stopped offering MaxTow on the PowerBoost. A lot of people who tow opted for the PowerBoost because of the 7.2KW ProPower and they added the MaxTow just for towing margin. (Now we are all anxiously awaiting Ford's solution to the recall for rear axle bolt breaking.) One possibility may be that the hit in payload because the weight of the hybrid truck is contradictory to the max tow package but that's just speculation..
I'm still enjoying my 2021 powerboost lariat.
Yep. I have 2021 XLT Powerboost and it’s awesome
Why is the PowerBoost listed dead last in reliability in Consumer Reports? Seems like they are plagued with electrical problems.
@@tgilldesignI don’t know. I haven’t had electrical problems.
Awesome tail gate!
so the tremor hood can work on the regular XL?
Very profesional review Liam. F 150 is great truck especially with Coyote V8 under the hood. Greetings
Well done!
Why not have a 2.7 power boost to absolutely crush fuel economy?
Because 7.2kW is a lot of juice to pull through a generator. Normally you'd only see that kind of output from a diesel generator because it has the low rpm torque. The 3.5L flows enough air through those twin turbos to produce the required torque to make the generator possible and worthwhile.
Should have offered hybrid in the Tremor and the 6.5ft bed.
My only "complaint" with hybrid in a truck is it reduces payload by quite a bit. Those batteries and electric motor(s) add quite a bit of weight. The tailgate is pretty cool.
Good job Liam!👍
Thanks! -Liam
Nice job Liam.
Thanks! -Liam
My question regarding the Powerboost hybrid engine: Why is it not available on the Tremor trim? I imagine it's something to do with either additional cooling needs (skid plates tend to reduce airflow through the engine compartment) or with concern for having to protect the battery which is mounted under the bed. Whatever the case may be, if Ford really wants to push adoption of that powertrain, they should make whatever modifications are needed so it's available across the entire F-150 lineup.
Note: I imagine Ford is pushing the Powerboost because they want to bring up their MPG fleet rating. While a Powerboost in a Tremor would be less efficient than in a normal trim (no air dams on off-road trims), it would still be an efficiency improvement over the other Tremor powertrains.
Nice video Liam! Keep coming online buddy! I see the check engine is on..typical Ford 😂
I’m sure I’ll be back, thanks!
The tailgate would be better if it opened completely to the side instead of the small section in the middle. Then they could move the step to the corner and you could use it when you lower the tailgate normally. As it is it's only good when you open the small section.
Once they are able to put in a solid state battery and add in external charging, that powerboost configuration is going to be hard to beat.
Great vid and review. Tailgate has way too many moving parts. Front bumper is cool. Front Grille "coast to coast" is a gimmicky marketing name, HAHA. its a Grille
The most important question should be how come this powertrain is not in the expedition yet?
I think hybrid adds a lot of utility to the pickup. The lifted hybrids I’ve seen get very good mileage in the city and on farm and ranch operations where there is slot of start and stopping. The plug in generator is the most efficient 7.2kw generator available. Because of the battery pack, the efficient idle or the 3.5, you get far quieter and far more efficient power where you don’t have access to power or enough power.
I’d like ford to reduce the weight of the F-150 then add that weight back in a larger hybrid battery that is a plug in. If Ford can get battery only power of 30 miles, the average F-150 owner will see their fuel use drop by 75%! For those who drive mostly freeway and long distance, there is less advantage.
If I could, I’d make a 5.0 V-8 hybrid. I think we would see significant increase in overall mileage and still keep the V-8.
It’s a dang shame that Ford doesn’t have the Torsen front end on the lower trim level Tremor, to me the Torsen front axel and trail turn assist is what sets it apart from the other F150s. The Torsen front axel should be standard equipment for all Tremors, it’s an off road truck for crying out loud.
That tailgate is cool, but I think I like the old tailgate with a step. I’d have to play with it to get a better opinion.
Nice well done review.
It sucks that it is not on the Raptor anymore. The Torsen is the best and most reliable off-road front differential on any off-road truck.
@@smarticus6384 I thought the Torsen was standard on the Raptors F150? I know lockers are on the Bronco and Ranger Raptor.
@@markely7587 I understand that the Torsen had gone away last year. However, I believe it was still an option on the Tremor. But I don't know about 2024s.
I have the Torsen on my 401A.
They need to put powerboost in more body styles. That’s my problem. It’s only available in the big 4 door family hauler. Needs to be in regular cab and super cab.
Hybrid can be a huge deal as no longer a need for mechanical reverse in the automatic transmission which in theory can create a super reliable and robust automatic transmission as use all electric for reverse. How this vehicle works at the Boat launch would be nice to see.
Two things, which really is one, the rearview mirror needs to have a digital camera option, with a bed camera. With all the technology that the new Ford brings to the consumer, they have missed out on the big issue of it being a truck. Being able to see what you are hauling around, whether it be in the bed or on a trailer.
Good job bud
You definitely should be more in front of camera
Not gonna lie, if Ford had the Ram boxes, I would buy one in a heart beat!!
I understand it’s those corporate guys who decide to put all the cool features in the higher trims, but super frustrating as a budgeted consumer. Lariat in Canada is getting close to a $100k.
I guess the resale value on my Powerboost just took a hit if the new Powerboost is the same price as the new Ecoboost.
I’m sure it’s only an incentive.
If anything PowerBoost wouldn’t be a good add on if you think it would hold value.
The power-boost battery has a life span which will affect re-sale value.
@@mcmuskie2563 most of the value comes from the motor and inverter, not the tiny battery; not only is the battery capacity hardware-restricted to only drain to around 30% and stop charging at 70% to vastly increase it’s life, but it is smaller then a suitcase and doesn’t actually do much other then allow the electric motor and inverter to work right as well as be replaced for somewhere in the ballpark of $500 for the part.
Nice video. My favorite place to chill in Palm Springs is the "The Reef" at the Caliente Tropics.
You did a really good job man replacing Steven. Be proud!
Thanks man, appreciate the kind words. -Liam
Whats the payload?
In Canada, the 2024 F-150 offers best-in-class available tow rating up to 13,500 pounds towing and 2,445 pounds payload, depending on configuration.
Matt Murdock is a really good driver
Ram has had that tailgate for years.
After GM fired the kill shot with the Multi-Pro tailgate the others pale in comparison.
Thses boys dont like fords, glad someone on their channel would show
That’s funny because Americans know Gm is lower quality 😅
But good review
I really like it, but hear the electric only kicks in below 60km/h, otherwise it's gas. With todays fuel costs i'd love to see a powerboost variant that is plug in hybrid with 250km electric range and then switches to gas. That way you can get the convenice of fuel saving on shorter commutes but the reliability of gas for the long rides and towing etc. Oh and sell it below $60k CAD too hahahaha
I LOVE dual-swing tailgates, they make it so much easier to access the bed. I don't really like this implementation though. Too much extra weight and complexity. Honda does it best, though I'm guessing a single cable may not be strong enough on a bigger wider tailgate.
Why do Austin and Liam sound the same?🤣
That’s a lot tech to replace when it breaks a week after the warranty goes out.
I do not understand why we can't get the same deal for the hybrid like they give in US.
No prices yet? It's great the hybrid is now free, but at what overall cost?
Nice job on the flip side of the camera. One small suggestion would be to use alternative words for the term "awesome". It gets way overused by everyone.
Thanks for the feedback -Liam
I’m not sold on the tailgate wars the manufacturers are having. They’re more expensive so, the cost of repair or replacement would be higher. Plus I see limited functionality at 37°.
Needs HUD and 4 corner air.
Hybrid power boost doesn't do anything to save you fuel on highway, and the hybrid forces you to shrink your gas tank giving you less range than a non-hybrid engine. It still doesn't make sense on the f150 to go hybrid.
Testing on 401 lol
I’ve always loved the Tremor but man, the new grill and headlights make it even better. It’s by far my favorite F150 model.
Only reason I’d buy a ford. Is for the power boost with higher on board power
Thumbs up for the new guy. Hope he gets more opportunities to work.
Thanks for watching -Liam
I do not move over for semis🙄
i dont understand why you would want hands free driving.
Oh please don't start the narcissistic thumbnails for a vehicle reviews, this channel is great because the presenters are not trying to be the subject matter
ya but 80k for an xlt is absurd
Well an XLT is not what it use to be, that’s the problem. An STX with cloth manual seats and a rubber steering wheel is over $50,000 now. Times are different, and obviously not for the better.
Love the truck that tailgate is awful. Would much rather have rams tailgate
Yes .
They're not going to hit it if they don't put it in the Tremor or the Raptor.
Why is the PowerBoost listed dead last in reliability in Consumer Reports? Seems like they are plagued with electrical problems.
Man... I just got a dumb ole regular tailgate that keeps my crap from flying out. You mean this tailgate does a better job at keeping my crap in the bed of my truck while also costing more and being more complicated? F__K ME!
Its not a hybrid. The electric motor kick on only under 2 miles/ hour when you start………
New tail gate? Dodge have the same tail gate
maybe they should get some training into their shitty dealerships before pushing a hybrid. The second they see orange cables they panic.
PROBLEM -- They are basically no where to be found!!! The other problem … $25k over-priced! (Only person buying these is someone who can write off the cost. Again, if you can find one.)
Rather be on the moon, then Palm Springs!
Good job on the review! Personal though I think that tailgate system is stupid. It’s like ford scrambled to put something together. I Can already see all the dented tailgates once they start selling them.
I have had a 2024 Ford F150 Lariat on order for 6 weeks..... with the Pro Access Tailgate included with the Bed Utility Package. I have not even got an email from Ford yet, saying my order has been 'picked' up for manufacturing. Obviously, the Pro Access Tailgate is not yet available for new orders...so, I continue to wait...... When will the Pro Access Tailgate be available for new F150 builds? Seems like the Pro Access Tailgate is just a 'show' feature, but doesn't exist in real world order availability.
I love ford, but there's too much AI in vehicles now a days, which is just an expensive problem for us, the consumer. When things fail out of warranty, it costs more than the vehicle is worth keeping it for. AI promotes laziness on the road and who is at fault when an accident does happen? You? Them? Ford? Also, the cost of these trucks is ridiculous, I'm not buying a house, why does it cost over 100k for a pickup lol ridiculous.
The obvious thing to improve in the PowerBoost is mpg … the claimed 24 mpg never happens. 18 mpg requires careful driving.
Make the F-150 PowerBoost a plug-in hybrid PHEV and get 50-100 mpg with electric only range of 50+ miles.
As a '21 PowerBoost owner, if Ford listened to the owners on the forums, the '24 PowerBoost would have:
1) bigger battery (1.5kWh should be more like 15 kWh … or more … just make it an option with a price tag to get 15 or 30 or 50, etc.)
2) electric only driving at speed with range
3) electric only driving should be a switch on the dash (electric-only, hybrid, charge-the-battery, like other hybrids)
4) electric only should have much more power, in the '21, it's a walking pace and difficult to prevent it starting the engine
5) rear wheel steering (common on electric pickups, really necessary for the F-150 and great for towing.)
6) washer jets for all cameras and radar cover
For work trucks and off-road, overland or farm:
7) built-in winch behind the front bumper
8) detachable front and rear sways
9) 3 diff locks (front, center, rear)
10) air suspension for clearance and ride quality
11) control over retracting the front bumper air deflect chin (to retract much further for approach angle, or easily remove)
Features:
12) option to turn off the key reminder honk
13) option to turn off PWS (pedestrian warning sound) especially in off-road and low-range
(it's a swing-and-a-miss to be moving an electric truck when you want to be quiet, and there's a speaker making a spaceship noise …)
14) tow mirror power adjust wide-angle lower mirror
15) upper-fitter switches (used to be a thing)
16) remote lock circuit for bed accessories (to lock cables or bed caps)
17) V2X (bi-directional charging and "Vehicle-2-Load" like the Lightning and other EVs to use the F-150 has a home backup generator)
The F-150 is an all-round great pickup that needs simple upgrades.
Hopefully the '25 model year will be here soon and bring an F-150 PowerBoost PHEV.
Munch oo expensive for 99% of buyers
Ford may get the F-150 PB to 20% but they need to increase quality such that the owner experience and repair data shows it to be a high quality vehicle. Ford has many of the features I desire (towing capacity, PB, storage), but I have held back on trading in my reliable Toyota until I have more confidence that the F-150 will last.
