    To clear up any confusion, I would set your irrigation program to run TWICE the ONE day a week that you water. For instance, you might have a 4:00 am start time followed by a 6:00 am start time. This allows you to get down the entire inch of water in a single day, AND by spreading out the application into two doses, you're going to prevent a lot of the run off you would have experienced if you would have attempted to put down the entire inch of water in one application.

      This question may have been asked already, but I didn't see it. So what happens if some of those rain gauges show 1/4 inch while others in the same station show a 1/2 inch of water? Do you go by the low or high number or fraction?

    This video should have a million views -- so much imformation and explained so simplistically.

    Thanks for the tip. I have come to the habit of watering my front and back lawn every other day for weeks, for about 10 minutes in the evenings. And I don't get any good results back. I'm going to bump it up to one hour, for one time a week, as you suggested, and see if there's any difference. Appreciate it.

      Hey man. I fell for the same 10 mins every other day too. I saw your comment and just curious how did that work out for you when changing 3 times per week to one deep per week? Thanks in advance!

    There's a recommendation that I saw online that I've been using. The 12321 method. Early spring- .5" one time a week, weather warms more- 2X a week, very hot- 3X per week. Weather cools- 2X, weather cools more- 1X per week.

    I bought the same water catchers and they are great. I get more water with the sprinkler over throw area the water hits but not enough where the water is close to the sprinkler itself. How can I get more water in that area?

      You should ideally get head to head coverage with all of your sprinklers. If you’re noticing that’s not happening try adjusting/switching out existing heads.

    Great video, good tips, but where is the reference you used to water once 1 inch per week?

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I put down one inch of water based off recommendations from Texas A&M University.

    Would you recommend watering in the morning or night?

      I water in the early morning. I would say between 4 am - 8 am is ideal.

    In our subdivision (North DFW area) they installed drips under the sod for a few of my zones. How can I measure the output to know if I am under/over watering?

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh wow, I didn’t realize they were installing irrigation systems like that. I honestly am not sure. Seems like it would almost have to be trial and error. Definitely seems more difficult to track your water usage that way.

      @@LawnInsider Yes, I've never seen it done this way before. How do you water in the fertilizer if it sits on top of the grass and the water comes from under the sod?? Doesn't make much sense to me. Great job on the videos!! Lawn is lookin' awesome!
