I am confused at the placement of the seakeeper gyro and what needs to relocated or deleted. If it appears that guro goes into the leaning post on the 26 instead of under cockpit floor like other models, but if so, where do the batteries go? I would assume all or at least some of the tackle storage is lost when seakeeper is installed. If so, can you provide details? Do the batteries go into the head and therefore the toilet option is removed? Anything else change?
If you add the optional Seakeeper your engine batteries that would normally be inside of the leaning post are moved to the bilge. Then the Seakeeper battery is installed within the electronics area in the console interior. You are correct, you will also lose a portion of your tackle storage due to the size of the Seakeeper. Hope this helps answer your questions.
Man, I thought the Heritage 261 was awesome but this new Open 262 looks perfect too.
just ordered mine last week!
Congrats!
Single outboard or twins?
@@TheKCaryer Twins just picked it up last week😁
Beautiful! What is the wet weight of the boat? Will a 10,000 lift hold it?
The dry weight is 5,800 lbs. You can find all the specifications here, www.sportsmanboatsmfg.com/open/262-center-console/specifications
On this model, if you opt for the SeaKeeper, are you sacrificing the tackle station? Or, do you just lose the bottom drawer?
You would be losing the bottom storage. If you opened that bottom in the Seakeeper boat, you'd gain access to the Seakeeper itself.
can you get that leaning post on the 25?
You cannot.
