    I loved everything about this video from the technique and demonstration of the old and new. To the aesthetics and the transition with you moving about your day blurred in the background. Very beautiful thoughtful creation.

    I've been doing a similar "new" placement for a little while (mine's even more straight up-and-down) and I'm SO much happier with how my eye looks turn out. My lids are quite hooded such that my crease ends below the outer corner of my eye, and "outer-v" placements never worked for me, but I can confirm that this new placement is VERY kind to hooded eyes.

    WOW…That was such an amazing and detailed tutorial. Thank you. I am 53 (almost 54), and I have definitely started to notice my eyes dragging at the corners. I’ve been stopping my eyeliner a few mm in from the outer edge, as you suggested, and it has helped a lot. I’m looking forward to trying the new shadow and mascara techniques, though, as it seemed to make a TREMENDOUS difference to your eye shape! (And you don’t even need to worry yet…ha ha.) Very well done! Subscribed!

    OMG - 76 yr old sub here - who has been doing that eye look (or at least my version of it!) for years! It makes the eye rounder, which is more youthful (IMHO) and is less harsh on an older face.So glad you're back doing vids - by far the best makeup artist ever, and I listen just to hear you say "here" which comes out as heeya!!

  • @janiceg7661

    That reminds me of the YTer that did the three stripe technique on the upper eye lid. Both sides are beautiful. I think I need to move away from bottom eyeliner as I think it’s making my eyes look rounded somehow. Thank you ❤

    One thing I like on the new side is that it makes the eyes look smaller, which I quite like as I have quite big eyes, and they look very makeup-y very quickly! I will be trying it!

    I always "clean up" with a little bit of ceancealer under the eye and go with a little bit of it next to the eyeliner (between upper eyelash and eyebrow) to lift the eye by taking away some eyeshadow that could potentially drag the eye down, it works fine for me, but will try your technique and see how I like it. Love your videos!! :)

    I have similar shaped eyes and the “new” side is exactly what I do it’s kinda like a backwards 7 or upside down L rather than the whole outer V. I’ve never been happy with my lower lash line, I absolutely LOVE❤❤❤ your take on less and not going as dark it looks much fresher and flows so well….
    OMG the glowish powder tip at the end is stellar, YES! It’s like you know me!!❤

  • @elenip2874
    @elenip2874 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’ve got hooded, down turned eyes and it’s a difficult situation 😅. I have to use my lower lash line as a guide for liner and eyeshadow placement given how hooded my eyes are. I go for a halo eye much more often and I never forget to curl my lashes. Layering and slightly blending has always worked better as a technique vs blending extensively.

  • @julespearson
    @julespearson ปีที่แล้ว

    I've always found your 'new' technique more flattering on me. If I get too much shadow on the outer edges I use my concealer brush (with tiny bit of left over concealer) to remove the shadow that has gone past my eye, kind of how you placed the finishing powder.

  • @georgieporter9946
    @georgieporter9946 ปีที่แล้ว

    Loved all these tips and so happy to see your videos back ❤ After your last video I tried this on a whim - adding a slightly luminous nude liner (using the 19/99 one currently) on my inner corners where I've started to lose some volume and get slightly blue. Really helps brighten the whole eye area!

  • @karenmitchell6814
    @karenmitchell6814 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow, I’ve been trying to follow tutorials for years that carry shadow and eyeliner past the end of my eye for that swoopy big eyed look and always wondered why my eyes always just looked droopy. Never again. This is so much better for me!

  • @MulticolouredCloud
    @MulticolouredCloud ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Use nude eyeliner in the lower waterline but only in the center of the waterline! It makes your eyes look bigger and rounder in a more subtle way.
    I used to place the nude eyeliner on the entire waterline but it can look too stark if i overdo it

  • @ririimari

    I like the old method because it shortens the midface but they both do look nice and I admit the new one does look lifted.

    Those hourglass liners don’t get talked about enough. I buy the dark brown one all the time. I can highly recommend it. It doesn’t have the warm brown tone that Nars one does. I love how soft and easy to apply the hourglass formula is 🥰

    I still prefer the old technique, just because the new one tends to make the yes smaller, and that’s not what I need. But both look stunning on your eye shape.

    It must just be where the trends have been going and everyone hopping ship because your cream eyeshadow (just on the ball of the lid and a little above the crease and on the center of the lower lid, specifically) and mascara technique are what i've been doing for the last year. I pretty much entirely stopped wearing makeup during the pandemic and honestly haven't really started back up again* but when i want to dress up those are the only two things i wear on my eye.
    *i will never stop watching this channel though! you were already the only makeup channel i was still following by 2019 and i will watch this until you delete it haha
