    I had my Y ceramic coated two weeks ago, and I can't get over how shiny it looks. I'm allowed to wash it now that the coating has fully cured, so that's tomorrows job 🤩

    I did my M3 myself with CarPro products. Including paint correction it took 3 days. Worth it. First road trip inland. Hit some horse poo on the road. Slung up the side of the car. Another 30km it had all slipped off. Afterwards bugs were able to be hosed off.

      You would get ceramic coating for entirely different reasons to PPF. I am getting both. Ceramic coating provides no protection against rock chips and stuff like that.

    What's the difference between ceramic coating and PPF and which one would you recommend considering the budget

    • @LudicrousFeed
      @LudicrousFeed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With an unlimited budget I’d probably go PPF + ceramic coating. Ceramic coating makes it shiny and easy to wash (including bird poop). PPF will protect from minor damage eg rock chips … but obviously not larger incidents eg dents
      PPF is usually 5-6x cost of CC depending on what you’re trying to achieve with PPF. Clear film is less dear than coloured/matte/satin wrap. If you wrap around door panels so you don’t see the edge, then that would add to the cost
      Also, if you’re going for clear PPF, consider the cost-benefit of paint repair/correction vs wrap

    • @justaprivateuser
      @justaprivateuser ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LudicrousFeed what's your opinion of PPF sold by Tesla. Costs just $85 without installation. Being this cheap in comparison to ceramic is a huge difference.

    • @LudicrousFeed
      @LudicrousFeed  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@justaprivateuser It is highly unlikely that professionally applied PPF is $85 given most places in Australia will charge in the thousands

    Hi Tom. Just a quick question. I’m picking up my model 3 highland on end of this month and what do you recommend? Ceramic coating or PPF ?I have PPF done to my previous Tesla but considering the cost factor I’m moving towards the ceramic coating this time. Your suggestion greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    • @LudicrousFeed
      @LudicrousFeed  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ceramic coating is great for keeping your car shiny if you wash it regularly
      But if you want extra protection against stone chips then PPF is better. You can also get ceramic coated PPF

    So this is the car not the windows then? That is not Ceramic Tint. Does Ceramic coat protect the car like PPF does or is PPF better for paint protection? Can they do this to older cars as well they don't need to be factory fresh as in say a 5yr old car? Interesting to learn about this.

    • @LudicrousFeed
      @LudicrousFeed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Car = ceramic coating is the generic term for the chemical bonding process
      Windows = tinting with a product called “Black Envy Nano Ceramic”
      You can add Ceramic Coating to older cars but it would require a fair amount of paint correction to rid swirl marks, scratches etc

      I would. The swirls that develop over time from washing on a white car can be noticeable, but that's my personal opinion. I'm also the person who is very lazy about waxing the car.
      The ceramic coating makes cleaning the car a breeze too, just hosing it down does a lot of the heavy lifting
