Cristian Constantin's Bizarre Adventure I just turned my G15 to 60hz in Windows settings and I’m also getting a strangely significant improvement! It shouldn’t matter that much though since it’s an IPS panel, because the backlight generally takes way more power than the controller. Weird!!
I will take the A15, for school also. Because the bezels are small its a Little smaller than my current laptop. It also weighs the same. So its not too bad for me

@@shaktisingh2773 If you set TCP on A15 Ryzen Controller to 9W/11W AND undervolt your GPU, temperatures will be around 85/90 degrees Celsius for heavy gaming. You can drop TCP even lower for lower temperatures but at the cost of FPS.
This is really the comparison I was looking for for quite a while. Thank for this. I'll probably choose the G14 now since the G15 has thermal issues and the TUF is just a bit too big for on-the-go work (not that there's much work right now).
Being an interior designer i guess the g14 is the best option. Great specs in a sleek design. Perfect for working as well as taking for client meetings and conferences.

Had the same exact idea. I can’t find the 144hz g15 screen’s serial/code, but I know it’s srgb percent is the same as the a15’s 144hz. If the g15’s 144hz display is the same as the a15’s, then I’m pretty sure it’s 240hz panel would work with the a15. 95% srgb 3ms 240hz ips 350nits Pantone :) Huge upgrade if it works. Thanks for this, excellent comparison review. For content creation, it seems the only significant limitation of the A15 is the relatively poor screen. Perhaps this is dumb question, but if I do all of my content creation at home or office, wouldn't connecting to a high quality external monitor mitigate the poor laptop screen, so that it is effectively a non issue?

I don’t play many games and am looking for a good portable option to replace my MacBook Air and get into video production. The G14 seems like the most portable and a decent enough compromise on power.
I Love the new G14 that Ryzen 9 4900H is a beast. But has 1 problem, having 8gb of soldered ram and a single dimm socket means anything over 16gb total will have you go from dual channel to single channel reducing memory speed by half. Why would ASUS sabotage its own product like that

I recently just got the G14 and I can say that this machine does run hot while playing games. I was playing gears five for an hours and cpu temps were sitting around 83c and reaching almost 90 at sometimes. I wish there was a way to keep this device cool while playing
Not saying it's good or bad, but for laptops those temperatures are not so rare, even with a 1050 and good external cooling system it won't move lower than 80c
I wished the 4800H was kept below 90C, simply not really comfortable with such high temps while gaming. Maybe thicker laptops like a newer version of the G73 could handle the cpu better.

Why does no reviewer talk about coil whine on these laptops? I've had three different Zephyrus S models and a Scar III. They all had noticeably loud coil whine. When googling you see a lot of people have this issue, as well as backlight bleed. Does Asus pay you guys not to talk about it?

@@Sarawlawlawlaw yeah, but one thing to note is that the best performance is when it’s plugged into a wall for gaming. Taking it with you without a plug should last a good while. There are different models of the zephyrus g15 so make sure you look at the description to make sure you’re getting the best deal. I bought asus ROG Strix g15 but the zephyrus lineup is probably better. I love mine to bits because I can run anything I want, most games today should run just fine. The 144hz screen was definitely worth it for my laptop. And if you are looking to livestream on a laptop, that’s I don’t think asus laptops can do unless it’s a more expensive model. Sorry if I’m all over the place with this but on a $1000 budget, asus laptops are a good choice. I heard the Asus TUF line is cheaper than zephyrus and rog strix but has good performance, only if you wanna save some cash.

An HDMI cable ,a wireless mouse and keyboard . Make sure u keep the laptop open to get better thermals or the laptop goes to sleep if u shut it ,due to thermals .

Depend on use cases. If you're just gaming you'll probably won't see too many differences in games and more likely won't care unless you're a creator or architect. But if not a few laptops within the USD999 to USD1399 should suffice.
Can you please test the G15 with 24GB RAM? I have the 16GB version and would like to upgrade to 24GB sometime in the future. The issue here is, of course, dual channel support and performance. Thank you.
It's a bad idea to mix different ram sizes. 8GB(onboard) plus an 8GB SODIMM is fine and will have great dual channel memmory performance, but if you have 8GB+16GB, then the moment it tries to store more than 8GB in the 16GB SODIMM, you'll take a noticeable performance hit. Unless you are doing a bunch of content creation, 16GB should be more than enough for basic use and gaming.

Is it 'horrible' no. 95% of users will never know the difference between a 3/5/15ms panel. Will you see potential ghosting when playing fast paced fps shooters at 240 fps, maybe, if youre sensitive to high quality displays. Most people that have been gaming on laptops will not be bothered by this, those on 1ms displays may see some ghosting at 15ms.
Normally, if I am at office or home, I connect my laptop to a bigger monitor for all tasks. Only when i am elsewhere, the screen size would matter, but then the weight and size of the G14 is a bigger advantage. It seems really portable and powerful enough for me. The others don't seem to have any other huge advantage over G14..
Really want to get the G14, but I heard bad things about the screen, waiting for the WQHD panel option before buying it, if the quality is subpar I will pass through, panel quality is really important for me, not gonna pat 1400+ for a mediocre screen.
I'm torn between one of 2 laptops. The A15 is a top notch laptop (screen aside) with excellent battery life, but I'm also eyeing a DTR laptop with 3700X and desktop RTX 2070, but trash battery life (as is normal with DTR's).
About the graphs in this video. Was it hard to put a color next to the name of what they represent? I mean that's what the legends are for. And why some product switch places? is it an error of the data they are assigned to? man these graphs are confusing for a simple man such as me.

I am trying to make a decision between the G15 (G512LV-HN033T) and A15 (FA506IV-AL038T). For the same price (in UK), the A15 comes with a better CPU (10750 vs 4900h), RAM, and hard drive. Strange enough, a lot of the comments I saw online believe G15 will always outperform the A15 due to it's cooling capability even it comes with worse spec. G14 is good multipurpose laptop for gaming, business trip or multipurpose office work where good performance is needed. It is next step in laptop performance.
Why would anyone remove the web camera? The covid19 situation has effectively made G14 and G15 useless. If you only want gaming, just buy a desktop. Laptops are for mobility. SO, web camera is a must. If one is moving around, one can't simply use external web camera

IU is 4600H and IV is 4800H in our configuration, so the IV should always get the better scores. Sorry for the mixup

Why does no reviewer talk about coil whine on these laptops? I've had three different Zephyrus S models and a Scar III. They all had noticeably loud coil whine. When googling you see a lot of people have this issue, as well as backlight bleed. Does Asus pay you guys not to talk about it?
I feel like it only bothers you when you're not using headphones and gamers can easily ignore that.

@@Sarawlawlawlaw yeah, but one thing to note is that the best performance is when it’s plugged into a wall for gaming. Taking it with you without a plug should last a good while. There are different models of the zephyrus g15 so make sure you look at the description to make sure you’re getting the best deal. I bought asus ROG Strix g15 but the zephyrus lineup is probably better. I love mine to bits because I can run anything I want, most games today should run just fine. The 144hz screen was definitely worth it for my laptop. And if you are looking to livestream on a laptop, that’s I don’t think asus laptops can do unless it’s a more expensive model. Sorry if I’m all over the place with this but on a $1000 budget, asus laptops are a good choice. I heard the Asus TUF line is cheaper than zephyrus and rog strix but has good performance, only if you wanna save some cash.

Which one is better to take? Depend on use cases. If you're just gaming you'll probably won't see too many differences in games and more likely won't care unless you're a creator or architect. But if not a few laptops within the USD999 to USD1399 should suffice.

Can you please test the G15 with 24GB RAM? I have the 16GB version and would like to upgrade to 24GB sometime in the future. The issue here is, of course, dual channel support and performance. Thank you.
It's a bad idea to mix different ram sizes. 8GB(onboard) plus an 8GB SODIMM is fine and will have great dual channel memmory performance, but if you have 8GB+16GB, then the moment it tries to store more than 8GB in the 16GB SODIMM, you'll take a noticeable performance hit. Unless you are doing a bunch of content creation, 16GB should be more than enough for basic use and gaming.

Yeah I'm wondering about this myself. I would test it myself if I could actually get the G14. Seems like only reviewers got it.
Is it 'horrible' no. 95% of users will never know the difference between a 3/5/15ms panel. Will you see potential ghosting when playing fast paced fps shooters at 240 fps, maybe, if youre sensitive to high quality displays. Most people that have been gaming on laptops will not be bothered by this, those on 1ms displays may see some ghosting at 15ms.
Well anyway i still think having a screen with 15+ ms is a topic. Ive heard now from other review they feel ghosting..

Normally, if I am at office or home, I connect my laptop to a bigger monitor for all tasks. Only when i am elsewhere, the screen size would matter, but then the weight and size of the G14 is a bigger advantage. It seems really portable and powerful enough for me. The others don't seem to have any other huge advantage over G14..

I'm torn between one of 2 laptops. The A15 is a top notch laptop (screen aside) with excellent battery life, but I'm also eyeing a DTR laptop with 3700X and desktop RTX 2070, but trash battery life (as is normal with DTR's).
About the graphs in this video. Was it hard to put a color next to the name of what they represent? I mean that's what the legends are for. And why some product switch places? is it an error of the data they are assigned to? man these graphs are confusing for a simple man such as me.

I am trying to make a decision between the G15 (G512LV-HN033T) and A15 (FA506IV-AL038T). For the same price (in UK), the A15 comes with a better CPU (10750 vs 4900h), RAM, and hard drive. Strange enough, a lot of the comments I saw online believe G15 will always outperform the A15 due to it's cooling capability even it comes with worse spec. After seen this video, I am completely lost .......

Why would anyone remove the web camera? The covid19 situation has effectively made G14 and G15 useless. If you only want gaming, just buy a desktop. Laptops are for mobility. SO, web camera is a must. If one is moving around, one can't simply use external web camera
