This “Enlightened” New World utopia isn’t turning out to be all it was cracked up to be. Society is disenchanting, but are the only alternatives hiding out in the hills or burying yourself in books? With an air of levity and a touch of humor, John Heers teaches how to examine the confusing New World by calling upon the mind and wisdom of oft-forgotten Old. Heavy Things, Lightly.

Man, Fr. Turbo has a portion of the metropolitan Neophythos of Morfou vibe...
Wisdom?
Something happens when John Heers and Fr Turbo get together talking. They just naturally speak on the same level and very synergistic conversation. Eager for another Turbo/Heers episode in the future.
The only problem with helping people get off section 8 etc is that the govt designs it to penalize attempts at independence,; people are penalized for creating savings accounts over certain amounts. It's not that people like or want to be "stuck", it's the way the entire system is designed.
People do get out from time to time but it's the exception.
Saw this come up on my recommended and was like "who's this cool dude talking to Father Turbo and why's he so familiar?" Then I realized I met John at my Parish just a few weeks ago! He's got one of our young guys down in Guatemala doing mission work right now! Seems like not only is his organization doing great work but they're also facilitating very thought provoking conversations about deep poverty and community that I wish more people were having. Truly inspiring stuff!
Great is our God. ❤️🤙☦️
I think the best thing about these videos is that. Christ is made much more present within our own lives. Because its so very in your face. But why are we afraid of it? It’s just very gentle you know?
Ha haaa. I love you.
Incredible conversation, thank you John and Fr. Turbo. Time to build!
I don't follow your channel, but the video was recommended because of Fr. Turbo. Thank you for this. I'm a subscriber now.
Great conversation, John! Keep these going!
New look, same great flavor!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love you. I'll come to your restaurant at some point. Me and my family became orthodox. God bless!
Christ is risen! God bless you my guy. :) ❤️
That was a great conversation. I laughed out loud at the interrogation light comment. Also, I'm really happy to hear about Father Turbo's church being consecrated. That's awesome.
Loved this. Deep and introspective dialogue. Glory to God! Thank you Brother and Father.
Simply brilliant. Thanks be to God for this podcast
45:55 - Fr Turbo - paraphrasing - as Christians we’re not “con-servatives” operating from a mindset of scarcity, but pre-servatives acting from a Kingdom mindset of abundance. That’s paradox at multiple levels. 🎤💧

Just that whole minute.
Hospitality and the soul in all of the works, for the sake of God. Meekness. God is great.
First! Been waiting for this one!
Beautiful!
Really cool stuff. Need more for people to hear
is that a Beow's Books and Brews shirt?
Seeing life as an arena for judging good vs evil is the spirit of the antichrist. There is only love vs fear. "Love is that which enables choice. Love is always stronger than fear. Always choose on the basis of love." -Forrest Landry Peace, Love, Wisdom "whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." "I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some."
