this fight was good. shows the predators aren't just hunters but respectable ones. they love sport, they love challenge and they show honor to their quarry regardless if they won or loss.
This is true. I argued with another person on this same matter. The predators abducted certified killers and warriors mixed with psychopaths. They had guns, automatic weapons and each other. They didn't just kill them unfairly
>They show honor to their quarry regardless if they win or lose Except for, ya know, when they lose and then suicide bomb to try and take their sport out with them.
One of the best scenes in predator movie history from one of the strongest predator movies. Realistic, beautifully shot, while honoring not only traditional bushido samurai fighting style but also giving a great character redemption while allowing the predator to be cheered as well, we all know the predator was like, ‘fuck yeah, let’s do this shit’ I love how Hanzo stops running and says, I’m Yakuza, I’m Japanese, we don’t run. And turns back to face his enemy redeeming his honor. What a great film.
Best Pred fight in a movie ever. Only thinh thats lacking is that the predator didn't take his mask off before the fight. I feel like that would of made the fight so much better.
SickLikeAids The mask is a breathing apparatus. Yautja prime has more Nitrogen than Oxygen, so they need the masks when in an Oxygen-rich environment. They can take them off for a little bit, but probably better to keep it on for a fight.
That is useless, the Predator only does that when it engages in a hand-to-hand combat. In this case, it's more of a Samurai vs Wrist Blade. Besides, Super Predators do not do that, have you seen Berserker? The only time he took off his mask is when he defeated the Crucified Predator and roar with aggression before decapitating him.
I love how he holds himself together and waits for the predator to fall, then he reacts to the strike the predator lands such honor amazing fight incredible scene
Obviously there's no way to be sure of the writer's intent, but I like to believe that this Badblood, already the most honorable, was so impressed by the yakuza's bravery, that he decided to embrace his race's code of honor and fight honorably.
I like to think that, of the three of them, Falconer’s heart wasn’t really in this whole ‘bad blood outcast’ thing. Berserker was all about the outcast lifestyle, with a similar mindset to Edwin, wherein he feels like he can let loose without being bogged down by honour codes and judgement. Tracker doesn’t really give a shit either way, he’s just vibing with his dogs. Falconer, however, I get the vibe that he’d vastly prefer to be back with his clan and is having serious regrets about allying with Berserker, only tempered by the knowledge that returning home would probably just get him executed (assuming Berserker lets him leave with his life at all, which I doubt lmao). Berserker and Tracker are all he has left. Duelling Hanzo was probably the closest he’d ever get to restoring any of his honour, which explains his enthusiasm. I can’t help but wonder if, while bleeding out, Falconer felt a bit of gratitude towards Hanzo for killing him honourably. Better than a life in exile and regret with two dishonourable wackjobs as your only company, probably. This is all just my headcanon, of course, but hey, it’s fun to think about! Throughout the series, the physical acting/behaviour of the predators leaves a lot of room for speculation about their personalities, it’s one of my favourite things about the series.
Falconer was without a doubt an incredible Predator who redeemed himself in this fight, with a lot of honor, melee and no cheating. Hanzo also displayed great technique and incredible strength to take on that Super Predator. A very incredible scene and a lot of honor in this fight, *magnificent*
This is the scene we all wanted to see from the first film where Billy fights the Predator. Obv Billy wasn't supposed to kill it in that movie, but they only teased it and you were left to guess at how it went down. What I really like about this scene is the Predator injures him in their second engagement, but he holds on to the pain until he beats it, then he succumbs to his wounds. Total bad-ass commitment from that Yakusa warrior. I think this is my favourite scene from "Predators".
I remember seeing this in theatre’s. I thought the Russian Nikolai sacrificing himself with claymores was heroic, but the sword fight here was just badass. The lesson was in both cases is this: if you’re going to die, then take your enemy with you.
Absolutely 💯 🎉. It's time to prove to your friends that your worth a Damn, sometimes that means dying. Sometimes that means killing a whole lot of people 💯. 😊🎉😎
The fact that the predator could have easily went in with a stealth kill, and he decloaked himself and only went in with a blade shows that the Predators can be honorable.
You can see they both had some sort of respect for each other in this fight. That predator could have blasted him or not given him the chance to get back up. He honoured his prey by making it a somewhat fair fight. He didn't use his guns or anything else, just his blade. It was skill vs skill and in the end they both got a death worthy of any warrior. If the predator took of its helmet it would've been better but maybe that would've been too far as I'm sure it doesn't see its prey as a true equal. This has to be the best showdown fight of the franchise simply because it's not over the top and was really more about warriors meeting in true battle. This and the alien hide armour & the marking scene from Alien VS Predator has to be my fav scenes out of the new movies.
If I could change anything, it would’ve been the initial exchange and start of the fight. I would’ve had Falconer and Hanzo both slowly approach each other so they’re within striking distance; weapons still sheathed. In true battōjutsu fashion, Hanzo makes the first move, drawing his blade for a horizontal cut at Falconer’s throat. Falconer then extends his wrist blade to defend, both combatants clash and lock weapons for a very brief moment, then the meat of the fight begins. Just the random thoughts of a martial artist and stunt guy. I love this scene and this movie. Hell yeah.
That last move he did was a deliberate suicide run. He knew he wasn't going to win the fight, so decided his best move was to take the predator with him. And the predator fell for it, which just shows how much predators don't know about fighting (largely because of their reliance on high tech weapons and gadgets), and how there are things about humanity that even the predators don't possess, which is kind of the point of the hunting. They watch from orbit, documenting everything in detail, seeing and learning from their prey. The problem with the newer class of predators, is they are outcasts because they took genetic alterations too far. Instead of just fighting their prey, they experimented with introducing DNA from the best prey, specific DNA for specific traits, and if left unchecked, would completely change the purity of the predator race, which would essentially destroy them as a species. Just look at the alien-predator hybrid. They're feral. They are highly intelligent and a top predator, but completely lack any kind of culture or language even. I could see how this could create divides, because while some predator groups might see that as an affront to what they are, other predator groups would see it as an inevitability of evolution, and that not needing technology at all could be interpreted as superior nonetheless, even if their race does lose a sense of culture and technology. They could see it as a shedding of cumbersome things. So ironically what we are seeing with the predators is actually de-evolution in the form of biological upgrades vs advanced predator culture and way of life.
Excellent chereographed duel..underplayed but intensely reflecting both human and yakuza's commitment to the warrior's code. This scene grows on you over the years..you start liking and respecting the characters involved
I love these type of duals. Both respect each other. Both are outcast . Both chose to not play dirty. Both chose that there will be a winner n a loser. Proud Warriors
Dude, seriously. Just watched it for the first time; why wasn't it more popular? Great cast, memorable and likeable characters, excellent action, solid pacing. The only death that was kind of wack was Laurence Fishburne's.
I just lately noticed that they used the same bg music from the first predator when Billy stayed and waited for the predator to come. Two iconic characters who fought the predators head on.
So much about this scene is great. We are reminded of Billy from the original film with the same music that was played from his duel with a predator with a Japanese flare in the music at the beginning. The way the Yakuza stood up to the predator and never backed down. The way the predator kept the duel fair by only using his blade and none of his high tech weapons.
The one thing I've always liked about the predator is how honorable they are. They have all the advantages always but they always even the playing field and even give a slight advantage to the prey. They want to earn their victory or die trying.
Lived by the sword.. literally died by the sword.. sick of running away from what is inevitable . Death takes you no matter what but to stand and die fighting it is something else. Death is just waking from a dream.
They both may have fell in battle but Hanzo won, it's not about who struck the final blow first, it's about who was the first to fall and Falconer fell first meaning Hanzo won.
After seeing prey this is hard to believe. The amount of damage the feral predator took shows their outrageous durability yet this one dies in 2 sword swings LOL
Knowing where to strike and cutting a stomach open is why this predator died. In the new movie Prey none of the hits are deep until the brother starts getting real hits in and feral predator bitches out due to fear of losing so it cloaks and cheap shots. In the movie Prey the “honor duel” never happens since the feral predator is all about saving face instead of “one vs one honor fight”.
Damn legends. Both of them. Honor in their own rights. Yea, the Predator could of mangled him... but (despite these days) even honor in troubled times) seems in short supply, the Predator and Yakuza bro, went out together. EPIC.

@@edoardomorelli2912 ok and that’s your opinion and I respect that but don’t go around and judge other people because your mad there having fun
Also great commentary
👏👏👏👏
this fight was good. shows the predators aren't just hunters but respectable ones. they love sport, they love challenge and they show honor to their quarry regardless if they won or loss.
Only this one. The other two were vicious. That's why the clan rejected them. I guess this one tagged along because squad goals.
This is true. I argued with another person on this same matter. The predators abducted certified killers and warriors mixed with psychopaths. They had guns, automatic weapons and each other. They didn't just kill them unfairly
>They show honor to their quarry regardless if they win or lose
Except for, ya know, when they lose and then suicide bomb to try and take their sport out with them.
Jeff L yeah plus getting rid of their tech and evidence

I wish they would've done this with Billy and the predator from the original
If you listen to the music at the beginning of the duel, it's the same soundtrack. I think this is a nod to fans who wanted JUST THAT!!
there's a comics specifically for that scene that was cut out.
Ikr too bad it was off camera
originally billy was the one who defeat the predator
Julian Shipp J.R. It’s long been rumored that Billy’s death was cut out for being graphic - but this is not true. It was supposed to be that way
One of the best scenes in predator movie history from one of the strongest predator movies.
1:03 'fuck yeah, let's do this shit'
Imagine being able to duel a Predator in Ghost of Tsushima.
Ghost stance
Wait until it gets ported to PC.
Fuck me man lmao. I’m literally watching this scene as I have Ghost of Tsushima paused.
Holy shit im watching it
Maybe in the sequel as DLC
Japanese always go out like bad asses...such spirt and honor
John Montes ,it's their way of accepting their fate, die with honor.
If 半蔵 had that manly samarai yell, this sceme would be perfect
Instead he yelled like a mafuckin' waluigi
@Remy D nope most of chinese are not so brave as well for asia just japan not anymore
@Your Dad that was the vietnamese
Best Pred fight in a movie ever. Only thinh thats lacking is that the predator didn't take his mask off before the fight. I feel like that would of made the fight so much better.
SickLikeAids The mask is a breathing apparatus. Yautja prime has more Nitrogen than Oxygen, so they need the masks when in an Oxygen-rich environment. They can take them off for a little bit, but probably better to keep it on for a fight.
the reason it didnt is because this predator is a bad blood. It has less honor than regular blooded yautja
Still not better than the original Arnold vs Predator.
ikr should've taken off the mask just like the jungle pred. did in predator
“Of the flower, I am the cherry blossom. Of the man, I am the samurai.”

Lol wasn't that from the fanfic?
Ryu Hayabusa lol yeah

The most badass scene of all predator movies
At some point we should stop running, and face what we fear,if I die I die as a warrior with honor not fear.

“...die like a hero going home.”
I love how he holds himself together and waits for the predator to fall, then he reacts to the strike the predator lands such honor amazing fight incredible scene
the only scene in predator history that beats this is danny glover saying "who's next".
Apart from saying “Your move, pussy face”
“Danny Boi!”
🤣🤣🤣💀
Is the best scene of all Predators movies.
After the 2018 "Predator" shit............i was right!!
indeed
Still waiting for it to be free on one of the movie channels I pay for. But nope...... gotta wait or pay 10.99 for a rental
The Predator isn't as good as I hope it would be
I love his attitude fuck running time to fight or die but he it goes with me
Hail ODIN!
This scene reminds me so much of when Billy took his stance against the predator in the first film. I wish we could’ve seen that fight:/ rip billy
i love that the theme was the same one used with Billy's last stand from the first Predator film just slightly differentiated instrumentally
Love anything samurai . This scene rocks .,
Yakuza and Samurai are two very, very different things, mate.
Last Level Press Right
Last Level Press they are not that far apart actually. Yakuza originated from Ronins, who were once Samurai but lost their Lords
Last Level Press pretty similar in terms of organizational hierarchy, honor code, etc etc
1:45 That scene, his stance and the way the katana looks, in front of the fluttering tall grass, is the most anime thing i've seen
The fact that the predator could have easily went in with a stealth kill, and he decloaked himself and only went in with a blade shows that the Predators can be honorable.
Their whole culture is based on honor. Falconer wanted that duel.
A very impressive fight. Both were honorable warriors.
My favorite scene, the true fighting of a real man
He fought like Imam Ali... absolutely fearless...
After the latest predator non sense, I'm happy to see how this movie is getting some love by the fans.
I always liked this movie.
Most people would say that the bad blood don’t have any honor code but this predator shows respect
A predator movie in feudal Japan would be amazing
0:20 when the Yakuza decides its about time, he understands its no time pursuading him otherwise.
Hell yeah.
I personally would’ve added them bowing to each other before unsheathing their weapons, but nonetheless your idea is really cool!
@@joshuastrittmatter4188 too anime. True respect would be to part ways in peace.
I think you're right. But the last thing the Predator saw as he fell was his opponent still standing.
Did you watch other movies as well cuz damn bro, Predator knows shits.
The other Superpredator would’ve just blasted him
Died with honor, and took one out with him. Not too many people ever did that.
Honorable combat, he died a true warrior. i love the fact even the predators have standards for fighting
This movie was great and nobody can tell me otherwise
Dude, seriously. Just watched it for the first time; why wasn't it more popular? Great cast, memorable and likeable characters, excellent action, solid pacing. The only death that was kind of wack was Laurence Fishburne's.
Predator 1, 2 and Predators are the only good movies from the entire Franchise. This was a great sequel.
This Predator installment is so under appreciated and this scene alone is what makes it so special I feel

I loved this movie because of so many nods to the original.
This reminds me of when Billy stayed behind to fight the predator as well.
This Predator movie and the first Original are my favs…10/10
I just lately noticed that they used the same bg music from the first predator when Billy stayed and waited for the predator to come. Two iconic characters who fought the predators head on.
I've always been glad I went to see that in the theater. That scene was awesome on the big screen. Easily the best scene of the movie.
I saw this film but failed to respect this scene. Thanks for giving me a second chance.
This a shout out to billy from the original movie when he stopped on the fallen tree to take on the predator with his blade
If only we got this fight in 1987 with Billy and the predator...
that's gangsta
So much about this scene is great. We are reminded of Billy from the original film with the same music that was played from his duel with a predator with a Japanese flare in the music at the beginning.
The way the Yakuza stood up to the predator and never backed down. The way the predator kept the duel fair by only using his blade and none of his high tech weapons.
Hands down my favorite scene in the movie. The respect was apparent, despite this being a fight to the death.
Predator gave him Chance to get up.
This is the real fight.
Fight as a warrior.

The one thing I've always liked about the predator is how honorable they are. They have all the advantages always but they always even the playing field and even give a slight advantage to the prey. They want to earn their victory or die trying.
Still such a badass scene love how the predator instantly knew what was going on once that katana came out

How dark can you want this to be?
Dark enough to see your own reflection reflecting from a phone screen while watching the movie at day time.
01:20 Predator taunts him at first, but soon takes on a serious attitude as a warrior vs warrior. Why was this movie so underrated?
Cus at the time the movies were alot different this one didn't stand out as well and didn't have as much support with commercial advertising

Absolute legends who aren't afraid to fight a predator 1v1
Lived by the sword.. literally died by the sword.. sick of running away from what is inevitable . Death takes you no matter what but to stand and die fighting it is something else. Death is just waking from a dream.
Only man in predator franchise to kill a predator in a one on one blade fight
They both may have fell in battle but Hanzo won, it's not about who struck the final blow first, it's about who was the first to fall and Falconer fell first meaning Hanzo won.
After seeing prey this is hard to believe. The amount of damage the feral predator took shows their outrageous durability yet this one dies in 2 sword swings LOL
Sword swings >>>> bullets tho
You can get your stomach opened
A sword can have all ur guts leaking if ur slashed right buddy
Knowing where to strike and cutting a stomach open is why this predator died.
In the new movie Prey none of the hits are deep until the brother starts getting real hits in and feral predator bitches out due to fear of losing so it cloaks and cheap shots.
In the movie Prey the “honor duel” never happens since the feral predator is all about saving face instead of “one vs one honor fight”.
Best scene in the movie, this can open up a Predator vs Samurai movie
Hanzo and nikolai, my two favorite characters, they care for other people, sacrificing their own lives.
This is one Hell of a badass fight.
A life as criminal and die like samurai. Honor.
this is the best scene in entire predators franchise after the original
No fear! Fearless warrior!
Damn legends. Both of them. Honor in their own rights. Yea, the Predator could of mangled him... but (despite these days) even honor in troubled times) seems in short supply, the Predator and Yakuza bro, went out together. EPIC.
My sabunim/teacher likes to say, "Dying second is not winning" while I agree in principle, this was a win for the human.
Great scene
Both fight honorably
And die the same
Billys theme becomes legendary
Best part of the film
The Predators are all honorary members of The Dragon Clan.
