By this point, KAC should have invested in expanding its manufacturing facility.
For real, their QC is already starting to falter so they should just double down and make more
This is all their brand relies on, scarcity.
They did expand their manufacturing capacity dramatically. You need a golf cart just to travel within their warehouses.
People don't understand that KAC is literally built on rapidly responding to unique runs of military contracts for specialized parts and weapons requested by mostly SOF units.
They aren't set up to make parts for clone builders and insta-consumers.
@@jacketfullofmetalpretty much the sig, Jeep (manuals),etc. motto.
You put enough out there that people really want one, but no one can find them unless its price is seriously inflated.
lmao they don't give a fuck about civilians. they make hundreds of millions on military contracts. their "brand" doesn't rely on scarcity. they "rely" on the continuity of said military contracts@@jacketfullofmetal

@@NoelWesleywell at least you got it right with the Accuracy International rifles. But yeah that first SA-80 was pretty rough. The Knight’s AR is absolutely amazing though.
@@NoelWesley The sad thing is that the British are going to still use the SA80 for most of its soldiers, and the KS-1 for specialised units.

Lmao LWRC has had true ambi and these guys are finally getting to it, and you’re paying absurb money for a KAC
Personally think that in today's market EVERY ar should have that feature
I personally don't even consider a lower if it isn't ambi anymore.
Radian hit the nail on the head with their controls. I've traded off most other ambi lowers I've had for radians at this point.
Still have some LMT for the vibes but Radian did it best. There's 0 reason for everyone NOT to be doing ambi now.
It’s something that isn’t needed but you guys cry a river if it doesn’t have it.
@HWG-wm8ld ya you right... it's not needed, we've made due without it for how long? The thing is, everyone talks about how to improve the AR, and that's literally the only thing it needs. but you go ahead and keep fixing your malfunctions like a tard.
KAC is mainly for the contract market. The commercial market is secondary to them. They really aren't concerned with the commercial market.

Barrett and KAC are really America's best in modern small arms. Admittedly they are overhyped at times, but there is substance to their quality. I sort of didn't believe it myself until I actually looked at and bought an SR-15. The details down to the thickness of the chrome lining and the double pinned gas block are just usually skipped over but it really shows their dedication to hard use. Yes the e3 , or whatever is now, bolt is rock solid but it really is them putting actual function overall as the priority, that is noticeable.
Barrett is gone to Australia.
When Apollo crew petered out and then when Shuttle crew petered out, KAC's quality improved logarithmically due to having aerospace ppl come to their plant.
Check out the knights meltdown test on here. Barrel lasted 584 rounds of constant full auto. Geissele lasted 901 rounds.
Uh no. There are many other high echelon manufacturers. Knights is overpriced and underproduced.
For me ‘American’ means ‘for the people’. These rifles are not made for the people, they are made for the government. PSA makes weapons for the people- and they appear to be quite durable too based on recent stress testing.

I'm thorouhly convinced that KAC is the American version of HK. At least HK is actually making cool stuff though.
Hk entered the UK SOF contract right next to KAC, and KAC won. I wonder why that is, given Hk's long-term relationships with UK SOF and the MoD.
@LRRPFco52 not to mention the fact that HK is British owned now, which definitely has better optics to it
Being an HK fan (and owner of many) since the Metal Gear Solid days, you're exactly right. I'm not even hating, I just mean it when I say I have no idea how KAC has stayed in business.
HK is no longer owned by British Aerospace, In 2002 it was sold to a group of private investors from Germany @@iornlint
And actually selling it to American civilians......
Good coverage! I like it .. sub earned
Thank you! I appreciate it.
I'm a British Army veteran. I used the 7.62 SLR at the start of my career as well as the 7.62 LMG (Bren gun) and Sterling submachine gun. I progressed onto the SA80 A1 as well as using HKs and Sig Sauer in Northern Ireland. The KAC KS-1 is a breath of fresh air if the British Army is introducing this rifle. I always said that the MoD missed a trick when it decided to introduce a new service rifle back in the 1980s and instead of going for a proven weapon system (even the AK) they decided to develop something brand new and thus introduced the SA80 with all its problems. I'd love to fire some rounds down the range with this new weapon.
There’s a reason why the SBS started using the AR-15 even before America did and have been using AR’s since then.
Yes, I'll be very happy to see this in the hand's of British Squaddies. Least we can do is give them a quality weapon. And this is a quality weapon. Only the US Socom URG-I AR from Geissele comes close IMHO.
God I want this
I see they haven't improved their cerakoting
Prettied up knowing it’s a tool that will be used and abused. No safe queens
Literally looks like shit, 4+k for a rifle who cannot coat even the trigger guard inside 😂
Looks like they're just taping the holes shut on a fully-assembled gun, hitting it with Brakleen, and spraying it on like a bunch of psychopaths. Not sure on what planet this is considered OK for a $4k gun. It's not even applied correctly and will rub off. It's no better than spray paint. Even spray paint would be better than this crap.
Guys you gotta realize Kac makes these guns for people who use them not consumers who wanna look cool on instagram and put a thousand rounds a year through their gun. Cerakote is their last concern because that shit is getting scratched to hell by those who Kac actually produces for or it’s getting painted over.
The gun is built around hiding from thermal imaging. That cerakote is probably mixed in with plenty of secret sauce.
The commercial version will be available after the next new model will be out. And there will be only two maybe three.
I just want a spare bolt that's not way overpriced on the 2nd hand market because it's never in stock 😂

About 2600
n u prolly never will
The cost isn't an issue it's availability. They don't really make weapons for civilians. It's just overflow form contracts. Some guys have been waiting for repair kits and have had rifles on order for over 2 years. The limited availability hyper inflates the cost on the used market. Not unlike beanie babies back in the day...
Bought my first KAC a year ago. It wouldn’t eject spent cases. Sent it back and it worked fine afterwards. Thought about a muzzle device change but didn’t want to wait 80 years for a tool that cost 700.00.
Sold it last week. Not impressed.
Lolwut
You can replace the muzzle device with random objects in your house. I took mine off with a butter knife and a pot of water.
Lol are you stupid? KAC muzzle devices require zero special tools and install no different than any other manufacturer's muzzle devices on the market.
@@orion8981 he didn’t deserve it! “Spent cases” failure to eject it could have just needed to be broken in or if you’re not using milspec ammo. That gun was built for use with true mil spec ammunition to cycle properly especially when brand new. Mine did this the first 10-15 rounds after that it ran just fine. I ran 500 rounds that day. My 11.5 cqb upper on a LMT lower had no issues out the box.
@@maj.kamper9314 $5 says he tried to run steel case, got salty with customer service, and they bored out the gas port to oblivion.
I'm still stuck on somebody having $3k for a rifle and absolutely no idea how to remove a muzzle device.
@@orion8981 I was thinking the same thing. KAC is a combat rifle and it isn't made to run on the cheapest steel cased Russian BS Ammo you can buy. The main reason I buy quality guns is because the low end makers do just that. They bore out the gas port to handle everything so that they don't have to listen to some cheap bastard whine like a prison Be-Haatch. Meanwhile if you try to shoot decent ammo through one of their guns, your spent casing goes down range with the bullet. That's great if your surrounded and resorting to spray and pray. Anyway, imagine spending 2.6K on a rifle and buying steel cased ammo. WTH?
Looks like playing catch up in the technology department with their upgrades. Most of what he mentioned has already been developed by others. As for the ambidextrous controls, looks like everyone is copying the OG “LWRC”, since it’s the most proven design. What’s the old saying, “Imitation is the best form of flattery “. The exceptions being ADM/Griffin and Radians designs.
But is everyone else getting Sof contracts lol

So, they're still making products out of unobtainium.
they're not for you. they're making all their money off of the military.
KAC, silencer co and every suppressor company should copy the surefire warden idea. A lot of states don’t allow suppressor and would buy the shit out of a “blast shield”. Put the same technology that your suppressors use besides the baffles. A non stop market.
