Flight from Freeflight Airport (2FA6) in Coleman, Fl to my house in Belleview. A first look at the future home of the Mosquito.
24 October Maiden Flight at Freeflight and Champaign Spray

Started camera late. You missed some pedal turns and sliding. This starts with a couple of quick stops, a square pattern, 2 normal approaches and 2 autorotations
Flying Around Composite FX
มุมมอง 2.6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Started the camera in flight. The large, barren field is just North of Composite FX. Flew a couple of laps around the facility and flew back in to complete the last checks. Aircraft is now good to go!
Test Flight for Fuel Control and Can Replacement
มุมมอง 1.1K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Finally completed troubleshooting the surge issue with the engine. Turned out to be the combustion section (we're supposing it was the fuel injectors). Aircraft is now 4.0 and ready to be transported to Coleman for 6 moths to complete the 40 hour fly-off. It has 7.1 on it now. This is the hover check flight. Performed some turns and some quick stops to check power recovery in high demand scenar...
My First Flight
มุมมอง 8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
My first flight on 10 January. I know I'm late, but between then and now I sold a house, bought a house, moved, and had my first grandchild. So give me a break! This flight is at an airfield about 10 miles from the Composite FX factory. I actually had 2 flights on this day and got to my 1 hour inspection time window.
First Flight
มุมมอง 6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Maiden flight 06 January. Pilot is Dwight Junkin, owner of Composite FX. He performs all the first flights to establish a performance baseline.

Is your airspeed indicator calibrated in Knots or MPH? looking forward to more videos
It's calibrated to MPH. It was a tough conversion for me.
What a lovely place to live, thank you for the tour. Does your helicopter have a turbine engine? 😎
It does.
You ever flown it in light rain? I wonder about the risk of flameout if water gets into the engine, also are you usually around 500-600 AGL for cruise? thx
I know it's been out and operating in VERY light rain. I don't think the issue is flaming out. The intake is pretty well shielded. All the electronics are exposed in the cockpit, and the wiring isn't sealed at the connections.
I would be so happy to be able to do that, have fun for both of us😊
@@Erxch I will. It's an enjoyable experience.
Can you tell me how much area of square or rectangle is required to safely land a Mosquito 2 seater helicopter because i want to buy and then i will keep it on terrace or roof of my house, is it safe or risky, if yes then where should i make the helipad instead of my terrace
There is no 2 seat Mosquito. To land mine safely, I need about 40 foot of clearance. Rotors are 22 ft and you need some extra room. Landing on your roof or terrace would be a question for your neighbors, HOA restrictions, or any local laws. But in any case, you would need to be able to cover it. It is not an all-weather aircraft.
@@FlyNavy Thanks Sir, as you said it's not all weather aircraft so i will make some type of Warehouse at my roof of dimensions 49ft x 49ft, but I don't know how much thrust helicopters will generate while taking off and landing, I'm afraid if it would break my walls of roof
So quick question when you’re making a left or right turn are you using your pedals Because I noticed your stick stays in about the same center position when turning
There is pedal required in a balanced turn in a helo.
Don't be sorry. 😊
Remember dryice for cooling and shut down.😊
Thumb toggle for power/torque velocity. 😊
Nice and awesome. It almost lasted an Hour in the Air.😊
🍒👋👌😊
Always going to have backing pressures
The feet turns the Frame The hands turns the mechanics???😢😊
Great place to grow fruit trees.😊
Sediments are thick and rich with natural Omega 3.😊
Thanks for sharing.😊fyi You should get air bags that are punctured and fire proof within your machine.
Just incase of unexpected potential hazards.
Thanks for sharing.😊
Must be the down draft from your horizontal blades.😊
I noticed the vibrations in your angular stick.
2 control sticks would totally help your fears.😊
Good luck and have a safe and also happy flying.😊
Alright or all wrong😊
Good machine to have when you have to feed or water your livestock.😊
Inclosed grease works just fine if you have dry ice to quickly cool down the low viscosity of the grease.
Lubricants are key to all moving parts.
Awesome paint job
Its a prototype right?😊
Consider growing your own lovestock.😊
@@pheirphon4680 The wife would say there's already enough livestock around here! ;)
@FlyNavy cool. Just wondering because I didn't see any on your flight.
@FlyNavy your wife is probably right.
@@pheirphon4680 Our HOA does not allow livestock. Only horses and dogs..... and helicopters!
Nice looking grass.
Where and which Belleview?😊
@@pheirphon4680 Belleview, FL. Central Florida.
@@FlyNavy 😊
Hey, lots better than a tour of Hobbs, NM, or Baker, CA!
Which country is this?
USA
Saya ingin belajar membuat helicopter sekagus bisa mengendarai...😞😞
Dud you sound pretty out of Shape your self.
How do you take the flying lessons to get your license with only one seat?
You can take lessons in any of several 2 seat helicopters and the skills transfer very well. The manufacturer recommends getting at least your safe for solo sign off
@@FlyNavy Thank you very much for answering my question. Regards from Brazil.
The cyclic shake seems excessive.
It was. It's been identified and fixed now.
How high can it go?
It can go as high as 12,500 according to the FAA. It's a turbine, so could go that high. But I've only had mine to 5k.
22:15 what is that
This has to be the coolest toy ever. Freedom in 3 dimensions, can fly from your yard, and has a turbine engine.
I would agree, but I could be biased. ;)
Came for the heli, stayed for the grass
Very nice.
Sorry. Isn't there an auto pilot, bro?
Nope. Seat of the pants. No hydraulics, no electronic stabilization.
Not cool enough and not a good title for the gabin design
There are lots of other youtube channels for you.
i’m from Ecuador, is really beautiful there🫶
Add a Hydra rocket pod on each side and We're Talking.
Would you recommend the XE 290? I’m stuck between the XET and XE 290. The 290 has the edge for me due to its flight time. Let me know your thoughts on both of you can. Thanks!
I would recommend it. I chose the turbine since all my time was turbine from the military. But the 290 is an excellent engine.
That’s awesome! What’s the top speed and altitude?
On the turbine, it's the civilian oxygen limit, I think 12,500. I'm former military so we never went above 10k without O2. I fly around about 80 mph.
@@FlyNavy that is so awesome! I actually have dreams that I’m flying in s mall copter! When I was in the 82nd Airborne our highest jump height was 3000feet and our lowest was 800 feet! Riding in helicopters was my ultimate thrill, especially when we flew nap of the earth! That was a ride of all rides!
NOE flying is fun. But these semi rigid underslung Cammy really do any of the negative g pushover you could in a composite hub helicopter.
@@FlyNavy I’m an old dude now and want to just take it easy! But to fly one of those would be the best!
How do you learn to fly this helicopter? Looks like there is only one seat
The factory recommends training in a regular helo up to at least safe for solo. I already had 2k helo hours, so I just took a couple of refresher flights.
Félicitations et bonjour du nord de la France 🇨🇵 . Congratulations and hello from the north of France 🇨🇵.
Thanks.
this is the closest we have to flying cars. The privacy, the easyness of use etc makes it almost like driving a car, except the price obvioulsy. So cool nonetheless.
Yep. And the price isn't bad. From about $40k to $80k. So a mid grade sedan to mid grade Corvette.
You have very nice flight
Very nice trip
Thanks.
