Also try throwing a bunch of RL in there. For example R ll rr LR l RL rl R ll rr LR ll R do it all continuously in fast triplets. Mitch Mitchell was the master at this stuff.

I was trying to see what heads he's using, and I look over at the floor tom, and I'm like "dude, is that emad on a floor tom?" Ive never seen anyone do that. does Evans make floor tom emad heads, or is it just small bass drum head?
You could take the first three pages of the Stick Control book and replace R with pattern A and L with pattern B! There you go, 72 variations of this excercise :)
I will always remember the RLL drum groove you taught way back in the day. Something that I groove often and then found the pattern making it into all aspects of my playing. Thanks for another great lesson man!
