  • At the beginning and 1 item I forgot at the end, I explain the repairs I've been making over the last 15 months. Then we fly out to Marion County Airport (X35)

    Thank you for the update - I have been seriously considering picking one of these up. Nice to see some of the issues and resolutions as well as of course, the flying. Much appreciated.

    Aren't you supposed to stop at Whataburger after a flight?? On no -- nevermind -- that's after an all-nighter!!! Great video,
    Scooter!

      Thanks. I wish there were Whataburgers down here!

    I wish Microsoft Flight Sim would notice this perspective. The subtle bobbing and wandering cockpit against the background really makes feel like you are flying. The 2 per rev stick oscillation with the sound proves you are in a helicopter. Thanks for the ride!

      Glad you enjoyed it. That bobbing and weaving is really pronounced in this since it's so light.

      About 5 miles East? I'll be heading that way next weekend when I fly around Lake Weir.

    Add a Hydra rocket pod on each side and We're Talking.

    I don't live far from you in Citrus County. I'm very interested in getting the XEL version of the mosquito with the 2-stroke motor and the floats (so it's FAA part 103 compliant). I would love to chat with you and pick your brain about this heli if you would be okay with that. Thanks for the video!

    Wow. Much improved. Glad you're back. I am building my Helicycle and looking forward to flying it for sure! Did the factory help with your problem solving and repairs?

    • @FlyNavy
      @FlyNavy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They did. The factory rep assisted with the repairs and discovered the bushing issue. Not sure I would have checked that.

      @@FlyNavy do the Composite FX guys do the turbine work as well?

    • @FlyNavy
      @FlyNavy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Kentucky Helicycle They do their own gearbox work. They have a guy in Boston that does all the actual turbine work for them.

    Is your airspeed indicator calibrated in Knots or MPH? looking forward to more videos

    • @FlyNavy
      @FlyNavy  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's calibrated to MPH. It was a tough conversion for me.

    You ever flown it in light rain? I wonder about the risk of flameout if water gets into the engine, also are you usually around 500-600 AGL for cruise? thx

    • @FlyNavy
      @FlyNavy  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I know it's been out and operating in VERY light rain. I don't think the issue is flaming out. The intake is pretty well shielded. All the electronics are exposed in the cockpit, and the wiring isn't sealed at the connections.

    Hello. Glad you are back up on the air. So if i anderstand correclty , your issue was the push rods going through the white caps bind on those ? For me the upper rod ends going to the butterfly are often hard to move after a flight as the bearing get very hot;.. Do you encounter the same thing ? Thx

    • @FlyNavy
      @FlyNavy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a few times. That position has very little room. The Heim joint has to be exactly lined up with the butterfly assembly and they need to not be over tightened.

    • @69fel32
      @69fel32 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FlyNavy Yes sure, not easy to get those free in this very little space, except if the center bolt going on the butterfly with the rings on both side is not to much tightened but what is the limit to not be under tightened... Can the 5 bolts going through the butterfly be able to be moved by hands ? Thx

    • @FlyNavy
      @FlyNavy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the standard bolt torques are in the build manual, but I'd have to look up where.

    • @69fel32
      @69fel32 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FlyNavy Thank's for your reply. Yes it should be good to know the torques for those. Will have a check as well.

    R.I.P my brother. I love you as well as my family, we knew you dearly and will always remember our family get togethers. We enjoyed seeing your helicopter and knew it bought you much joy. I am always saddened to see this video because I always thought I could prevent such a terrible accident that you endured. My heart sinks thinking about what was going through your head when it failed and always go back to this video and how happy you were. We love you! I hope you are zipping around in heaven as happy as can be.
