    I am a 57 yrs old fisherman who started fishing 54 years back. I live on a fishing village here in Puerto Rico, USA. Fourth generation fisherman who loves fishing as income and pleasure. I know many ways to fish but lately I am into fly fishing as a hobby. I can say "your flies are awesome" indeed. I watch every video you make, as well as others that cover saltwater flies. This one got my attention and I made some to try in this mackerel season (Spanish) and so far they are "killers". I use other colors but fallow your video to make them. Blue, yellow, white , silver are some as well as rooster feathers I raise myself just for fly tying. Really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Thanks:Papun from La Parguera , Lajas,PUERTO RICO, USA ( Caribbean). That's on the south tip of the island .Any one visiting please come to my town and lets share a fishing time together.

    Great tutorials, Davie. I love to see you using things like Pantone pens and 5 minute epoxy. I always wonder what fish (Trout and Salmon mainly) can and cannot smell, and what I can safely use from around the house to enhance my presentations. Stoked to tie a few of these for Coho and Springs around Vancouver.

    @timhemp The guy that replied to you was from the US. I know the name "mullet" is given to several different species of fish all over the world. The mullet he was referring to is a baitfish we have on the east coast (US) that lives mostly in inland bodies of water such as tidal creeks, sounds, and coastal estuaries. I'm sure the mullet you have in England is a different fish that is catchable on rod and reel. A cast net is a circular net you throw. There are tons of cast net vids on here.

    Hi Davie, another great fly! I really like your vids, they really help me as I only started my fly tying a few months ago. I have a question- what do you think about using fibers from party wigs for fly tying? I tied a few flies using them (large pike flies), and they seem to work alright, but I'm not an expert. I might might be missing something so that's why I'm asking, cheers :)

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HiPiterszczyk,
      Synthetic hair from a party wig will work perfectly on Pike flies and many other patterns, it's also very strong and will last much longer than many natural materials...I'm glad you enjoy my videos and that they have helped you get started into tying your own flies...

    that is terrible to hear davie!!,
    there are a lot of those around where im going too more mainly rainbow farmed at sea, but a few cages break loose every year with farmed trout n salmon and then when those things break out they eat everything in sight and become monsterous!! besides the hope of catching some seat trout like i have before im sure your deadly flies will bring me some luck with the escaped Frankenstein monster fish too!! thanks so much dave will make sure2 watch more of ur vids
