Flops took a deep breath. "Don't worry Theodora, we'll get the blanket back." (Encourage Theodora with the yellow dice.) There are so many toys, thought Flops, maybe there's something here that can help us. (Use the blue dice to search the area for an item that might help heal Theodora or help move the stuffies.) Flops turned and using his rubber bands to pull himself up the hill, began to climb over the mountain of toys. Flops paused as he saw something, someone up ahead in the pile. what could it be? (Move with green dice towards one of the speech spaces if possible, the one closest to the train.) With that finished, Flops took a deep breath, braced himself, and wondered what more could happen. (Store the purple dice for later.)
To search you need to use a yellow die, so perhaps I'll switch that and I'll encourage with the blue die.
oops. =)
I am loving this sooo much. I also really enjoy the bloopers at the end.
Thanks for joining us on the latest adventure Elizabeth!
Me too! English wasn’t exactly working for Pep that day 😄
First roll green dice to move toward 2nd lost icon from left. Reroll the dice if it’s less than 4 using flops ability. If it’s still less than just use heart to leap to lost card
After passing the lost card test. If purple dice is available give it to pep.
Use one of the left over dice to do encourage action to discard the dice and give pep a stuffing.
Use another die(or heart to use special ability of flops ability) to goto point of interest symbol.
If any dice left reserve the die.
Pep should use Theodora’s ability to get the green dice from the discard pile to move around and get the other lost card and use purple dice to move even more
Just got this game for our daughter, and I am somehow having a harder time understanding how to play this game than I did when learning Descent 2nd Edition. Thanks for these videos!
Glad the video was helpful!
It looks like Flops could use some help! Theodora should probably use the blue die to encourage Flops and give her one of her stuffing so she won't get knocked out on her first move. Theodora can then roll the green die to move. If she rolls enough to get off of the pile, She should (so she doesn't take damage). If not, why not check out one of the lost tokens if you can! The yellow die could be used to conduct a search (and hopefully get something amazing!!). If you are close enough, you can use the final die to try to move into the train. Otherwise, you can put it into reserve on Theodora's card for her next turn.
Excited to see how things turn out for you on this page!!
I'm loving it! I wasn't so sure before but now I really want to play it😃
Glad you're enjoying the adventure so far - more to come!
I think that Flops should use leap, spending 1 heart, to be adjacent to the speech token. As well, try to use the yellow search die. Finally, if you want to risk it, use Theodora's word of motivation, again spending 1 heart. But, if you're concerned about using the heart, use your encourage action, to give Theodora 2 stuffings.
I wasn't expecting a gameplay of this, with the game being so narrative and everything. Well, time to make some popcorn...
Surprise :)
I'm enjoying all of the reading I get to do!
I suggest give pep one of the green dice and keep other just in case pep does not get one. Also make way to lost icons closest to your character
I'm curious of this game. I hope it is good. we will see, love your videos gents!!!
Hope these videos help!
Rodney, just to add some commentary around ages and my thoughts. So my kids, both 7, play this and don't find it scary even after all the miniatures have been painted. I think younger kids may, I think each parent will need to view this based on their own children. I think Jerry the designer has done a great job here, I was lucky to speak to him in Essen and this is a game designed around a story and choices, combat happens but it supports the story and only occurs in certain situations. Overall a game my kids don't want to put down. Thanks for the video.
Hey Jason, thanks for taking the time to report back on your experience. I'll bet those painted minis look great!
So nice to see you can play with just two characters. Can you play as the same character through the whole adventure? It's one of the things that killed the immersion in a Mice and Mystics campaign.
Great question. I'm not sure though, as I haven't played all the scenarios yet myself.
Wow, good voice work!
Glad you enjoyed our story telling :)
Great Video. Played 2 Stories now and this helped me a lot to check for faults. Cheers
So glad to hear this helped!
Those voices cracked me up. Brilliant 👏
Liking the Component Collector dice tray!
They've been awesome!
that's great to hear! Can't wait for mine to come in :D
This feels similar to Mice and Mystics, but set in a whole other world, I'm loving this so much :)
And the music mix from the M&M gameplay videos, nice touch :)
Suggestion for Flops: First I would give Theadora some stuffing, just in case she gets no white dice on her turn.
Then I would try to move closer to one of the speech bubbles, or search for items.
Catherine Stippell I know, this has Jerry Hawthornes magic all over :)
Hello, how is the game played? stuffed animals start first, if there are equal or more black dice than there are stuffed animals in the game, then the monsters play? and after the monsters attack the stuffed animals, should the players randomly pick the dice again until we kill all the monsters? Can you please help me
Hi Raden, our full tutorial is here: th-cam.com/video/vwIvQfuCoGI/w-d-xo.html watching that and going through this full play through should help with any questions you have.
Hello Denmark calling :) Some questions for you: When we setup a new chapter in story 1 do we setup sleepcards everytime (or do we put aside the used ones to get to the bottom of the stack)? and the same ? goes for all cards that a stuffie lost. Do we have to kill all minions before leaving the scene? Or could we just run! (we almost died all of us in the place that lies beyond :)) Hope to hear from you :) Greetings from Denmark from a huge fan
When moving to a new page/chapter, you don't need to reset the sleep cards or reshuffle any other cards/piles. As for killing all the minions, it's only necessary if the storybook says so for that page. Otherwise, you can move on as soon as you complete the objective for that page. As an example, in "The Place That Lies Beyond", you'll just need to reach one of the travel methods.
Thanks a lot - that makes sence! The rules are very complexe but we keep on struggling through the hole story :) Never seen a board game like that before.... just loving it.
Hi, sorry I know I’m late to this party. Just got this game for my daughter. We love your video and the voices you did while reading, as well as showing the storybook aspect of this game by using the miniatures while reading the story.
I just have a question though as we’re still learning this game now, it says on game set up:
5. “Create a face-up pile of boss minion cards, then shuffle the remaining minion cards and form a minion deck. When you set up for your first game, you will not have any boss minion cards.”
So why was there a leader/boss in your game, which gave your token a courage card after defeating it? Did I miss something on the page?
Hey Issandra, I'm afraid time will be the enemy here! I shot this long enough ago that I don't remember why ours might have gone different than what you expected in the setup (and I lent my copy of the game out, so I can't easily double check). Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Did you happen to watch our tutorial video? It might have provided more details: th-cam.com/video/vwIvQfuCoGI/w-d-xo.html
@@WatchItPlayed Yes, I watched it. :) Thank you anyway for replying.
There was one error with playing against the leader/boss where dark side stuffing (equal to the number of players) should be removed first when attacking them? Just placing my observations here in case others happen to land on this entertaining video of yours. I’m sure many others will as they discover the game like I did.
Thank you again for your wonderful videos. I’ll watch Part 2 and 3 next. :)
Pep's sweater = best sweater
It's pretty great, right?
Story time with Pep just WOULDN'T have been as effective without it. I would also suggest loafers and an absurdly curved bubble pipe.
A rules question: Is it possible to roll for movement and then, after the result is known, use an ability (like leap), resolving any effects, and then move using the die?
I'm not sure, but I would assume that once you've rolled the die, you are then in the middle of that action and would need to complete it first.
Is Stuffed Fables easier or harder than Mice and Mystics?
Hey Erin, I avoid trying to make judgement calls like that, as I find opinions can be quite varied on such things between players - but we do have videos for both, so hopefully that can help you.
This game has qr codes in the book for some rules scan the code and get a little video
Overall easier but I find the rulebook doesn't cover enough such as what happens when you move onto a new page and what to keep/ not keep as a stuffy when packing the game up for the night.
What Camera do you guys use when recording?! Would love to see your Set up too!
DeBeOtaku Hey there. I shoot with a LUMIX GH4, and I have a couple soft boxes for lighting.
I'm confused when it tells you to pick a card at the beginning. Does Thea have to start with the letter opener?
Hey there, you may want to start with our tutorial video first, which explains the rules of the game. You'll find that here: th-cam.com/video/vwIvQfuCoGI/w-d-xo.html
Great walk-through guys. You've got another subscriber! One question though, you had Theodora equipped with a letter opener, and I don't see anywhere in the setup where there is an opportunity in this first battle to equip any items, let alone have any to begin with. I know when they encounter a vendor space they can buy a weapon with a button, but how do they equip for this first crawly fight?
Hey there Samuel, so glad you enjoyed! I'm curious, did you start with this video, or did you watch the tutorial video first? You'll find it here and it covers rules like starting equipment: th-cam.com/video/vwIvQfuCoGI/w-d-xo.html
@@WatchItPlayed Ah man, Gear Up. Don't know how I missed that, thanks. Your videos are top notch. I'll be watching a lot of them now that we are all "working from home" these days. :D
@@samueldecker2406 Stay safe out there!
If Pep needs extra stuffing; he can use his fluffy hair.
This looks absolutely charming. Not sure if it would hold the interest of an adult (not that it should). I'm assuming it's oriented towards families and children.
Glad you enjoyed :)
Voices. WE NEED MORE VOICES.
You got it!
Try to use stealth to get to one of the conversation bubbles
Can you lock black dice on that courageous card to thin the chances of them being drawn?
Nope - the Courageous condition lets you lock attribute dice only (the one's that aren't white or black).
I know it depends on the children involved, but (in general) do you think this would hold the interest of two boys aged 10 and 12? I'm sold, and would love to play this with them.
Hey Mark, that really is impossible to say as it will come down to the unique interests and attention spans of the kids. You’d be the best judge - if you pick it up, I hope they enjoy!
Another sssperfect video
Glad you enjoyed!
Definitely a sperfect video! Love you guys :)
:D
love the bloopers! lmao
Glad you enjoyed :)
How did Pep set up page 2 while Rodney was reading? I smell a smell, a smelly smell!
I think they skipped the basics though. A read through of what is what before a play session would have been good.
Hey Robert, we always explain the full rules before a play through in our tutorial video. You'll find it here: th-cam.com/video/vwIvQfuCoGI/w-d-xo.html
Reading sweater! :D
It kinda seems like an introduction to ttrpgs
I hope that dice box is made from actual alligator
I don't think it is, but we can pretend :)
I'm scared of alligators, so that explains why I miss hitting it so often.
Are my color settings off or is Peps color blindness acting up again? Cause those "red and purple" dice sure look orange and pink to me.
if you saw the tutorial, they say there that even though the dice ARE orange and pink in color, they are referred to in the game rules as red and purple, as those shades were picked to help color-blindness. watch it played names the colors as the game does.
Yep, that's the reason!
They are definitely easy for me to pick out!
are these paid promotions? its very strange that almost all plaid hat games have an instruction video and gameplay
Our game play series are never paid. I do charge a fee to the publishers for the tutorials videos (I feel I'm offering a service that they benefit from), but we don't offer opinions of any sort in those (or in the game plays for that matter).
I pick the schedule of games I want to feature, and Plaid Hat often has games I want to feature. I feel a particularly special connection to them, as they were the first publisher to work with us. For as long as I have this channel, you can likely expect me to feature as many games of their as I find myself interested in.
Watch It Played honestly, I wish every publisher paid you for the how to play series- it's my gaming group's preferred method to learn how to play, and actually affects whether or not we buy a game. Thank you for doing this.
S'perfect. XD
S'thank you!
