    Thank you so much for the tip on changing the custom settings with the buttons!!!! Why anyone else did not talked about this...? That was literally the thing that has kept me from getting the hero 8 and i have been looking for the dji which has the mode button cause i really cant open my dive case for what im using the camera for! But then again gopro has the superior video quality in my opinnion. U just helped me to make my desicion very easy! And i really did not want to go that Dji route 😂 thank you sir!

    Very useful. One of the problems I have is the size & pressing the control apps.
    I did not know hitting the shutter button & the mode button changed the settings. This explains why some of my
    videos were unusable. I must have had my finger on the shutter when changing from picture to video.
    Stay safe, Joe Z

    Great videos. Truly. One suggestion: For videos like this one, crop/zoom closer to the GoPro. Make it easier to see its menus. As is, the GoPro takes up about 1/9th the TH-cam screen. Your hands, however, take up nearly 50% of the screen. Something to think about.

To reenable it you can go to a shooting Road such as “cinematic” And reset it back to default or exit the properties of that shooting mode and scroll to the bottom and there you can set what buttons appear on the screen

    I just ordered one, a 1st timer. Can you start and stop a video then simply start it again? I have video capabilities on my Nikon D7000 DSLR but as soon as I turn off the start button it doesn't continue the original video the next time I start it again. In other words I can't pause it.

    • @AirPhotography

      Every time you hit stop recording and then start recording again it will create a new file

    • @CapeAnnImages
      @CapeAnnImages 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AirPhotography Thanks! That's not good, I see other videos where it appears there's a seamless change in camera angles. perhaps they are using a different camera or editing files together. It's much simpler to just hit pause then move the camera and restart it.

    I am just wondering how bad the battery drain was throughout the video :), each 10% battery loss is like 10 mins of video footage gone..!!

  • @dugsbugs1
    @dugsbugs1 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know this video is old but you cannot use a powerbank with the battery installed if you want to record.
    You need to remove the battery if you want to use a powerbank.
    You will see if you leave the battery in, when you start recording, the charge icon goes out and it reverts back to the battery.
    This is to stop the battery from overheating and is a real pain. I think the later ones have fixed this issue.
    You can have both for timelapse but you need to have a 2nd constant power draw on the powerbank like a usb light so it doesn't shut down when the gopro battery has recharged.
    I have 3 gopro 8 and they are probably the most problematic gopro's I own.

    Thanks for your video. Great content! I have a question about my GoPro HERO8 Black but need some introduction first.
    I have a long road trip from Florida to Oregon. I bought a GoPro HERO8 Black to record the whole route in "real-time" (no timelapse). I want to upload the videos on YouYube in 4 parts. Each part is 8 to 9 hours driving (I will stop the camera to rest and shake my legs every 3 to 4 hours). I will mount the camera inside my car on the official GoPro Mount. I want to do minimum effort after recording (no color grading, no lut, no music ....) as these files would be huge and rendering takes forever! For storage, I have two SanDisk Extreme Pro Micro SDXC UHS-I U3 A2 V30 Memory Card (256GB). For battery, I have two of them, a charger, and a 20500 mA power bank. Also, I have the easy option of connecting the GoPro directly to the cigarette lighter charger. With this introduction now my question is:
    What setting do you recommend on my GoPro for video recording of this long trip?
    P.s.: Please let me know if you have any advice.
    Best,
    Ehsan

    I have a question here sir, so you plugged in power bank and GoPro started charging, so can you actually record while charging? and does it charge the battery? I am asking that because, I plugged in the wall charger and it was not charging the battery though it was showing the fluctuating animation..!!

    • @AirPhotography
      @AirPhotography  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can you can record while charging. Many people make use of this feature when Moto vlogging for capturing a long time lapses

    • @TheCommonManOnWheels

      @@AirPhotography Thanks for the revert..!! Actually, I was talking about the wall charger, I had the battery inside the GoPro and then I started charging it using wall charger, the battery was 5% and it never increased beyond 5% after 30 mins, then I switched off the GoPro and then it started charging..!!

      If you have the camera mounted, you should set the orientation. Otherwise, the internal gyro can get confused to the camera orientation when first turning on to record, which will result in video being recorded upside down or even sideways.

      DANIEL Rogness set the orientation to ? It was previously on landscape when it happened the first time, this morning I set it to ALL, same thing happened 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Is it normal for the battery to run out so quickly and for the camera to heat up?

    Do you have any idea why this GoPro won't charge while recording? Mine won't allow me to record and charge at the same. I am trying to do extended time lapse (8 hours). Thank you.

    Can you time and date stamp on the videos ?
