I don't really count it, the giant red-white flash is a bigger indicator of hitting a weakspot than the damage numbers. Provided you have all the crit up stuff.

He said that the Bow was the weakest weapon in the game because it took him at least 30 minutes to kill any monster and that coating and charging makes no difference.
@@Hambs23 i use bow and it only took me less than 15 minutes to kill most monster the latest i get using bow is 20 min suggest him using mushroommancer for bow. Bow is my secondary weapon btw but i rarely use it now a days since i've been hunting monster using LS

I managed to kill a Rathian (though in MH4U) with a 2 minutes difference from my most used weapon, the Switch Axe, at the first time I ever used a Bow. From what I know the Bow is even stronger in World, my friend is just really stubborn in changing his playstyle.
So I have 3500+ hours of gameplay between MH3U, MH4U, Gen and GenU therefore I am pretty accustomed to the old fashioned way to play... But dayum, does world make a difference! I just love how World made every movement as smooth as butter! Frankly speaking I don’t miss getting trampled by weird hitboxes and ending being stunned over and over again! Neither do I miss Bullfangos charging at me! Also I don’t miss the climbing mechanic. What I miss is the Chef in MH4U which can cook your steaks 10 at a time! That is truly missed!
A lot of people seem to have the misconception of monster hunter world being easier because the monsters are easier and not the fact we no longer move like a robot that hasn’t been oiled in years.
For real, I just can’t go back to the older games anymore. Plus the people that say World is easier seem to forget about stuff like how you can just dodge into another zone to heal safely and other stuff like that.
Xportbob Well most times the item feature is used just to grab an item you forgot before leaving instead of canceling the quest like before. Eating again during a quest is kind of meh, only really good for the alatreon fight which is leagues more challenging than the old.
For some reason this makes me think of that one dude on Steam who is 'slightly' infamous for immediately kicking you from the party if you use the clutch claw. And I say slightly in the same way some users are slightly infamous for being trolls or posting really bad takes.
I'm not too surprised, the game certainly got allot easier when they added the clutch claw, and although it's fun and adds some more depth to the combat I can understand how some people wanted that previous difficulty. (With monsters getting knocked onto the ground constantly with the clutch claw it can get a bit cheesy)
It’s honestly so funny to see how people before world came out complained that removing the flex would make healing too easy but potion drinking took longer to balance it out, not moving while using items ironically makes it way harder.
"Odogaron was annoying to deal with, as I couldn't use Astera Jerky." Dude, I killed 70 Odogaeon before I realized Astera Jerky was in the game. So much crouching, I got it down to an art.
Gunlance might be the best option, especially for Shara, since you can't tenderise and you've got his thick first phase to contend with. Along with all the other armored targets of course, because the unstoppable shot damage is really good against them. And the shield, is a shield, so it's a good shield. The worst of times is probably going to be Shrieking Legiana, I think, though Nightshade Paolumu will be pesky as usual.

Learn to use a hammer. A hammer is always the least deco or gear dependent to be visible. I used to do G-Rank Rath, Akantor, Tigrex, Nargacuga and a few others without Armor, and only the upgraded hammer. Flash pods, Screamers, Talons, charms and the non armor buffs were allowed only no armor so with the new mobility of the hammer, you should be able to do the same. I'd recommend watching what we used to do for challanges. Rolling away from instead of only through the attacks is the safest bet. I do recall that Decos were allowed on the weapon so.
If you use gunlance at monster hunter portable 3rd, there's an OP autoguard glitch. It can guard instantly even while quick reload, and I abused this the whole game XD
God its weird to think my last Monster hunter was Freedom unite! As they transitioned to 3DS/Japan exclusive for years, never got Tri and World was/is my re introduction to the series, so much has changed.
bounties are essentially world's equivelant of doing side-quests in older games. In tri and 4u but not 3u. Not obtaining the spheres but selling them would suffice. As it was monetary reward back then.. do not understand why 3u got rid of subquests. 3u is very different from tri in quite a few minute and a major details(city change for hr quests is different and bowgun are major but subquest lack is another to note).
Lack of subquests in 3U was a bummer. Do you know what other changes were made between Tri and 3U? It’s tough to find a good record of these things short of watching an entire LP of Tri (but yeah I know about Loc Lac->Tanzia)
Gr8 run, but y'know you could've used a shell + quick reload into fullburst on kulu right? That was a thing even in 3U, and it had built in mind's eye on the slam in that game.
@@JosephC506 id use my HR set out of nostalgia some times, i can confirm u can beat mhw iceborne with HR armor, if you're like me youll even beat tempered elders with it, its doable, especially considering there are crazier people that have beaten ATs naked.
Dude, there are literally people doing mr runs naked... given with a mr weapon. If you use a hr or even lr i doubt you will be able to do it due to hp bloat in master rank
In MH3 you can rapidly climb vine walls tho... Sure, you can't use the grappling hook for faster climbing, but there is the possibility of fast climbing which consumes stamina just like in mhw
I never played monster hunter 3. Do you have a list somewhere that details all the rule changes you must follow in this challenge? Like you can't use slingers vs xeno but you can use screamer pods vs diablos? Also kudos on choosing the gunlance.
The hunter had to throw those screamer pods and paintballs in the old game, different animation entirely. In world you have to equip them on slingers, the throwing animation has been removed. So its fair game
The old games just don't had that mutch op abilitys that are easy to learn and easy to use it's more challanging than now and this is why i don't now shoud i play this Game? 😅

Wait a second and Monster Hunter 3 I'm pretty sure you can use the Run button to move faster on the walls like what's different with monster hunter World wall climbing?
I mean my friends and I are classic MH fans, so obviously we played through most of the game with classic rules. We were so used to it that it was not an inconvenience. However the newer options do make life a lot easier.
Next play it like a ps2 monster Hunter and as a LS main, or in other words a GS main with a katana and without charge attacks. And don't forget to map the attack buttons to the right control stick

When I started world I didnt use the mantles at all because I wasnt use to them since I played soooooo much Gen U and then I started using them a lot in MHW Iceborne
Actually I think in 3u you could use Tanzia chips to cure bleeding(if 3U had bleeding, idk, I didn’t get that far) so technically the Astera Jerky should be fine

-Sheath weapon
-Roll entire inventory for potions
-Use heal potions
-*FLEX*
-get hit by charging monsters
or simply run out of the map, drink potion, FLEX, comeback to fight the monster Lmao

Because in the older games there was only one camp, the main starting camp. So in worlds case that would be the camp found in area 1

It was introduced in MH4 with Seregios, so bleeding didn't exist, though Tanzia chips have the same effect so it should be fine
