Your puzzle piece analogy is perfect for this episode. Important piece that doesn't fit anywhere yet. Regarding some of the cases not making perfect sense, I think it's easier if you treat the show as a character driven show rather than a case driven show. It really isn't a buddy cop show, it just happens to be set in a cop environment. The cases are rarely as important to the plot as they are to character development.
In the very first episode, Lucifer asked: "Did my father send you?" when he realized his mojo doesn't work on her. And here in this episode, Amenadiel answered: "Yes" Lucifer also asked: "What do you desire?" to Chloe in the pilot. And here, Chloe answered with a loud: "I choose you, Lucifer" to everyone.
As nice as that may sound on first thought, I'd have to disagree with it: a) Facilitating conception of a person is in no way the same as sending that person, certainly not in the way that Lucifer meant. She's not here doing a job for God, she's here living her live. b) Lucifer, or being with Lucifer, is nowhere near the top of Chloes motivations. Your comment makes it seem like that's what she was all about ...
No spoiler: remember father Franks (S1 E9) final words.." Remember Lucifer, your father has a plan". And also, now you "know"(more or less) why Chloe is not affected by his 'desire' mojo.
You are so right with the puzzle piece analogy. This show presents little puzzle pieces all throughout, sometimes blink and you miss them. Sometimes multiple pieces fit together from many different episodes. To eventually reveal the intricate tapestry of story threads which once whole is quite expansive and rather lovely and satisfying.
Lol. I am really enjoying watching your reactions. Some of the puzzle pieces are out of the box & some are still in the box. This season is a very fun ride.
Nice thing about this series is , it will answer near every question you ask. Eventually . By this point in the series we had sealed numerous questions and answers in a envelope and had it placed in a safe . We left it until we all four watched the finale , then opened it together . No close guesses AT ALL .
Rebecca De Mornay (Penelope Decker) took a train ride with Tom Cruise in movie Risky Business (1983) with same music playing as when Chloe & Lucifer meet up at end of this episode. Timing seemed pretty much 35 years before this episode as well.
You can't often tell that the first 2 seasons were filmed in Vancouver. Yet, the fight scene at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden stands out to anyone from Vancouver.
Anna, try Mango lemonade. It's avaialble most everywhere. Over ice: juice, vodka, club soda. Very refreshing in the near 100' heat on my balcony today. Yes, she has met Amenadiel -- a long time ago. Yet another twist that will test Luci.
Thank you for a very fin reaction to a fun episode! Love your uncertainty about if you really want them to kiss already - you have an excellent sence of timing and narrative archs!
He knows All... and Sees All! From the Moment... He said, "Let there be Light!" (The Creation of the Archangel, Samael, "The Lightbringer or Morning Star") He put His, "Divine Plan" into Action... for Luci!
14:49 I am still stunned you SAW the car DOWN THE ROAD blow up, KNOWING they were standing BY Chloe's Car, and still thought it was her car that blew. how did that happen?
The answers to how Chloe is special is in season 4 or 5, and the grand plan of Dad for Luci is revealed in the last season. A bit spoilery since you now know those answer will be revealed and approximatly when.
I mean that Ameanadeal thought that he was just following his father's orders and doing a good thing helping this couple to have a child, not that that child would be used as part of a long-term plan to manipulate his brother and him being a part of it would cause himself to loose his powers and his home. Lucifer has very very good reasons to not trust either of their parents. Amenadeal is only just learning how twisted both his parents can be. Also Cloe is being used by God as a paun in all of this to bait Lucifer, she might seem like she has free will does she really?
@lukasr5867 yeah Ameanadeal thought he was doing a good thing helping this couple to have child, and following his father's orders not that she would be used in their father's manipulations of his brother . Lucifer doesn't trust either of their parents for good reasons. Ameanadeal had no idea of the repercussions of doing this ie. Loosing his powers and his home 😢 and as for Cloe she is little more than paun in God's plan for Lucifer what freewill does she really have?
@@roseannecomaskey6890 Well, if you believe that God in meticulous detail work steered every second of Chloes (and everyone elses) life, then ofcourse there is no free will at all and we're just a puppet theatre played by God for his own amusement. But that's not the typical interpretation. Usually it's assumed that God merely set the ball rolling and then leaned back and watched it unfold. Everything else happening after that is peoples choices. Amenadiel CHOSE to interpret his role as being "responsible" for Lucifer, CHOSE to try and bring him back and CHOSE to use questionable methods for that, which ultimately cost him his wings (there's a bit more to that but that's for later seasons). His own free will led him to these consequences. Same for Chloe, she had a whole life of her own choices, without even knowing anything of celestial beings (so far anyway). She chose to try acting, then chose to follow her fathers footsteps to the police, chose to marry Dan and (presumably) chose to have Trixi. Where DOESN'T she have free will?
Quote from Anna 'I dont know if I want them to kiss yet' I think your doubts will vanish with the next video. At least unknowingly. 🙂 Chloe is a hot topic among all TH-cam reactions, escpecially the reasons God had to do so. At the moment, it's too soon to discuss it. I think if you just continue to watch, you will gather more info. But you'll need some stamina, because this specific topic may re-appear every now and then. With episode 2x06, the show started a rollercoaster of emotions. I see that there are still no seatbelts attached to your couch. Please catch up on that ! 😉 I also strongly suggest to have these items ready: tissues, some sweet Candy, a strong drink. You never know what this show does to you. 😃 🤠 👹 😶🌫
I really dont understand Amenadiel's reaction here. Angels are expressions of God's will. They're the ultimate OG pawns. Its just another wedge that "mom" will use to alienate him from God.
I agree; the only reason I can think of is that mom has already poisoned his attitude towards dad. Remember Amenadiel was blaming dad for Uriel’s death too, since he didn’t intervene.
IMO, NOTHING that has been done will allow her back in heaven. And as people have been saying, HE SEES ALL. So he has seen every bad thing she has done to only benefit HER. She is not thinking clearly. She is acting like a child that just snuck out of their crib. But she thinks that she has done nothing wrong. Just my opinion there. Great Post.
"lucifer is the best partner I've ever had"....Lucifer's face was priceless in that moment...
Lucifer to Chloe over coffee in pilot episode: "Did my father send you?"
Think of a chessboard and how to prepare moves. Lucifer said it in the episode with the priest on the balcony: "it's all a game to you."

Great comment, then I looked who said it- I should have guessed it was you. we think alike!
@@celiafox350 Actually I was paraphrasing your excellent insight with the tapestry of story threads concept.
I will say, no show ever blue balled their audience the way Lucifer did when it came to their leading actors 😂
This episode and the next are my favourites of season 2, still lots of twists and turns to come.

Oh, wow! I never made that connection before. Excellent!!!
Except the Song in Risky business was "Love on a Real Train" by Tangerine Dream.
24:28 Just what We said in that moment. You thankfully don't have to wait 7 days.
When an episode ends with a cliffhanger just like that i always said to myself, Damn it Jerry (Bruckheimer) not again 😎

So much for FREEWILL 😂❤
Do you care to specify what particularly in this episode you think works against the concept of free will?
