I’ve done all of this so far and still hear a little whining or high pitch noise when I start it. Plus it’s colder here and that could be it?! Who knows, maybe it something with idling?! Of course the mechanic says it’s normal. I know it’s not 🥴

Awesome thanks for watching! Yeah could be a lot of things, especially if you hear it with the door closed. But cold temps might have something to do with it. might be worth getting a second opinion from a Toyota specialist 🤷♂️

Hey man can you do one about recovering the Driver seat?
I have been considering this for a while. It might be worth taking to an upholstery shop

what does it mean if the coolant bubbles with the cap off?
The system is burping out air. Air bubbles can cause overheating
When I install my spark plugs, I slide rubber tubing (about 8 inches long) over the opposite threaded end instead of using a socket. This way, you eliminate the chance of cross threading the spark plug in the block. If it begins to cross thread, the tubing slips on the plug, but is still attached to plug. Just reseat the plug, and you should be good to go once you the threads catch.

Yeah I got a quote from a junkyard at like 1500 just in case it was a total brick. Would have only lost 500 worst case. Still running and driving great

When you need tires, go for the 265/70 R17 instead. Will make it look bigger and stronger. I've done mY self all the fluid changes including the ATF (use MaxLife ATF). This is the perfect mileage to do them all before is too late.
Synthetic motor oil might cause leaks if the previous owner never used before, mine leaked a little by the rear main seal and it did stop after I went back to mineral 5W30 oil. Let me know if you need any advice on doing the transmission, power steering or anything else.

Hey I worked at toyota Lexus 14 yrs. you don’t need to mess with gap on spark plugs. That plastic cap is the reason , there gapped
Yes, I said that in the video 4:43 . I was just checking the gap to see if they were damaged in shipping or anything because they arrived with the boxes all mangled.

Invest in a radiator funnel. It attaches onto top of radiator opening. Parts stores have it for $30

The rear adjustable shocks go bad. There’s other utube videos on how to modify it to coil springs and shocks good luck 👍🏼

You all seem surprised. No need for the drama. This is a Toyota product. My GX has > 200K miles and runs like new
Was just concerned about it sitting for several years. Cars do not like to sit. Seals swell, rubber deteriorates and dries out, cylinder walls can get rusted/seize, rats can chew through the wiring harness etc.
And totally true, the mileage on these Toyota’s doesn’t really matter if it’s driven every day and taken care of/serviced properly.
