@@wvufan669 Sorry, no such thing. The Rally Sport was an option for a SS, Z/28, or standard Camaro. It gave hide away headlight and other features. You could get Z/28 RS, or a SS RS, but not both. I still have pics of my second 69 RS Z/28.
Exactly what I was expecting this Camaro to be, the RS Z/28 as I thought they're more sought after (unless you're hopeful for an impossible Yenko). Isn't it so bizarre that us 80's/90's kids rolled around in, what are now, pretty rare and collectable cars. Restored a pair of '66 Fastback GT K-code 'stangs bought out of a field for $500 each. Now you can't find a shell of a B or C-code fastback worth a darn for under $20K.
X33 did come on Norwood cars. X33 denotes that it's a RS(Z22)/Style Trim(Z21) Z28. X77 means it's a Z28 without the RS package(Z22)/Style Trim(Z21) . Also Van Nuys cars had no X coding on the cowl trim tag. Van Nuys Z28's are not as easy to identify base on just the trim tag. That's when you need to start looking at part numbers on M22 trans, carb(DZ), block(DZ) to name a few. Of course protect-o-plates, build sheet, purchase receipts, etc become handy in identify authenticity.
Don't mean to be the 69z police but X33 is Z/28 with style trim and X77 is Z/28 without style trim. Rally Sport is it's own option and can be combined with either but not ALL X33's are R/S cars. Same with X77, it's no style trim but could be an RS. At least that's the way I read it on the CRG website. I know I've looked at several X33's over the years with standard front ends.
To answer Shawns question, Z/28 was rhe RPO (regular production order) think COPO designation. The Z/28 moniker was rhe first (and only?) time Chevy's ever marked their cars with the RPO number.
@@danielcate7765 That's correct. Just like I've seen X11 cars that where base cars and SS's with and without RS option but had the style trim equipment. To help identify if it's a true RS you have to look for the wiper motor part number and headlight washer solenoid, the correct grommet location for the vacuum hoses going to the dash headlight vacuum switch, rear backup lights under bumper, solid red tail lights and wiring harnesses. Of course it's easy to add these things to a non RS car and make it one as long as the tag for Norwood is X11(Base or 350 SS), X22(396 SS), X33(Z28). I have yet to find an RS that does not have the X11,X22, or X33 for the Norwood plant on the late type trim tag. The Style Trim features are integrated into the Z22 package.
The rear bumpers were a part of the F40 suspension package, which was part of the Z28 package and not plant specific. And available as an option on other Camaros.

Dennis great find on the 69 Z! I used to find 69 Camaro's in back yard or shop that hadn't run in a long time! During my life I bought 7 of them and was able to over time remake them into really nice cars. However today it is very hard to find a barn find 69 Camaro of any type that is worth the effort! Dennis I am amazed that you always come up with some of the coolest finds ever! As always I am looking forward to the next video!
@@timkinley1779 Tim there are basically three ways you find the so called barn find car. You go out and physically search for old cars. However if the car is locked up under cover you will not find it. And it is time consuming and costly in fuel but that is the way I used to find them. I found a Lemans Blue 69 Z28 that way but that was before they were worth crazy money. I bought it because I wanted it for myself. Another way is you network among the people you meet and as car Guys you talk cars. Sometimes you can get a good lead networking that way. In the mid 90"s I found a really nice 69 RS Camaro early production car with 327 and manual trans, console that way. In more recent times like Dennis you use the internet to achieve the same result. Finally!!! At age 18 my first new car was a garnet red and black 1969 Z/28. It was purchased in Decenber 1969. I traded in my 68 Mustang fastback which caught fire the night before. Of the 6 or so Chevy dealers in my area, there were only 3 Z's left. (The 1970 Camaros weren't released until 70 1/2 due to a strike.) Mine had the ram air hood, standard interior, front and rear spoilers, gauges, PS, and PDB. It also had the M21 close ratio transmission with 373 positraction.I live in SW Ohio so it was a Norwood car. I did have the rear rubber bumper guards. I remember the rear guards because my friend had to push my car when the clutch went out and slightly damaged them. Some trivia, late 69 Camaros had 8 grand (not 7) tachs, and side mount battery cables. One of my reasons for buying it was the 290 horsepower rating. It was really about 350 to 375. I could not have affodred the insurance at the higher rating. The sticker on my Z was IIRC $4200. I looked at Boss 302's, Cougar Eliminators, Shelby Mustangs and even a Datsun 2000. They Z won out. I've owned many other muscle cars over the years but I will always remember tha Z/28.

Dennis is the reason you don't buy rental cars.😅
Guys do that in the loading/storage yards before they leave the factory brand new. Hard to avoid people abusing stuff they don't own.
Preach
I’m in the equipment rental business and see this first hand! So when I rent a car I buy every bit of insurance they offer cause that car is gonna be rode hard and put up wet!

The collision damage waiver is the most fun you can buy for 20 bucks.
@@stevenbear1610 yes it is!
So cool to find out Dennis was born in 1965 the same year as me I was born on the 4th of july 1965....And would love to have that 1965 Mustang what a nice year for them!!
Oh my God, I had to take an extra Lipitor after all that fried foods
I have a 69 SS convertible belonging to my father sitting under shed for 18 years. Getting ready to go on market place also 57chev no post and 55 nomad station wagon.. Great show guys...
Thanks Sean P for the shout out on the pace car and thank you Dennis, and Zack for the awesome video.
Outstanding!!!
Bought my 68 302 Z in 1976, just started putting all the new parts on it that I’ve collected over the years, powder coat’s gas tank, sender, interior etc. has 73,300 with options - was heater delete
I remember driving by a Chevy dealership when I was 17... they had a crapload of Z Camaros in the used car lot. I could have bought (with my 17 yr old funds 🙂) any one of them for under $4000. I preferred split bumper Z's but they always seemed to only have them in this really nasty dark green. Amazing how Z's have survived.
Got mine for $1600 in 1975!
Dark forest green was the best color. Nobody else had one.✌
I’m the same don’t care for the box Camaros but love the 70’ 71’ and 72’!
That seems like a lot of food, even if you fed your crew, the seller's family, and all of the restaurant workers & customers. 😂
Y'all finally ate at a good place! Those roadside gas station cafes are true hidden gems when you're on the road. Let's see some more on the PACE CAR!!!!!!
Can’t wait to watch it
William Bill... I'm 61 and I've put A1 on my Philly cheese steaks as long as I can remember. If I make them on the flat top here at the house I'll mix it in while it's cooking and it caramelizes which really puts it over the top. I also put it on my pot roast. 😉
Anyone else thinking they would like to smoke down with Dennis after a deal then go chow down. ABSOLUTELY 😂😮😊420?
Another fun fact about 69 Z28 is the 4 speed shifter hole was cut out with a torch from the factory was very sloppy …
Well there goes your rental cars. They see this your done. Lol
Camera work is HOLY GRAIL,!!!
Dang. Even Rawlings doesn’t make his guys eat dog biscuits.
man the food was awesome. every town needs that place !!!!!!!the car was good too.....
Another sweet ride non stop cool cars love watching your finds 💯✌American Muscle 💪💪💪
Profile picture.. you're despicable
Great find on the Z28! And I'm just 🤣🤣 over the $300 lunch!!
From Colombia . Chevelle SS turbo- jet?.
Such a classy genuine guy you are Dennis.
a 1969 Kingswood Stationwagon!!!!!
And yet another amazing Camaro to the coffee walk team🎉
That list of food….😳
That guy is a legend more buys from him Collins.😉
Van Nuys cars don’t have X codes along with early Norwood cars
In the future Dennis when you press traction control hold the button-down longer than 25 seconds it will turn off traction control an stability Trac. Then it well work
The car is cool, but damn that’s a lot of groceries 😂
Dennis great find on the 69 Z! I used to find 69 Camaro's in back yard or shop that hadn't run in a long time! During my life I bought 7 of them and was able to over time remake them into really nice cars. However today it is very hard to find a barn find 69 Camaro of any type that is worth the effort! Dennis I am amazed that you always come up with some of the coolest finds ever! As always I am looking forward to the next video!
How did he find it? He knew nothing about this car's existence until the guy told him about.
So his way is just a more modern efficient way to search for interesting cars. If you watch the videos Dennis does find some of the most interesting cars you will ever see!
@@kickit59 The way he got this vehicle isn't found. Every video is titled 'Found' or 'Rescued' as way of self-grandizing when it is just buying vehicles the way about every else does it.
@@timkinley1779 Tim we have to admit the methods Dennis uses work for him! He does find some pretty epic cars & jeeps. And he seems to be a really decent guy which is rare today in the car reseller world!
@@kickit59 I'm referring to the titles only. Every video is titled found or rescued. It must be a running joke. Even Richard busted his balls about it.
I wonder how many of them 302 engines got scattered all over the road due to excessive abuse/missed shifts/ etc
Honestly
Can we get more Dennis doughnuts in all coffee walks?
Awesome!
Love it
I think that's one of the shortest episodes you've done in quite awhile
Some of the best tasting food comes from the southern states. They know how to season the food to wakeup the taste bud's. Man that catfish looks delicious and fresh. Some people know how to really cook. 😊. My favorite year for the camaro. Hands down.
I want that Biscayne to go with my Caprice…
Bisquick
Finally!!! At age 18 my first new car was a garnet red and black 1969 Z/28. It was purchased in Decenber 1969. I traded in my 68 Mustang fastback which caught fire the night before. Of the 6 or so Chevy dealers in my area, there were only 3 Z's left. (The 1970 Camaros weren't released until 70 1/2 due to a strike.)
Mine had the ram air hood, standard interior, front and rear spoilers, gauges, PS, and PDB.
Camaro..Cab,.😁😁
I moved to North of Atlanta where a lot transplants are. Don't get to hear that Georgia accent as much as I would like to .
Thanks to a great video I bought a 69 Z28 1971 for $1,600 it was tuxedo black with white stripes it was a JL8 car it had 14,000 miles original wasn't that old I had it for 4 years I chopped It Up made a drag car out of it my buddy still got to drive line and it's in his32 Ford including the jl8 rear end I did obtain a factory cross Ramwith carburetors years later but never used it sold it to a buddy had fun with the drag car but in hindsight she'll have left it stock my dad always said you're going to wreck the car you dumb kid yeah I'm old but I had fun have a great day
That's when it would have been very handy to have had a crystal ball. That car you described is up there with the ZL1, Yenko, COPO and Baldwin if it had the JL8 and cross ram from factory.
Dennis, gonna have to close the borders of Texas and Georgia! This is the 3rd find of yours from within 50 miles of my hometown of Acworth Ga,! Don't know how you do lt!
Its a Camaro!
Dennis, I always enjoy watching your Videos! You’re very knowledgeable about almost everything auto-related, very impressive. Stay cool! 😎
