Great tutorial as ever. This demonstrates the need for a structured system, and shows just how much preparation work goes in the background. I've never had to make shaker doors on that scale...10 sheets, 64mil rips! We must be talking a wheely bin of dust.
I have to say, for me personally, the real challenge, and what really takes up most of the manufacture time, is the preparation and painting. I can only imagine what a slog it must be, having to samd and paint to that scale.
Thank you!!!
Yep you Nedd a system for sure, that then makes the job alot easier.
And yep it filled up the whole saw 🤣 (need to sort my extraction).
With the airless sprayer it's not hard, plus sanding each door once undercoated only takes about 6 or 7 minutes, so it's not too bad, once you have your system set up and in place 👍
Love the simplicity, well explained video
Cheers mate!
Great video !! thank you , enjoy youre weekend !!!
Hello Michael, I do appreciate it 👍
I hope you're well and have a great weekend too 👍
Great video
Why thank you... ☺️
Good video Ryan. Where would you be without Sean? 👋👋
He's been trained well 🤣
No, but he's brilliant !!
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop I can see that. What a team.
@hi-tech55 thank you.... 👍👍👍
ryan can you recommend a slightly better than entry level sprayer for clear coat and paints
Hi, I have the gxff and used to have a few 390s (I always use graco).
I can only advise on what I've used, and the airless type, as I have only used airless.
I'd say I'm pretty happy with the gxff, I don't use it much but it does a good job.
If your looking to sprayer medium s8zed jobs frequently, I'd go for the 390 pc. 👍
cheers will be small small to medium and not all that often @@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop
@CityWoodDesigns yes then a gxff or gx21 possibly. Watch some videos from spray direct on these 2 sprayers, they'll give more info.
Also, I've also bought used sprayers, can get them for half or less of new prices 👍
i was watching this on x2 speed by accident and thought have you lost the plot with your editing 😂
Hahaha you must of thought I was on something 🤣🤣🤣
whats the blade kerf?
2mm I believe 👍
Do they not bow as they are only 18mm thick? And also how many coats of undercoat do you spray? Thanks
It's a balanve of keeping them light weight and strong enough. I believe this method offers both.
They stay pretty flat, sometimes some movement once sprayed, but I've have that on every other method I've used. I've never had a major problem when fitting the doors.
I spray 3 coats in total on each face. First coat then rub down, then final 2 coats. 👍
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop thanks, so is that one undercoat and 2 top coats I guess? And you don’t worry about sanding between top coats? Also should it look quite patchy when doing first coats as I’m in the process of learning but don’t want to spray too thick? Thanks mate

@mananddog9884 yes 1 undercoat and 2 top coats. You can sand between each coat but I generally only sand once after the 1st coat of paint goes down. I have a few spraying videos that explain my process in more detail 👍👍
see u got that leak fixed then
I did, buckets are a precaution
Don't think the Shaker's used fiber board.
Interesting work.
Haha good point 👌
Guess it's a term now for the look ....
@@thelondoncraftsmanworkshop if you see a spike in the analytics around the ten minute mark, it took two minutes of back 10-20 seconds to get the link to function. My fat fingers and hardware issues are to blame. Have a good lunch.
@benjaminbrewer2154 haha , oh no, was there a problem with the link?
I don't have any control over the way they are displayed but hopefully you got there.
Haha the extra rewinds to help the analytics though 🤣🤣👍👍👍
