    Not even 1% of BJJ practitioners try to roll relaxed and conserving energy like Ryron does. His BJJ is almost like a spiritual ritual. My favorite Gracie ALL TIME!

    Rolling like Helio style really does annoy some people who trains in this art. But that’s the true beauty of jiu jitsu. Be calm and relax and let the other guy waste energy. Not many can understand it but it really opens up how the art can benefit you if you are a competitor or non competitor.

    Some people just hate, because they're not ready for change. Winning means physically tapping out your opponent therefore points does not make you a winner, maybe in the game, but not in jiu jitsu in general. Some people are just scared to be side mounted, mounted, or even back mounted, if you know the escape, should you limit yourself from being in these positions? Now that's real jiu-jitsu.

    The black belt Ryron fights is one of our teams black belts and pro mma welterweight Carlos Eduardo "Ta Danado" Rocha, his last fight was in the UFC, both matches that Ryron n Ta Danado had were really good each lasting about 9 mins. It wasnt easy for Ryron to submit Ta Danado, really cool to watch them methodically move around. It was a good performance by Ta Danado considering he only trained couple weeks for this tournament and wasnt in the best shape. Nonetheless great show of technique OSS

    Debatable. Keep in mind that his whole point was that this tournament allowed that mentality. It was submission only and lasted 15 minutes instead of the faster paced ones of IBJJF tourneys. He could be more patient and relaxed for that reason and let the other guy tire out a bit more before attacking.
    Plus, you have guys like Kron Gracie who I would consider to be a bit more traditional and he fairs pretty well at the other tournaments. I'd still like to see some more of them competing.

  • @KyleVass
    @KyleVass 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    his concepts towards relaxing when the other guy wants to work hard (i.e. for a takedown, pass, etc.) is great for Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. but that type of mentality will never win you a gold at the Mundials
    if you look at Gracie Humaitá’s competition roster, the only people who win world championships are guys who train outside of GH/The Gracie Academy. The Ribeiro Brothers play play a very different style of Jiu-Jitsu and Roger Gracie has worked a lot with Gracie Barra.
