I heard it being played by an Irish fiddler on NPR last June and was so so surprised that this little song had made it around the world. So the poem is by Kentucky poet Wendell Berry, melody by me, Wendy Tuck, and then Joseph Emet at Plum Village address other verses and the bridge. I’m not asking for any royalties, but the accuracy of a song’s origin is important in our folk traditions, especially when it is known!
