You are correct. At the time of this video, that information was not yet released...essentially we just had the price sheet listing the standard options which gave a strong indication the insert was changing at minimum. We didn't hear rumblings of the whole hull redesign up until around the beginning of June. That was obviously confirmed July 1st when Sportsman released the specs. The new hull is now 9'10" wide and 28'5" long.
Beautiful boat! My family just got a 2021 about a month ago and we love it! Its the same color's you're getting too. Do you know if the seadek was factory installed or did the owner have it done? its good to see there is a template already made.
Thanks for watching! It's going to be a long wait to take delivery on our order...hopefully they hold the date and we have it for next season. I believe the owner had the seadek installed after purchase. It was nicely done, but not something we will be adding.
@@theroyboys2 yeah, there was one left and we jumped on it, it was speced out pretty nicely so it has the twin 300s with joystick, dual Garmin's and the dome style radar so we got a little more than we would have ordered. The updates for 2022 will be real nice though! Good luck with it.
Nice to see how the 28 performs in the rough. I just ordered a 2022 282 last week!
We were very happy with it! What's the planned date for your new ride?
@@theroyboys2 - don't know yet. I signed the build spec, waiting for a build date. Guessing towards the end of the year.
According to the build sheet, there should be some nice updates coming...anxious to see pics!
If you are getting a 2022 isnt the entire hull redesigned. Larger, wider, heavier. I own a 2017 282 and the new 282 Open video just came out

She rides good...get us back quicker in sporty weather!

@@denali22wdmThanks! That sounds awesome! We would have definitely jumped on one too spec'd like that if there was one available
Whats the top speed and how does it ride
@@bennettblackmon2858 It can just hit 60mph. It rides nice, it's a little light in the bow but it does real well.
Love that model. Would be even better with a Seakeeper, but then the $$$ starts rising fast.
With all the increases for that year, we ended up canceling our order and are in a new 2022 Cobia 301. It's quite the fishing and family machine!
