Living in Ecuador 25 years I love it here wonderful people affordable for an old disabled veteran if I live in the United States I've been living under a bridge
Chimborazo has the highest peak on earth (farthest out to space). Everest has the tallest peak (when measured from sea level). Since the earth bulges at the equator sea level is much higher making the height of Chimborazo smaller than Everest. I hope that helps 😁
WOW !!! FEEDING HUMMINGBIRDS !!! SO~MANY AT ONCE !!! 😍😍😍💘 I am so glad that they didn't add red colour as that's toxic & kills birds !! Many still don't know this ! I just informed my mom's neighbour doing that ! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💕💞
Thanks for making this super helpful video. I plan to be in Ecuador next year so trying to ready myself as much as possible. I plan to bring my drone but couldn't find the local regulations. Anything that you can share about drone usage, especially in Quito would be awesome.
Thanks for this great video! We have 3.5 weeks to visit in Central/South America, i was thinking of Ecuador or Colombia, based on your video I am assuming you would recommend Ecuador more? Are there any other countries you would recommend we focus on
Hi! A LOT of people say Colombia is their favourite South American country but we are in the minority that don’t agree - we think it’s quite touristy & dirty to be honest. We much rather Ecuador and would recommend anyone to go there.. We cannot say the same for Colombia but hey, maybe we’re wrong! 😄 Also, Ecuador is really small with lots to do so if you’re stuck for time it’s a great option!
Hi guys ☺️ thanks a lot for this video - we took a lot of inspiration from it for our own trip through Ecuador. We are in Mindo at the moment and wondering where you went to feed the hummingbirds? 🐦
Hey thank you so much, hope you are enjoying Ecuador as much as we did ☺️ This is the Google maps location of where we fed the hummingbirds… maps.app.goo.gl/RwRYTm5SY9rsXepE6?g_st=ic If you are wondering about other locations, we always put them in the description boxes of our videos ☺️ Enjoy!
I'm going to South America in a few months and these videos are so helpful, thank you! What month did you start your journey in Rio? And what month did you go to the amazon? Im slightly worried about going to amazon in the rainy season because of the mosquitoes.....im very allergic!
Thanks for your comment ☺️ We started in Rio in November and by the time we made it to the Amazon it was February! There are a lot of mosquitoes in the Amazon. We had no trouble as we invested in some good quality repellent and wore long sleeves/trousers… But if you are allergic I’m not sure 🤔
Thank you both for the great videos. I'm a lot like you Mark, but a bit older. I was wondering if I could bother you with a few questions. My wife and I are considering retirement in SA. Mostly Uruguay.
@@SomethingToRemember Thank you. 1. Can you have a beer & watch football. are there pubs? (Irish/English/etc.) 2. Is the healthcare Western? 3. Do you feel safe with the wife/GF? Meaning can she go out alone without issues.
1. I watched most of the football I wanted to see at home in whatever apartment we were staying in because I wanted English commentary & I have a SkyGo account on my iPad, but I regularly saw English premier league matches being shown in sports bars especially in the bigger cities! Every country here has several local beers & they were good enough for me 😄 2. I would be lying if I said I knew anything about healthcare anywhere in South America… We were just visiting as tourists & it wasn’t something we needed to worry about. 3. That really depends on where you are. The smaller touristy places seemed fine but I wouldn’t be comfortable in the bigger cities when the sun goes down. We felt safe together at all times but we aren’t big partiers & didn’t stay out late a lot. Unfortunately, I’m not sure there are many places in the world I’d feel comfortable with my gf/wife out wandering the streets after dark…
Thanks a lot! As we said in the video, you can get dropped off the bus at the entrance to Cotopaxi National Park and there will be 10/15 white trucks parked outside. Agree on a price and hop in one of those 👍🏻
Thanks! We broke it up by staying in Rio Bamba for a night in between. From Cuenca to Rio Bamba was around 4/5 hours and from there to Banos was another hour and a half-ish 👍🏻
Baños means baths. People commonly call the bathroom baño, but the proper meaning is baths. The full name of the city of Baños is Baños de agua Santa, which means Baths of Holy Water.
@@andresP.A yes of course, however in the video he was asking about the meaning and I explained the meaning. Baños is a beautiful and magical city, it would be a disservice to this place for people to associate the name with being a bathroom.
@SomethingToRemember Oh...o.k.,I really hope it wasn't !! It looked like a horse lying dead ! My eyes aren't as good as before ,either ,so maybe not ! Hard to tell. I watched this on my smart tv ,though ! 🙏💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
Baños means baths, for bathrooms, no toilet 🤣😅 There is no controversy with Everest or Chimborazo, Everest is the tallest mountain from sea level, but Chimborazo is the furthest point from the center of the earth. It's worth taking a guided visit to Quito city center, it's not just an average south american city, a lot of historic importance and some very unique features. Nice video :)
In English, toilet can mean the room in which you go to urinate or defecate, not just the seat you sit on😂 In the video we said: "Ecuadorians think that Chimborazo deserves a shout too because the peak of Mount Chimborazo is actually the furthest point to the centre of the earth and the closest point to the sun, so it depends on what way you want to measure it really." We didn't say there was any controversy😉 We visited 51 cities in Latin America so we are also in a very good position to give our own, well-rounded opinion on what we thought of a particular city☺️ Thanks for your comment.
Big question im planin to travel to ecuador... but ive read alot about duanas rules bc im bringin my music equiptment and it worth around 6k, and im super nervous about they taking my equiptment or even make me pay a fee... how was the checkout when u arrived?
Thanks for your comment 😊 It’s difficult to answer that because we never put anything valuable in our “checked” luggage.. we keep our camera equipment in our hand luggage and never let it leave our sight! It all felt quite normal though and we collected our luggage when we arrived as always, nothing we’ve never seen at other airports!
@@SomethingToRemember Will they also check my carry on bag and do I have to declare my equipment when I land … or how does that work, thanks for your time
No problem but our situation was completely different to yours so we don’t want to give you wrong information! It’s best to do some proper research online about the entry/exit protocols of Ecuador 👍🏻
Is there anywhere else in Ecuador you would recommend visiting? ☺️
LOL, you got to my place when I got back to GXMU... what a bummer!!!!!

In 2 weeks! For 2 weeks! Waiting to enjoy Mother Earth there!
Why I'm seeing this, I'm from Ecuador, I feel like a foreigner, but this helps me if I want to travel and get to know my own country sometime. 😂
Moved to Ecuador 4 yrs ago and ZERO regrets living in this wondrous place ..Love from Cuenca

Great to know☺️ There are standard drone regulations in Ecuador😊
El Cajas National Park(Cuenca) is a big place. It offers a variety of hiking routs to chose from (1h, 3.5h or 8 h). Just saying! :)

Russia😊

Taller than Kilimanjaro !!? Wow !! It looked dangerous & very very hot 🔥 🥵
1 metre taller, we think! ☺️🌋
BAÑOS means SHOWERS or BATHS
TOILET- means inodoro, or toilette.
The words “baños” & “toilet” can both mean the room in which you go to the toilet - It was quite obviously a joke anyway.
Passed up the colonial city of Quito for an imaginary line.
We didn’t skip it☺️
Ok my friend baños means bathroom or take a shower. Toilet is toilet.
In English, toilet can also refer to the room.
Banos does not mean toilet in Spanish....
Any dictionary will say otherwise😅
Dutch accent….
Really?😅
Boring country. No cultural activities, zero nightlife.
Estoy es una estafa
Ecuador is boring! Compared to the other South American countries Ecuador fall to the lowest level
Which specific places did you visit in Ecuador?
Bad timing.
Mm?
Banos is NOT a toilet in Spanish…it means baths or showers. BANO is bathroom. Please make sure you understand a language before you post.
In English, “toilet” can also refer to the room in which you pee/poo, so please make sure you understand a language before you post 😊

They stop the gondola 🚡 in the middle of the gorge so tourists can take in the view. Nothing's wrong, Baños is very safe to do this kind of activity.
