  • Auto Ease Power Liftgate installed on a 4runner. IN NO WAY SHOULD THIS BE CONSIDERED AN INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO...its just footage I captured during installation. Hopefully it'll give some insight to someone else attempting this projectin the future.

    Just wanted to tell you that you were so close to get the OEM look for the Autoease. Like you I was having the biggest issue running the wires through the back gate, they don’t fit! Period... I end up buying a pin remover key set on Amazon and removed the pins from the conector and then I was able to run the wires. Too bad I did not recorded my install! Because of your video I’m thinking on installing my foot sensor, I left it out due to the lack of instructions. I might do it now thank you you.
    Thank you for the video.

    It looks like the installation probably took a long time. After going through the install, do you still think it was worth it? I really like the idea of it but not sure I want to spend a day or more trying to get it working.

      This is my mom’s 4runner. I think it was worth it for her. She’s in her 60’s and it makes opening/closing the rear hatch that much easier for her.

    If you were to charge someone to install this? How long would you say it takes?

    • @tundrabuilt
      @tundrabuilt  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Being this was the first time I installed this using the instructions…it took me the whole day…approx 12 hrs. Part of that was relocating the module and having to cut/solder extend some of the wires due to the new location. It’s the wiring that took the longest, and I hope I don’t ever have to do another one, haha.

      No issues so far, other than we never fixed the "hard" shut from the beginning.

      I didn't buy it so I don't have the link. A good tool to use might be Google search, and input the title.

      the answer right on the title. "Autoease"

    Were you able to adjust how hard the tailgate closes, or did it close softer on leveled ground?

    • @tundrabuilt
      @tundrabuilt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haven't adjusted it. I keep forgetting to email Autoease to see if it's possible. It still closes with a bit of force on leveled ground.

      @@tundrabuilt thanks for the info! 🤙🏽 I ordered one for the wife’s 4Runner and I got the installation manual by emailing the company. So just waiting for it to get here and try it out myself.

    • @tundrabuilt
      @tundrabuilt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did a Vegas build too…on my daughters 4runner. See my other videos…pretty similar, but the Vegas 4runner has more additions.

    If you can’t open a tailgate with your arms, maybe you should get a highlander. Next make it a hybrid to get more mpg

    • @tundrabuilt
      @tundrabuilt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No thanks, I like the power of my 6.2L v8 and I could care less about mpg. Or were you referring to my mother's 4runner? She's in her 60's, and it makes it easier for her. Also, the 4runner is more capable than the Highlander for what my parents use it for.
