Love the Quito airport and also the Guayaquil one, so much more human than the big airports. Just came back from Spain so i know what i am talking about !!Salut Karlito....
I’ve been to that airport 4-5 times now but I didn’t know about the business center across the street. I’ve used the lounge to grab a catnap, it’s comfortable and quiet. Not really kid friendly but great if you’ve come in late at night and need a place to crash until the sun comes up and planes head to Loja again. Most, if not all those eateries are closed when I arrive. Took this gringo several times to get comfortable in this airport (my Spanish is no bueno) but this video really answers some questions for me. Thanks, and hope to head back to Vilcabamba for the holidays!
Hola mi amigos, pinche guedo here. Long time no hablo. Just letting you girls know. I am in Quito. Yay. Next visit I'll come south. How wonderful this country is. If you ain't here, get here. Mucho Fabuloso. Keep up the great work
Thank you so much Carl. Ecuador is a lovely/stunning country to come home to and, your country is everything but 3rd world!! Many of the old European Colonial-wanna-be's are in a very bad shape compared as are many of our so-called "modern world" things, habits and not least mindsets.. Enjoy Carl... Enjoy all of your beautiful country, family and all the lovely Ecuadorians... My laptop and I are counting days... Take care.... And, thanks again... 🌹🤗🌹
Remember when I arrived at Quito Airport alone. I was a confident prepared newly retired USA citizen. Stepped off the plane. And was all but paralyzed with fear. Hahaha. No matter where I turned !!!! I was met with smiling helpful airport staff who could see past my confident newly retired USA fake face. Felt like a toddler just wanting to find his Mommy ( Hotel ) Being a little dramatic. But just a little. Haha. Learned a quick lesson. Ecuadorians will enjoy welcoming and help guiding you. 8 months later. Still being welcomed and guided. Muy Muchas Grracias Ecuadore !!!
So nice you show us how to go to Loja and also the cost. Carl may I ask you, Aero Regional has flights every day o just once per week? I 'll be next week there. Thank you Carl.
Hi Asdrubal - they generally have a flight in the AM and PM daily. Check their website here to confirm the day you’re traveling though: aeroregional.net/
Ah great to hear the catamayo airport is back in operation. Don't forget to pronounce it right Carl "pHARMacy". Whitemans sorcery making💰💰 travels well. How long from there to Vilca and cost if taxi / bus ? Thanks 🙏🏻
Thanks!! More details on getting to loja and Vilcabamba would be awesome! Many Ecuador content videos but general lack of info/tips for us to get there! From what I've looked at on flights, it looks like most likely have to overnight in Quito coming from the states then take flight to catamayo the next day. True? Also heard flightd to catamayo are frequently canceled and kind of unreliable. True?
People do it all in one day if they time it correctly. I prefer to stay overnight in Quito, get a good nights rest and fly to Vilca the next day. I’ve done it both ways and strongly prefer the overnight in Quito option. There are generally at least 2 flights on Aeroregional per day alone. I have heard of cancelled flights but not regularly. Send us a note to info@abecuador.com and we’re happy to help answer other questions you have!
@@AbundantLivingEcuador Thanks for the info! Yeah, I prefer to travel more leisurely. Not wake up ungodly early to try to make flights all in one day. Overnighting in Quito seems a better choice, easly low stress finish the next day. Briefly considered bussing it from Quito to Loja over multiple days to check it all out going south but day stops here and there just don't seem appealing to me.
It was surprising seeing a Cinnabon and KFC in Ecuador. I'm also surprised that airport security didn't find the cannabis seeds Carl smuggled over from Canada in his beard. 😉 Welcome home my guy
@@joshuacarpenter4477no McDonald's is very small in Ecuador. Only around 30 in the whole country. Only 4 cities have them and out of the 4, two cities only have 2. "Fast food" is almost non existent anywhere except for Quito and Guayaquil. Cuenca has a little bit but really only in the malls from what I have seen. Same with Burger King. The only other chain that you'll see out of the major cities is Carl's Jr. You'll find them in the occasional smaller town. But not nearly as many as KFC. On a related note even though Pepsi makes mountain dew you will not find any in Ecuador it is illegal.
@@joshuacarpenter4477there are only about 30 McDonald's in all of Ecuador and only in a total of four cities and of those four cities. Two of them only have two. In Cuenca they only had McDonald's in the mall. You also have a handful of Burger Kings but basically only in Quito and Guayaquil. The only chain that you see in smaller towns that I know of is Carl's Jr. Other than KFC. And it's not like they are in every corner. I think there's probably like 30 Carl's Jrs, but they're not only in the big towns for some reason. Even though KFC is dominating in Ecuador and is a PepsiCo company, they still don't have mountain dew because it's illegal. Lol

I actually find it interesting. As for all of us been to airports the last time I walked into an airport was 1975 Fort Lauderdale.
Wow! Just no desire to air travel?
My home country like you said, its not underdeveloped

KFC has been in Ecuador since 1975 there are a bunch of them over 150.
