@@alexadarraga1764 Is Ocon basically at his level? Alonso struggled badly with the first 5 races, but since Baku, he's been head and shoulders clear of Ocon. He scored points in 13 out of the last 17 races, and the ones he didn't score in were Spa (not even a race), Turkey (started 5th before getting taken out at T1), Austin (Started at the back and was set for a points finish before DNF) and Saudi where he was genuinely just slow. Excluding the first 5 races, Ocon was realistically only "quicker" than Alonso in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi (not counting Hungary because that was all luck).

The problem with f2 2022 is that you know most of those guys have already been proven to be average by Piastri in 2021. Piastri took around 5 races to figure it out and then just slaughtered them.
Honestly I’d say looking back compared to Russell and Leclerc, and this is not to take away anything from either of the 3 of them did because both Charles and George also dominated F2 and I mean Charles still holds the win record even after Piastri’s chad season. But I can’t help but feel Piastri’s season was more impressive than both of theirs. George made a lot of costly mistakes early on and took a few rounds to warm up and get going before going on a win streak, Leclerc was a little inconsistent through the last quarter of the season from Silverstone to Monza. But piastri hit the ground running straight away and kind of never really looked challenged. Yes Zhou was leading the championship for 2 rounds and 6 races but race by race you could see him losing the grip at the top because he either wasn’t consistent enough or the he/ the Virtuosi just wasn’t fast enough at every track meanwhile Piastri was always up there either taking poles, getting wins and getting podiums, there never really seemed to be a slow start or a peak point in the season where after he started to let it slip a little
Don't put Tsunoda there man. Yuki almost got a podium in his 1st year in midfield car and made a great progress. Even inexperienced Piastri was more experienced while entering F2.
@@niiels1667 Put a great driver like Gasly in car built around him next to any rookie and everyone will come out pale. Besides, Tsunoda only had a problem with confidence, not a lack of skill. Confidence returned and speed returned. He is one of 5 drivers since 2017 who won the podium in the general classification of F2 in the first year of starts: Leclerc, Norris, Russel, Tsunoda and Piastri. They were the only ones.
He has a high hope in F1, but nobody knows before he goes on to the first F1 race. I bet it will be a big contrast compare to what he had achieved.. Tunoda is a great example.
His only, and unrealistic, chance of F1 in 2022 is only if Hamilton retires and Ocon gets the call to take over his seat so Piastri can step in. 2023, he has to be on the grid.
