Ugh I’m so glad somebody notices haha I do put unnecessary amounts of time into editing but I feel like it is all necessary for me to get my vision across. Thanks for enjoying it and making it worth it.
Can you do a lesson on left hi-hat foot speed, like pulsing 8th notes with a groove (especially while playing stuff with the right foot bass drum, and keeping balance and stuff)?
I started learning drums about 5 months ago. You know way more than I do but in my experience upgrading to better pedal helped me right away. A had cheap Tama pedal. The cheapest one they make and I played on that for about 2 months. Then I bought a Tama Speed Cobra 910. Immediately I was doing better with my foot speed. One could argue is was just a mental thing tho and I can't necessarily disagree with that.
Yeh i just picked up a Trick Bigfoot. Ordered from GC simply because it was an unbeatable deal and uuuuuhhhh, yeh, absolutely unreal pedal. And I do agree with what you said and I typed that GC b4 u just said you worked at GC , but, man i don't know. And I went from an Axis X longboard to the Trick and the Trick is far superior to my Axis and I loved my Axis.
__Another great video!_ I like how you are sharing an experience and not just a lesson,. I mean, you're not just teaching but showing the world your path towards improvement and growth as a drummer... nice job!
Bro i love your content and how you explain drums, simple, easy and fluid. As a matter of fact i was keen improving my foot doubles, execution, and speed. I was expecting something harder but now I have my work cut out for me 😁. Keep doing what you do @Brandon Scott, you are an inspiration to us all.
As always Brandon outstanding editing, effort level , and educational content with a perfect sprinkling of humor. I always crack up when someone attempts to tell me that using a double bass is somehow "cheating" and tell them they are cheating too , they say how ? , I say you have to stop using both hands and play single handed, why would you use two hands and cheat , then proceed to drop the " air mic and "exit stage left"🤣🔥🔥🔥 RIP Professor Peart 🙏 Ive played 20 years now and after my 1st year mark I started playing every drill with right lead, left lead with hands and feet to assure a very high level of true legit ambidexterity and total independence and that agonizing / rewarding practice routine has been super beneficial and opened the floodgates to ideas and killer abilities 💪🏻😁🤘🏻 🦶🏻
Great exercise! Love the succinct nature of this video. Nice & tight. For more kick patterns try Stanley Rudolph's 1-5 exercise. Just look up his warm up.
Really nice editing! On point explanation with a bit of humour. I love it. I'm not sure whether you want to keep that a secret but how do you add those drum sheets with the animation in your video?
It's Mike Johnston's groovescribe! (But i inverted the colors and changed the hue in this video) haha I use quicktime and screen record my computer... not sure if he'd be pissed that I'm using his website but i feel like it helps with the vids hahaha
@@BrandonScottDrums Thanks for the answer. That's what I thought. I don't think he would be pissed off. The whole software is publicly available. Based on that idea I'm trying to build a small tool which does exactly that to avoid the screen recording and cumbersome placement in the editing. Anyways keep up the great work. Your videos are getting better and better 💪
A brilliant drummer, but also a great entertainer. He could teach someone how to use a paperclip and make it entertaining. I'm not a drummer, but I can always use a rhythm lesson, and this is my preferred classroom now.
Hello, my name is ketan I recently bought a tama imperialistic series 5 peice drum set...I saw ur videos how to tune them and I am very thankful that it really helped ..than you so much...one of the problems that i am facing is I have kept my drum stool to the maximum height and I even I have some inclination to the lower leg while on pedal ..but I am finding a bit difficult to place high heel method.......in low heal method I am facing a bit difficult fro timing....is der anyway to solve this issue
2:40 thats almost everything you need to know. i am biting myself because for years i played double bass with my thigh muscles and right now i am desperately trying to unlearn that shit. as an autodidact i didn't know better
Great video, thanks for posting. Your foot motion is more up and down on the slow tempo, and goes more forward and back as you speed up. Out of curiousity, did you develop that technique on purpose or did your foot fall into that motion naturally?
Ahhh, what was the name of the song at the end? I used to have it on another SoundCloud account but if forgot the name:(. Great vid by the way, I really liked how you showed the difference between triplets and 16th notes. When ever I play quickly they always confuse me
The 16th notes with your foot ARE SO MUCH EASIER imo. I like to lay way back and play 8th notes on the hat and 32 notes with my foot. I always think like Larnel Lewis style!
This video has excellent advice on foot technique. Little nuggets of wisdom like, "You don't want to be sitting too low... like you're about to drop a fat deuce" ...
Hello. I removed stuff inside my bass drum and tuned it. Problem now is the annoying bounce of my beater to the head. I don’t wanna put a port hole in my reso head. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks.
Hey, you are just awesome bro. By the way, how's your bass drum and snare drum tuned for this video? Can you please share that? I have messaged you in Instagram as well.
The editing is so good and clean you don't even notice it. Such high effort vids. Short and sweet. Love it
Ugh I’m so glad somebody notices haha I do put unnecessary amounts of time into editing but I feel like it is all necessary for me to get my vision across. Thanks for enjoying it and making it worth it.
Totally agree
@@BrandonScottDrums totally worth it!! Cheers big esrs!
@@BrandonScottDrums It adds such a nice dynamic that just makes drum videos that much more enjoyable
@@BrandonScottDrums your videos are gorgeous and SO HELPFUL!! Please continue to upload often, I very much appreciate the lessons
The 1/16 note compared to triple from a double bass trained drummer was a eye opener.
Love those moments when something clicks. Glad I could make that happen for you!! 🙏🏼
Can you do a lesson on left hi-hat foot speed, like pulsing 8th notes with a groove (especially while playing stuff with the right foot bass drum, and keeping balance and stuff)?
Great idea! I will add it to my notes. :) Thanks for the suggestion!
Brandon Scott yeah I struggle with this so this would be perfect for me!
put the sticks down for a few hours
I needed this too. Great suggestion and yaay Brandon did make a video!
Best drum teacher on youtube
Thanks for your sharing..👍🏼👍🏼😊
Finally. Needed this
3:58 the way that it just perfectly lined up with the music is nuts :'D
Thank you for the foot camera, it helps a lot.
VERY good communicator. Tightly edited and concise. Love it.
Short and to the point.
4:01 FTW Bro!!!
You're good at the single pedal broo and keep making more videos like these 💯
Very good drummer and very educational....and funny!
You get bro! Keep it up!
excellent my friend I saw tons and tons of videos about slide technic...this one is a very good summary..thanks.

Dude your drums EQ is so perfect 👌
Excellent distinctions, especially, about the difference between 16th note and triplets. Thank you!
This is actually a real good exercise and you have to admit, kids got some speed! Well done, feel the burn!
I'll get to like..Brandon is the best!
I love his style of teaching 💪👏👍
Larnell lewis 🤭

Lodi!!
Like how you keep it simple. No philosophical bullshit.
Thanks man! This is really helpful!
Started laughing when you played William Tell! 🤣😂
It was one of my first songs I played in elementary band.
New lighting vibes. Sick bro
This is also great for left foot doubles speed (as a right hander). I know MY left foot needs it. I’m gonna start that right away. Thanks, Brandon!
Well explained my guy 🔥
Great lesson (as always) and, yeah... as others have pointed out, the editing on this video was an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Great snare sound by the way🔥
Loved your video! Foot technique is such a crucial part of drumming.

We can also do this with the left foot to build better double bass licks. Like [ LL(snare), RR(snare), LL(snare), RR(snare) ]
Great content. Your explanations are concise and your skills are true. Ty
...i kinda like the 1/16th notes, that was pretty dope.
U R da man!!! Big fan from Brasil! Thanks for the lesson! I"ll start right now!
Glad I found you. AWESOME ,THANK YOU

“You don’t want to be sitting super low. Like you’re about to drop a FAT deuce.” 😂😂😂. Let the Tosh The Drummer’s shit in piece bro! Hahaha

Hello. I removed stuff inside my bass drum and tuned it. Problem now is the annoying bounce of my beater to the head. I don’t wanna put a port hole in my reso head. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks.
