My biggest makeup struggle is I always end up with black under my eyes after about 2 hours. Even if I'm not wearing eyeliner, and I'm wearing waterproof mascara. My face just does not like to keep makeup on itself.
I used to struggle so much with eyeliner transferring onto the hood of my eye (#HoodedEyeProblems) and no matter liner I used and no matter what I did, priming, setting the primer, setting the liner, it would ALWAYS transfer. I had completely given up on liner until last month when I decided to try out the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner and it's literally the only liner I've ever used that doesn't transfer to the hood of my eye and it lasts all day long (as the name implies). So to all my hooded eyed friends out there, try out the Stila liner. You can thank me later.
+Alexis Danielle I have exactly that problem as well and I just don't use eyeliners anymore even though I would loooove the looks. I'll definitely try the Stila All Day Liquid Liner. Karima McKimmi, could you do a video on the best long-lasting eyeliners exactly for this problem?
I‘ve been thinking about this problem for the longest time and clicked on this so fast haha! Literally never had an eyeliner or mascara that doesn't smudge on me. Hooded eyelid+oily complexion problem. But these tricks definitely do help! Maybe tackle "why my foundation separates through the day?" or "how to pick colors that compliment your skintone?" or "how to look fresh with minimum effort?" love your videos~
That's a great video! I strugle with under eye concealers... Either they crease or they look cakey and I can't, no matter what (correctors, heavy duty concealer), cover those under eye circles that aren't only in the inner corners... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
+Gina R snap! I've tried everything but those genetic circles won't be covered. I've tried a million techniques and products but its always pure caking and barely any coverage. WHYYY
Same here, mine are genetic I literally have panda eyes. I've tried a lot of concealers but none has left me 100% satisfied. The best I've came across is the prolongwear from MAC.
+Gina R I feel youuuuu! I've tried about every concealer/corrector out there and still nothing but I have to say the closest I ever got was the bobbi brown corrector and the mac prolongwear concealer on top. wishing you luck!!
yesssss this was so helpful! I'm an eyeliner girl and I always prime my eyelids and around, don't put eyeliner in the inner thirds, set my eyeliner, and just recently started powdering around the eye area. BUT, I still have a few struggles. I could NEVER find a good eyeliner for the waterline. tried a few gel eyeliners, urban decay's, rimmel scandaleyes, maybeline masterdrama, etc, and I've just accepted that black on the waterline doesn't work for me, which is such a shame because smokey lower lashlines can be so sultry! as another tip/problem, I sometimes notice little bits of eyeliner flaking off and then leaving smears on my face due to oiliness throughout the day, which can be pretty embarrassing. this is usually a hint that the eyeliner is drying out!
Lately, my biggest makeup struggle has been my dry, flaky patches AND oily skin. They both just happen all over my face and sometimes in the same area, so I'll be greasy, cakey, and flaky all in one spot. No foundation, powder, primer, ANYTHING seems to be helping that lately - hence, I've been going without any of that all together :)
your skin is definitely dehydrated. You need to look further into your skincare routine, especially face cleanser. Other factors might be internal. Have you checked your hormones level lately?. It's worth looking.
Try exfoliating to help remove the dry skin, once I started doing that my skin has looked so great, and use vitamin E Oil in the morning and that gives me the hydrated feel without too oily
I have the same problem a friend of mine recently told me to put the cream for babies diaper rash on the spots of my face that are usually always oily right before I go to bed. And then a little Vaseline on the dry spots and I have seen a nice difference in my skin being a little more balanced. I still do all my regular face care routine just added doing the diaper rash cream 👍 I've also heard of other women putting the diaper rash cream over their entire face saying that it made their face clear up really well everyone is different though something that might work for one won't work for another 💞🫂👍 hope this may help someone
This video is exactly what I NEED! Best tip was putting primer under the eye and on the outer part of the eye, I never did that and here I am wondering why it's smudging UNDER my eye. Duh! Thank you SO much for this video, ridiculously helpful!
Love this! I'm one with watery tearducts, and sometimes I do just give up and avoid using eyeliner in the middle third of my eye. My number one makeup struggle is my foundation caking and rubbing off on the bridge of my nose where my glasses sit.
My biggest makeup struggle (aside from the ones you mentioned here...weepy eyes/tearduct mess...holla!) is with my eyeshadow. I have hooded lids and, typically, by lunchtime my eyeshadow is just a mottled, splotchy, all-blended-into-one-shade mess. I've tried so many different primers (including the one you used in this video) but haven't tried setting the primer. That may be the missing step I've been looking for, but I was wondering if you had any primer recommendations specifically for hooded lids since that does bring an added degree of difficulty to the whole smudge prevention thing. Thanks!!
Not sure where you live and if you can get it, but I've heard that the Wet n Wild Fergie one is good for hooded and/or oily lids. A lot of people think it's better than the Nars Pro Prime which is a popular one. And it's super affordable too!
I have oily hooded lids like you and I think there's not much we can do about our oils rubbing together when we blink! But I do think the Nars pro prime is great and I also think applying the shadow in really thin layers helps. No packing on a ton of eyeshadow!
I liked the NYX primer. My lid color didn't hold up quite as well as the crease, outer V and transition colors, but it is definitely and improvement. I couldn't get the new Makeup Geek matte shadows to last more than a couple of hours before, but with this primer (and the flesh tone eyeshadow on top) they have lasted all day! Thanks for the suggestion!
As usual great tips and tricks, thanks a lot Makeup struggle: creasing concealer (sigh) powdering too much highlights fine lines and gives a "cakey" look...
I was coming to say exactly the same!! Creasing concealer plus for me also my chin and nose eat foundation...even primed. If i powder I find it goes cakey. Great video - I always absolutely love what you have to say!!!
Karima McKimmie I've tried Mac pro long, maybelline age rewind (so far my fav) and benefit bo-ing but if you have suggestions would def give it a try (btw always priming my under-eye area using the mac prep-prime)
I only use the makeup geek gel liners, because 'everything' else smudges on me. I have actually found that the colour Rave stays put the best. Great video!
Thaaaats my main struggle, but also when the concealer smudges in the undereye area due to wrinkles. Besides, I have an undereye depression and even I correct the colour, you can see the 'mark' where de line of sinking is (English is not my mother toungue, I hope I could explain better). Soooo useful video! Love
Great video, great idea for a series too xx I struggle with disappearing foundation on my nose and chin areas, doesn't matter how much I prime and set with powder, SO annoying.
The only thing that helps me with that 'Rudolph' strugle is setting liquid foundation with powder foundation using flat makeup sponges (dab first, spread later). However, it only works if you set the whole central portion of face.
My struggle is Very dark under eye circles & Creasey prone under eye area & even though I colour correct & conceal & set with powder I still feel it fades throughout the day & also settles into my laugh lines, not cute!!
Its important to note that setting under the eye with any powder is not recommended if you are getting age related creasing as it amplifies the wrinkles.
I'm horrible at using eyeliner, because I just can't get the line right. Maybe it's the shape of my eye, I don't know. Eyeliner, specifically cat eye just doesn't suit me. But my biggest struggle is actually with mascara. I can't use waterproof mascara, so I have to do with a regular one. The thing is no matter what mascara I use, every time I use it on my lower lashes and then go outside (which I do, because I don't wear makeup at home :D), my eyes just get very watery (is that a word?) and my mascara smudges every time in the outer corners of my eyes. If I go outside and don't have mascara on, my eyes act normal, but with mascara on... horrible. I really enjoy your videos, Karima!
i loved this need more tips my biggest struggle is i am having texture issues after applying my foundation then powder to set however i do have dry skin but need to set for long wear my bronzer tends to go on patchy as well as blush just does not look flawless xx
Beautiful, great tips. Please could you help with showing how you cover dark circles under the eyes.. When i do I suffer with terrible creasing so I powder lightly but then I feel they always look worse. Thank you.
Loved this video! Biggest makeup struggle it's kind of a tie, #1 a greasy nose regardless of primer and setting powder, wishing the hour is super shinny, while the rest of my face is fine. #2 how to conceal really dark brown sun spots. Thanks for sharing all your tips I always learn so much!
Thank you for awesome tips. I learn something new, as always. Creasing or disappearing my undereye concealer is my big struggle. I can´t set it with a powder because my undereye area is too dry and powder always shows all my wrinkles there.
Hi Karima! I am a Long time admirer of your mad makeup skills and viewer of your videos! Thanks for this video, the issues with eye makeup can be such a struggle, especially eyeliner and all these tips are so helpful. I literally have all the eyeliner ailments you mentioned so you really helped me with this video. All us winged eyeliner wearers will be sending you love!
Thanks for this!! It was very helpful! Another make-up struggle I have is when my foundation moves whenever I put my glasses on. I know you mentioned in a previous video that all foundations do that but I get so damn annoyed whenever that happens! Anything to prevent that would be amaaazing!
Great video. I struggle with foundation breaking up on me, especially the chin. I have combo skin and I use a mattifying foundation and set with powder.
thank you so much for speaking about this. Honest to God, when I wear my eyeliner to work by the time i come home my eyeliner that I apply to the waterline spreads to around to my eye and it looks like i got a black eye. I will try it this way hopefully all these tricks work for me :D love you lots
Loved the tips! My lipstick/gloss always forms that detestable white ring after a couple of hours which puts me off from wanting to apply any to begin with!
Thanks for the tips !! I also have sensitive eyes and when I am facing the wind, my eyes get tears and watery which instantly makes my eyeliner smudge. This is the most struggling thing. So I have to bring Q-tips to recover it several times.
A big THANK YOU for the tip about tight lining transferring to the water line. This always happens to me and I hate it! I will try the waiting thing and see what happens.
Great video Karima, thanks so much! I really struggle with this problem but it had never occurred to me to use primer and powder! A major make up struggle of mine is liner and shadow transferring to the socket/brow bone area so a video on that would be lovely!
+miranda Try the primer and powder together and see if it helps with the transferring, otherwise I really recommend the Makeup Geek Gel liner I mentioned, if you haven't tried it already! x
loving the idea of a miniseries! my biggest make up struggle is definitely getting enough coverage with my foundation without it getting cakey once I apply powder and my foundation wearing off around the chin and nose throughout the day... I feel like I've tried everything from changing my skincare, to not using powder, to primers... it's a struggle for sure
great series idea! my biggest makeup struggle is getting my foundation/concealer to last on my nose. i have tried al sort of skin care, primers, formulas of creams, liquids and powders and so far i have yet to find the perfect combo for my skin. any tips would be greatly appreciated!
SHRIEK thank you soooooo much for making this vid! The struggle is real! My biggest problem is not wee pines/watering at the inner corner, but at the outer corner, and always the left eye, sometimes both. Not a single liner I have tried has been able to withstand the tears, and it's INCREDIBLY frustrating to have a big black blob above my eye and no wing on one side by the time I get to work. Grrrrrrr!!! I'm going to try your tips on priming & setting again, and see if they help...love you. That lippie suits you so well, btw.
Hi Karima, what a great idea for a series. My biggest struggle is colour correction - either on rosacea or on blemishes. I've tried using green-hued concealers underneath my foundation/normal concealer and the area always ends up looking really ashy (or dead!).
After reading through all the comments after just a few hours, sounds like you have a winner for a series, special K! Can't believe how many viewers out there are brave enough to comment, but apologize for their English! If my (Russian, Italian, Farsi, Hebrew, Korean) were even half as good as their English, I'd be thrilled. You have an amazing group of fans from everywhere!
My biggest makeup struggle of all time is creasing eyeshadow (and the eye area in general). No matter what primer I use, my eyeshadow will crease after a couple of hours! It would be awesome if you could talk about that in a video :)
+Karima McKimmie I've tried UD primer potion (3 different ones), Catrice, Mac paint pots, Essence. The problem is, I have one hooded eyelid (yep, only one:) and by the end of the day it looks like I put eyeshadow only on one eye, which is so very frustrating.
LOVE THIS!! HELP PLEASE? My question is WHAT IS THE BEST WAT TO HYDRATE DRY EYELIDS??? Very emollient eye creams are too heavy on eyelids but putting even a paint pot on is like foundation catching on dry skin causing a scaly start that ruins any eye look! Also, when I put ANY powder under my Eve's or on lids to set primer, it looks like I'm as dry as a MUMMY!! ARRRRGH HEEEELP!
Really moisturize your lids the night before. The next day, wear something lighter. And wait for it to absorb and set before putting primer on. And if your under eyes look cakey from powder, use less or try a different powder. One that is finely milled and not drying.
my spot concealing never stays put, even after I powder it, as soon as I put blusher or start to contour it moves or somehow the spots become visible. :/ helppp!!!
Karima, this makeup looks the best on you out of everything I've ever seen you do! Not that you dont look beautiful every single time, but I think this may be your 'Look'.
THANK YOU!! I have extremely hooded eyes, and using the setting method and priming method has actually helped a lot with transferring and smudging. So, thank you!
Lovely, as always, and a very informative video, as always! My number one makeup struggleS are: a) similar to the last point you mentioned, very watery inner tear ducts -especially when messed with- so forget eyeliner, I can't even lay down eye shadow on my eyelid evenly as it smudges and creates this disgusting kinda film...and even if I dry it and set with powder and try to cover it, this patch does NOT go away...It frustrates me so much that whenever it happens I completely remove all of my eye makeup completely... and b)for the life of me I cannot get my foundation not to crease around my nose...Doesn't matter what I do...Thin layers, thick layers, primers, no primers, powder, no powder...You get the gist...I have kinda concluded that my nostrils just flare out too much and since the skin meets very closely there is no way to avoid it...But if we could sort that out, I'd be jumping circles! I'm not even gonna go into the impossible oil sleek that is my skin that causes foundation, blush and everything else on my face to NEVER EVER stay in place for more than 2 hours, cause I have looked up and tried every trick in the book and it's just one of those facts of life that I have to accept once and for all...ugh...such a shame to have oily skin when you love makeup, cause all your careful and detailed work goes to waste...*sadsadsad*
+Karima McKimmie Oooohhhh!!!You replied!Thank you so much for the trouble!!!Your work is amazing, I trust anything you come up with will definitely be helpful!!! :)
Loved this video! Could you make a video on long lasting lipstick please? I don't know if it's just because my lips are on the bigger end or what, but I ALWAYS get a rim around my lips where the lipstick has stayed on on the outside but is completely gone on the inside and makes me look like I'm just wearing lip liner. Awkward.
Being 37 yrs old, the biggest issue is undereyes looking dry - have to set concealer as it'll crease and powders (i.e charlotte tillbury airflash flawless, laura mercier secret brightening powder) make the undereyes look dryer and the lines are more apparent than without makeup- slightly improved the situation with la mer eye serum followed by la mer eye gel (which smoothes like a primer)
Great tips! I wish my eyewear do not move a lot during hot summer. That's basically a 3-4 months constant struggle. Do you do anything extra special for hot summer for your make-up to stay put on your face?
Oh so much to choose from! Definitely my number one struggle is concealer. I just cannot get it to stay put and not crease unless I bake, but I really don't like doing it!
yes yes my continuous struggle and super annoying make my wings my eyes very watery outer corner completely disappears and destroys my lid work too:( ugh... will def try these tips ty
Thanks girlfriend!! your awsome but I must say I struggle as much or more with mascara. no matter what kind I used, waterproof or not...still it leaves me with raccoon eyes. I'll consider these tips to see if it will help with mascara as well😊
My biggest struggle is making sure my eyeshadow does not fade. Everything else on my face hangs tough, but my eyeshadow fades and all my placement/blending turns into one smoosh of a collection of all the colors I have placed on my eyes. Keep in mind I prime and set my eyes first, and still I get the Big Fade.
love your videos! my main struggle is texture. I have lots of veins on my eyelids and cover them up with concealer, and when I finish my eyeshadow I feel lyk thrs a lot of texture and creasing. I would love it if you could share any of your tips on this.
My nude and black eye liner always gets mixed! I will try this tip for sure! Number one makeup struggle is my oily skin! I need to touch up once every hour! Even with mattifying primers and powders and all that stuff :(
Great tips Karima. My struggles are dark under eyes and finding a concealer pigmented enough to attempt to cover them but without major creasing and my lipstick not lasting...I've tried the whole filling lips in first with liner, blotting, translucent powder then reapplying but within minutes it's all off again! So annoying!
My #1 struggle is that I do a cat eye every day and the wing itself is completely wiped off by end of day. Will try the gel + powder to set trick you mentioned!
This video was awesome c: My makeup struggle of the moment is matte lipstick on my lips that dry as the Sahara Desert. I admit, I'm not the best when it comes to hydrating my skin, but I use lip balm every morning and evening. My lips are always dry and peeling, and nowadays I always end up with that horrible line of doom at the inner portions of my lips.
+1 on terminally dry lips in the winter! Bobbi Brown's Yogi Bare beats anything I have used...lanolips, Bite Beauty agave lip mask, you-be, aquaphor, nuxe, by terry Baume de rose, Dior, nothing else works except occasionally marinating my lips in Homeoplasmine overnight. Water consumption has been ruled out as the culprit...
My mascara is always under my eyes by about noon. I avoid using moisturizer on my eyes in the morning, I've tried powder, and I have used waterproof mascara on the lower lashes. I've stopped wearing mascara on my lower lashes. I've learned to live with it.
My struggle is that whenever I put concealer on my blemishes, after a few hours, it's starting to either fade or to look really cakey. I've tried with concealers like the Bourjois Healthy mix or Benefit Boing, I've tried setting with a power, nothing works. Thanks! Love you!!!
Awesome video! Thx for the helpful info. Will try the makeup geek gel liner! My number one makeup struggle is sometimes my blending. I try so hard but sometimes it looks muddy :( or I think I've blended high enough and then I open my eyes and you barely see any eyeshadow on my crease or higher lol
Very helpful. I don't like setting the primer with a powder though because afterwards I can't get the same intensity from the powder eyeshadows I am applying afterwards. Any tip for that one?
+Sara BeauTime you can put a second layer of primer on your eyelid where you want the eyeshadow to be intense (lustrelux does that) (I'm french, sorry for my English)
+Sara BeauTime Matte crease shades will build to greater intensity (it takes a little more time) and for the lid, Emma's suggestion is spot on, dab a little more eye primer directly onto the lid. xx
These are tips are spot on. I really only struggle with one issue now. My makeup geek immortal is really great but in the waterline it dries so tight. Do you add anything to it to make the formula more fluid again?
+Karima McKimmie I have a few spots, but is one spot in particular that bugs me. On the lower part of my cheek, near the jawline.I think my skin has been damaged there after surgery on my jaw. It really annoys me and it is hard to cover up.
try a colour correcting fluid like the ones from urban decay. You will want something with a green tone to counter-act the redness. I know it sounds odd to put green on your face but trust me it works to cancel out the red.
My makeup struggle right now is applying make up for a night out (primer + tinted moisturizer) and some cream highlighters (rms and becca) and a few hours laters it's either gone or my face does not look plump anymore. I'm guessing I have dehydrated skin but I don't know what else to do. (I have an oily t-zone) Help! xx
Hi Karima, can you recommended eyeliners that are not gel for the lower lash line? I like my lower lash line to be softer but both long wearing pencils and powder (I religiously apply primer and loose powder like you suggested) but always smudges :(
Anything to do with concealing! My under eyes concealer fades very fast. And concealing pimple/pimple scar and t zone, which look gross after a few hours :/
The area around my nostrils is super dry, whenever I wear foundation it clings to my dry patches there. If I wear a thicker cream or oil around my nostrils it helps the look of the foundation when I apply it, but after about 30 mins the foundation breaks down and migrates away from my nose
Mine is mascara smudging! Waterproof, normal, not applying on my bottom lashes - it'll always transfer to my under eyes and smudge sigh. I imagine the solution to this would be quite similar to smudgy eyeliner so I'll give some of these solutions a try!!! Thank Karima!
black top tight line and nude bottom tight line tip is great! my make up struggle is having puffy hooded eyes. eye shadow work is tricky... and mostly unattractive on me.
My makeup strugle is when i put nude or white eye liner in the lower eyelash, it kinda transfer to my tear duct and looks awful, as if i just woke up and did not wash my eyes , any advise dear
My biggest struggle was that my mascara always transfers during the day whether I used a waterproofed one or not. I kinda solved it through set my concealer with powder very well. ps: I love your videos, you are so lovely!
Fab video, apart from eyeliner/mascara inner corner eye build up crap, mine would be not being able to put on mascara on my lower and upper lashes without getting it on my skin (especially the lower lashes) xx
Karima!!! Thanks for the tips!!! I will try all of them! I have trouble with my concealer specially now that it's extremely warm where i live! Can you make a video recomending the best primers?
Great tips Karima although I did freak when I saw the third hand in there! My biggest makeup struggle is eyeliner in general-getting it close enough to my lashes, doing a half decent line and getting them to match but I'm going to keep practicing and use these tips as well 😊
My biggest makeup struggle is I always end up with black under my eyes after about 2 hours. Even if I'm not wearing eyeliner, and I'm wearing waterproof mascara. My face just does not like to keep makeup on itself.
Same 😔
Then, stop wearing it. Enhance your own beauty naturally.

I totally agree!!

I prefer the fine tip version, I'm horrible when it comes to liquid liner.
Alexis Danielle u shud try the iglot gel liner. Unlike the maybelline gel liner it doesn't smudge or transfer and it doesn't budge
Your voice, accent and the way you use your words to explain things always soothe me.. anyone else have this feeling?
+Caroline Hartanto I'm so pleased you enjoy it haha xx

+saracander Love the Makeup Geek Gel Liners ;) x
+Ivana Erenda Thank you so much, will try that.
+Ivana Erenda Agree with this advice ;) x
If I go outside and don't have mascara on, my eyes act normal, but with mascara on... horrible. I really enjoy your videos, Karima!
my worst makeup struggle is that my base makeup doesn't stay on those crusty blemishes that i try to conceal
i loved this need more tips my biggest struggle is i am having texture issues after applying my foundation then powder to set however i do have dry skin but need to set for long wear my bronzer tends to go on patchy as well as blush just does not look flawless xx
Beautiful, great tips. Please could you help with showing how you cover dark circles under the eyes.. When i do I suffer with terrible creasing so I powder lightly but then I feel they always look worse. Thank you.
+minniemadonmakeup Good idea, thank you! x
*within the hour (sorry)
+Alexandra Marquez Have you tried Becca Matte Primer? Just on the nose area. xx
+Karima McKimmie thanks for the suggestion, I will check it out! Xoxo
Your video production is flawless 👏🏼
+nmhowl80 Thank you! xx
Thank you Karima! definitely my top makeup struggle. I easily get panda eyes. The other one is makeup/foundation breaking up on my nose area....
+nilerose11 Glad you liked the video! Thanks for that suggestion xx
+Lauren Harger Give it a solid 20 minutes, if you can! x
Great video Karima, thanks so much! I really struggle with this problem but it had never occurred to me to use primer and powder! A major make up struggle of mine is liner and shadow transferring to the socket/brow bone area so a video on that would be lovely!
+miranda Try the primer and powder together and see if it helps with the transferring, otherwise I really recommend the Makeup Geek Gel liner I mentioned, if you haven't tried it already! x
+Karima McKimmie Oh thanks so much, I will give both suggestions a go! Already looking forward to your next video :) xx
loving the idea of a miniseries!
my biggest make up struggle is definitely getting enough coverage with my foundation without it getting cakey once I apply powder and my foundation wearing off around the chin and nose throughout the day...
Such a great video!!
+KatesBeautyStation Yay, glad you liked it :) x
Hi Karima, what a great idea for a series. My biggest struggle is colour correction - either on rosacea or on blemishes. I've tried using green-hued concealers underneath my foundation/normal concealer and the area always ends up looking really ashy (or dead!).
Yes! Thank you! This is my #1 struggle. I have more mature skin so I moisturize like crazy but then get smudges all day! Ugh! Great tips!
+critK9doc I'm so incredibly lucky
My biggest makeup struggle of all time is creasing eyeshadow (and the eye area in general). No matter what primer I use, my eyeshadow will crease after a couple of hours! It would be awesome if you could talk about that in a video :)
+Tayah What primers have you tried? x
+Rach D THANK YOU!!
i would ask the same
+Sarah Kalnajs Is it possible that you have some mild dermatitis on your eyelid? Have you had it checked out? x
+Karima McKimmie I do have an inner eyelid pore clogging condition so it is possible - great point - THANKS!
my spot concealing never stays put, even after I powder it, as soon as I put blusher or start to contour it moves or somehow the spots become visible. :/ helppp!!!
Karima, this makeup looks the best on you out of everything I've ever seen you do! Not that you dont look beautiful every single time, but I think this may be your 'Look'.
one of the most helpful videos EVER. thank you for always being so insightful.
Oh the concealer under the eyes, yes! And I would like to add how to prevent it from sitting in the fine lines the eyes make when we smile
THANK YOU!! I have extremely hooded eyes, and using the setting method and priming method has actually helped a lot with transferring and smudging. So, thank you!
Lovely, as always, and a very informative video, as always!
My number one makeup struggleS are:
a) similar to the last point you mentioned, very watery inner tear ducts -especially when messed with- so forget eyeliner, I can't even lay down eye shadow on my eyelid evenly as it smudges and creates this disgusting kinda film...and even if I dry it and set with powder and try to cover it, this patch does NOT go away...It frustrates me so much that whenever it happens I completely remove all of my eye makeup completely... and
b)for the life of me I cannot get my foundation not to crease around my nose...Doesn't matter what I do...Thin layers, thick layers, primers, no primers, powder, no powder...You get the gist...I have kinda concluded that my nostrils just flare out too much and since the skin meets very closely there is no way to avoid it...But if we could sort that out, I'd be jumping circles!
+Anna Georgiadi Great suggestions, thank you! Will compile tips and tricks :) xx
+Karima McKimmie Oooohhhh!!!You replied!Thank you so much for the trouble!!!Your work is amazing, I trust anything you come up with will definitely be helpful!!! :)
Hi loved this tips and tricks :)) can u plz tell me which brush did u use to apply powder to set under eye (rose coloured ) ???
Xx
+Zara Badalova Charlotte Tilbury Eye Blender Brush. xx
Awkward.
+Ashleigh Cryer A few people have mentioned this, good suggestion! x
Thanks for the tip about using eye primer and powder *all around* the eye.
+Eva Yaa Asantewaa Glad you found it helpful :) x
+sweetmarcipan Setting spray! x
I'll consider these tips to see if it will help with mascara as well😊
+Mo G Try these tips, also have you tried tubing mascaras? x
+Karima McKimmie tubing mascara, eh?! No, but I'll find out about it! :-) Thank you!!! x :-)
This is so helpful!! Can't wait to try it. I think the full application of primer and setting with powder is really going to do the trick! THANKS
Thank you for the great tips. My makeup struggle would be droopy eyes and how to apply eye makeup, especially eyeliner.
+chitchat davis Will keep that idea in mind :) x
you are a gem! how you dont have a million subscribers yet is beyond me!
My nude and black eye liner always gets mixed! I will try this tip for sure!
Number one makeup struggle is my oily skin! I need to touch up once every hour! Even with mattifying primers and powders and all that stuff :(
+kat ch Have you tried the Becca Matte Primer? That one is hardcore! x
Great video as always! My number one MU problem is definitely my nose. It has a bit of texture and almost always looks cakey after a couple of hours.
This video was awesome c:
My makeup struggle of the moment is matte lipstick on my lips that dry as the Sahara Desert. I admit, I'm not the best when it comes to hydrating my skin, but I use lip balm every morning and evening. My lips are always dry and peeling, and nowadays I always end up with that horrible line of doom at the inner portions of my lips.
+Little Chortle Glad you enjoyed the video :) x
So helpful! I definitely try the gel eye liner you recommended. I prefer using a gel liner than pencil or liquid.
You are so beautiful😍. You're my favorite TH-camr because you have so much knowledge but it still never gets boring 🙏🏼 lots of love from Germany 💋
+leasophie24 So pleased you enjoy the videos
My struggle is that whenever I put concealer on my blemishes, after a few hours, it's starting to either fade or to look really cakey. I've tried with concealers like the Bourjois Healthy mix or Benefit Boing, I've tried setting with a power, nothing works. Thanks! Love you!!!
+Laura Dinca Good suggestion! x
I've been waiting for someone to do this video for my whole life 😍 thaaanks
+Zouazou Hind Yay! My pleasure :) x
+Francesca DeLucacalce Sounds like you might have hooded eyelids! x
Very helpful. I don't like setting the primer with a powder though because afterwards I can't get the same intensity from the powder eyeshadows I am applying afterwards. Any tip for that one?
+Sara BeauTime you can put a second layer of primer on your eyelid where you want the eyeshadow to be intense (lustrelux does that)
(I'm french, sorry for my English)
emma trvso Oh that is interesting! Thanks
+Sara BeauTime Matte crease shades will build to greater intensity (it takes a little more time) and for the lid, Emma's suggestion is spot on, dab a little more eye primer directly onto the lid. xx
My makeup struggle is smudging tear ducts. I tried to highlight the inner tear ducts area and it blends in with my eyeliner making a mess.
Bronzing tips and tricks please!!
These are tips are spot on. I really only struggle with one issue now. My makeup geek immortal is really great but in the waterline it dries so tight. Do you add anything to it to make the formula more fluid again?
You lipstick colour is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 I'd love to know what it is pretty please??!!!
+Grace Daniell I've added this info to the description, thanks for reminding me! x
+Karima McKimmie legendary!!!
5 yrs later still a very helpful video! Thank you!
Love ! Thank you 😘
What lipstick are you wearing?
n1 makeup struggle: concealing redness without having to put on a very full coverage foundation (I don't like that look).
Love your video's. :)
try color correcting
+mrsdeWilde Do you have redness all over the face? Or mostly in one area? xx
No more flick eye-liner for me! I'm 45 and my lid is doing "free fall" 😔 ,but you are such a dear! Kisses from Italy
+encjzehlinahhh Lots of concealing struggles in the comments, noted! x
The area around my nostrils is super dry, whenever I wear foundation it clings to my dry patches there. If I wear a thicker cream or oil around my nostrils it helps the look of the foundation when I apply it, but after about 30 mins the foundation breaks down and migrates away from my nose
Dry skin. I tried prep the skin but it is still flaky esp on the bridge of the nose and my cheeks. Driving me crazy!
That last one is probably gonna save my entire look. Bless you
Great video. What makeup brushes are you using to apply the primer and setting powder?
very helpful!! keep doing this series please thank you :)
+Em Elhelw Tubing mascara might be an option, also! x
black top tight line and nude bottom tight line tip is great! my make up struggle is having puffy hooded eyes. eye shadow work is tricky... and mostly unattractive on me.
I’m obsessed with the shape of your winged eyeliner in this vid
My makeup strugle is when i put nude or white eye liner in the lower eyelash, it kinda transfer to my tear duct and looks awful, as if i just woke up and did not wash my eyes , any advise dear
My biggest struggle was that my mascara always transfers during the day whether I used a waterproofed one or not. I kinda solved it through set my concealer with powder very well.
ps: I love your videos, you are so lovely!
+Luftkuss Have you tried a tubing mascara? x
lips are my big struggle. i have not a sharpe lip line and it always look a bit shitty, like i dot the lip liner around my lips.
Fab video, apart from eyeliner/mascara inner corner eye build up crap, mine would be not being able to put on mascara on my lower and upper lashes without getting it on my skin (especially the lower lashes) xx
Oh i use bobbi brown concealer, nars concealer, mabelline age rewind.... Every one creases. Worse still if i set them with setting powder!!!!!
Karima!!! Thanks for the tips!!! I will try all of them! I have trouble with my concealer specially now that it's extremely warm where i live! Can you make a video recomending the best primers?
Great tips Karima although I did freak when I saw the third hand in there! My biggest makeup struggle is eyeliner in general-getting it close enough to my lashes, doing a half decent line and getting them to match but I'm going to keep practicing and use these tips as well 😊
+Denise Leyden Haha clever editing, I only have two hands :) x
