Definitely an interesting video and beautiful piece of furniture, but not a how-to video which is what I was looking for. Many of us don't have all this expensive equipment used and the table build went at high speed without explanation.
Dude you earned a sub yes your woodworking top-notch, your video exceptionally done! But the thing that got me bro was the music man I looked up these tunes for my shop man well well well done!!!
That's good to hear. I also do build videos and i use danish oil a ton. If you have not tried it...highly recommend. Quick...easy...looks great. PLUS it's pretty much foolproof....which is why I love using it.
Imagine people doing this without any electrical machinery, but just by hand like in the old days. Makes you think how easy we have it today, huh. :) Well done by the way, looks awesome. Of course, this could only be done with your certified engineer next to you (kuddos to her). :D Cheers.
Thank you imightholla. That was sort of my goal for this video and what I hope to do with this channel! Interesting, entertaining, and fun to watch project videos. There are many other woodworkers on TH-cam that are much more qualified to teach and demonstrate technique than I.
I can't believe you cut off that beautiful natural edge on that one board. knowing you'd have a seating area on the one side. The irregularities were so mild it wouldn't have distracted from the over-all beauty and would have added a natural enhancement. Aside from that, quality work.
KnightofAntiquity I painted over the stain so that I could sand some areas and the dark stain would show threw the paint. It's a technique that I like to use to give mine texture and depth to the piece.
Matt Rohlfing I don't have an official set of plans for this island. However I do have a sketchup model. If you are interested in that let me know and I can send it to you.
The millwork! The music! All fantastic. Great job

Beautiful finished product!
Great build.
Love this video! Seeing this I got my own pocket hole jig (which was not that easy in Germany back then). Used it a lot. Keep up the good work!
Can’t believe you have all those high tech power tools but no jigsaw! I’ll trade ya!
Haha! Yeah I had one at one point, but it broke and I just haven't replaced it yet. Although there have been multiple times I've needed one...
That was some dope editing
Fantastic build. Love it.
Absolutely beautiful. And the top is beyond beautiful. Great job . Wow . I know what I’m using for a top on my next job 👍🏻

Awesome island! I would love to build something similar for myself. Any chance you have the cut list and instructions?
That top was awesome...nice job being patient and making it pop!! First time watching...sub'd!
I know the joinery in the base is far more complicated and took a lot more work, but gee that top looks good! Great video mate, really enjoyed it

Chris Parker awesome. You'll love it! Goes on clear, dries super fast. Very durable. It's basically all I use now.
That's good to hear. I also do build videos and i use danish oil a ton. If you have not tried it...highly recommend. Quick...easy...looks great. PLUS it's pretty much foolproof....which is why I love using it.
great first video man! island came out awesome
Great video. I've been wavering on design for a basement laundry table. I think Ill be using this as a base. Probably hold off on the walnut lol
Pete Dawson you can never have too much walnut 😃
Do you have schematics? You did a beautiful job!
I'll just drive to lowes and pick up that walnut!
Look for a place like www.rugbyabp.com/ in your area
Hi I was wondering what’s the measurements of your kitchen island please

TheOpelkoenjas I think about that often while I'm working in the shop! It is very impressive, but I'm glad to have my power tools 🤣

Nice!!!
Wow 1st video. Amazing. Just subscribed.
Thanks for the kind words and the sub!
I’m leaving this for the pros 👍
Nice joint. I think I've seen Mitch Rudman of High Falls Furniture (@hffcom) use something similar.
Why stain then paint?
KnightofAntiquity I painted over the stain so that I could sand some areas and the dark stain would show threw the paint. It's a technique that I like to use to give mine texture and depth to the piece.
Family Table Furniture Hmmm interesting.
hermoso
Do you have plans available?
Matt Rohlfing I don't have an official set of plans for this island. However I do have a sketchup model. If you are interested in that let me know and I can send it to you.
