263MPH 2JZ Roadster - FASTEST 2JZ EVER?! (Top Speed Runs Get SKETCHY Over 200MPH!)

- Could this be the fastest 2JZ powered vehicle ever? On this episode we follow Jay Meagher from Real Street Performance to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah for some adrenaline pumping top speed racing! In collaboration with the guys at White Goose Bar they built one mean 2JZ powered roadster, fitted with a Real Street 3.2L 2JZ engine, PTE 8685 Turbo, and Aem electronics. The Bonneville adventure was one of the coolest experiences of Jay's Career as he battles the new territory of land speed racing, mother nature and his own nerves achieving unbelievable speeds.
The final run results show up strongest in the engine compartment; no oil leakage, no fire, not even much smoke! What this team did to fix the problems is utterly magical, Genius level problem solving. For the car to run so much more smoothly over 200, then feel and sound so solid over 250 is absolutely Genius!
Congratulations!! When I make my homage and bucket list to attend Speed Week, it will be a day to remember.

Don't usually bother commenting, but I want to take a minute to show appreciation for documenting this.. So cool to see someone like Jay step up to a new challenge and see how him and the team approach it, how they measure risks etc. I would love to see more of these more detailed videos.. no need for manufactured drama when you are literally shooting for 250+mph IN A F*ING ROADSTER

Sadly for me, this is a bucket list item I've only done on a simulator for the time being. I wonder how similar it is to bombing around in Baja at 150. I imagine it's a bit like trying to ice skate forward with a wind sail blowing you every which way.

Too bad Jay didn’t do this in a MKIV Supra. I remember when Trust of Japan brought a high powered 300ZX twin turbo to Bonneville many years ago (90’s) and ran 260+mph, so I’d like to see a MKIV Supra do it. Awesome video and runs nonetheless.

That's absolutely phenomenal. Have you guys heard of the Slaughter Motorsport streamliner that was running a 2j? I don't think it made it to bonneville. It ran on the Australia salt flats

I've been searching for a 2jz top speed on video for a long time. Now if that 2jzgte with 2000hp, were in the ssc Tuatara that would be a better Tuatara.

SW and Tommy Bahn both did 240+ mph in the Texas mile back in early 2000's in their stock bodied Supra's. I wonder what they could have done with a little more room.
What kind of motor is in that and what horsepower also what's the gear ratio of the rear axle and what kind of transmission

@@joe125ful For a topspeed run to be official, the rule states that you have to the the run in both direction. The average speed of both run is the official topspeed. Which is why the Chiron's topspeed of 490km/h is not official, because they only went in one direction. Entiendes?
