Hi! I bought the silicone sleeve and a tempered glass lens. Do you think that's enough? or should I get the Rollcage? Also, do you think that the rollcage will fit even if I already have a glass lens?
I havent yet used the tempered glass on my gopro so i cant tell for sure , i guess it could still work with rollcage , If its better nor not its hard to say peobably depends how bad the impact gonna be rollcage lens is like 2mm thick , guess its thicker than tempered glass :)
Mario, if you have tried using the tempered glass with the rollcage: 1. Does it fit and work? 2. Do you recommend it? Thanks for asking! I've looked everywhere for an answer to this. Just bought an 8 and looking for the best way to protect it.
Guess it can if you use it i. 30 degrees tempa etc for extended time i normally do t record for that long usually 1 min max so dont experience any issues
If we calculate it... using the gopro 7 as an action camera, we would have to replace the lesne protector at least 2-4 times a year so its what, 40-80€. If we have the gopro 8 and pay for the Plus programme which is 50€/year AND we get a new camera everytime we send it for exchange in case of breaking the lens or screen etc (limited to two cameras per year). Ps. I have seen the lense protectors for this sold sepperately. Thanks for the video! I like your content 👍🏽
Heey, thabks , you can only replace your camera twice a year with plus subscription and fees apply ;) so its not for free , im planning on keeping my camera most of the time in rollcage for now and use protective housing for some more extreme situations :)
Tomasz Nowacki I have seen it on some camera online stores here in Finland, not on the gopro site itself. About 15€ seems to be the price for the screen protector part only. Seems to be out of stock in lot of places tho. www.superkuva.fi/gopro-rollcage-lens-replacement?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpcCu2oHU5wIVxKiaCh1BDA2rEAQYAyABEgKVRvD_BwE.
Hi I just ordered the roll cage for my Hero 8, I also currently have a tempered glass on it, should I remove the tempered glass or can it be used with the Roll Cage as well?
Yes, the 8 fits in the roll cage with a tempered glass protector installed. But here's the thing, if you are gonna always use the roll cage, the tempered glass is now redundant, and it's a third layer of glass you're shooting through. It brings in the possibility of more lens flares and color shifts. I would do some video testing in bright sunlight, and if the video is not really affected by the third layer of glass, then by all means leave it on. If you do notice some degradation with the tempered glass installed, vs. just the roll cage, I would ditch the tempered glass. The roll cage cover offers substantial protection. The general rule of thumb, the less layers of glass you shoot through, the better.
If warranty is covered only if problem lies on gopro side then its not "lifetime warranty" . How can anyone actually notice a problem that lies on gopro side, lets say after 5 years ? If problem lies on gopro side u will notice it immidiatelly or during a first use (maybe a month or so)
hey, well perhaps you are right , i wasnt sure if normal wear and tear would be covered as well , need to ask gopro about that or finally read that lifetime warranty information attached ^^

Nice video but GoPro fucked up. Lol. Made h8 smaller basically by getting rid of the lens cover. Then makes it one of the biggest by having to use their roll cage and protectors.
Yea i agree , we used to have a dive hoysings and frames in the package , now price stayed the same and if we want those have to pay extra to get it, its nice its smaller but as u say its more vulburable
Thanks for the audio test - that's what I wanted to know! :)
And thats ezactly the reason i made it :) glad i could help
There are several holes/audio chanells in the rollcage for the microphones. Anyhow nice video.
Thank you :) keep getting better and doing my best :)

I want rollcage + lanyard
They could add some attachme t for a lanyard !
I have gopro10 but buyed this silicon protection thing... now the glass doesn’t seem to fit
Its for GoPro 8 :) its not gonna fit gopro 10
Thank you for the audio test man, also which one do you think is better to buy? 7 or 8 considering the price + the rollcage.
If u only cam afford it i recommend 8 more tham the 7 for its great stabilisation but u gonna need some protection for that lens
@@Tomasz.Nowacki thank you man, Ive decided on the 8, also bought the rollcage with it. Kinda expensive but hopefully it will worth it :D
