It’s a constant practice because the mind will never stop trying to limit the limitless experience of awareness. Observing this is somehow a complete fascination. It feels real. It’s hypnotizing. The endless layers that the mind is capable of. This was such a clear and lucid presentation. Even still, I wonder if such an explanation is ever convincing to one who does not already realize this, the defenses against it tend to be quite tenacious.
Whenever I look in the mirror I don't think "that's me!" I see beyond that and see more of a shell that is housing something far deeper. I know that the face and body belongs to me but I also know that it's not who I really am spiritually.
When I began self-inquiry, “who am I?” became “what am I?” when it was realized that the sense of self wasn’t a person. Still without an answer, the question became “where am I?” Am I behind my eyes looking out at the universe and controlling this body? The next question was “am I?” Is this sense of awareness or consciousness that’s seemingly separate from the contents of awareness really me, or is it another thought? Is it even possible for awareness to be completely independent of the contents of awareness? If not, then can I even be awareness? Isn’t the sense of self as pure awareness just another arising in awareness? It appears that there are only arisings in awareness and no self to be found anywhere.

Buddhism is incredible for a 2500 year-old idea. That’s where all these ideas come from. Also Plato, who noted that we don’t watch reality, we watch the shadows of reality on the wall. Buddhism discusses ‘the five kleshas’ - types of perception which seduce us into believing in a separate, eternal ego.
@ In my view, the talk about rebirth in the Buddhist texts are the result of ancient simple language which was unable to describe psychological matters the way we can today. it’s true that Buddhism teaches reincarnation but there are many ways of interpreting this: many modern Buddhists think that our neuroses are reborn, not our ego. Personally I believe only in the rebirth of ideas - our thoughts and ideas live on beyond us, so we must take care to ensure that they are worthwhile. This aligns with the idea of our neuroses (or our positive thoughts) don’t die with us. Plus, reincarnation is not a central teaching of the Buddha himself: the concept of karma and rebirth came from the pre-Buddhist Upanishads. I am pretty sure the historical Buddha would have scoffed at the detailed descriptions found in the Book of the Dead (14th century) - he would have realised, as you did, that wishing for a greater rebirth is just another grasping desire created by our egos. I can still be a Buddhist without subscribing to ideas of rebirth - the key texts are the four noble truths, the eightfold path and the five precepts (no killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying or intoxication). The best idea part of Buddhism is that there is no omnipotent god, and that it’s up to you which of the teachings you accept.
@@MrMusicbyMartin i’m with you on most of that. Another effective and amazing video, but this idea that the mind talks to itself-doesn't it imply that even the concept of pure awareness could just be another construct of the mind? And if the ego is just a collection of roles, isn’t it still necessary to function in society? How do you balance this realization with practical life?
That's where meditation with a Master comes in. The realizations are on you, but there are guides when you're ready. Not when you think you're ready, when you know.
Yes, the “concept” of pure awareness can be constructed by the ego. Often this happens in the form of a “watcher” that is created. For some people this is a stage along the way and as you point awareness at this “construct” of infinite awareness you eventually see that too and it disappears, sometimes slowly, sometimes immediately. Both ways are fine. As to the question of balancing this inquiry with practical life, you find that the ego is a necessary tool. The inquiry and practice is more about finding out where and when to use the tool, and where it’s not necessary. Eventually this realization just becomes effortless.
This reminds me of a technique I've adopted. Possibly as a coping mechanism. IDK. When I view things from a subjective point they are personal, but by shifting to objective view and seeing him (me) simply as a human being having human being issues, the weight is lifted. And still that begs the question, If I am me, how can I view myself objectively at all? Who is doing this viewing?
Someone also posited to me something I’ve considered myself: What of the brain is a collection of chemicals and part of that chemistry is the sense of something beyond thought? Then, the witness itself would be part of that chemical “soup”. That, upon death, it all dissipates. I know the ‘answer’ is asking the question ‘dissipates into what’? And… I think that would be something worth exploring further. My sense is that there has to be an experiential shift away from any kind of ‘answer’.
I recently had an experience of being pure awareness separate from all of the thoughts, feelings and conceptions of who I am. I saw them as separate entities outside of my consciousness. Many of them were distorted and the experience was overwhelming and terrifying. I posted a video about it all. This video summarizes it pretty well.
@ 😂 I get where you’re trying to go with this response but there is no other word that I can think of to describe the formless, shapeless, complete void of nothing. The act of describing it adds character or definition to an undefinable thing.

we are not even awareness and its not at all constant because the I is barely aware of what is, but gets some glimpses only arising in 'awareness' most of the chaos of living goes unnoticed and out of awareness.
Yes, as the video said, the sense of “me” is not the entire mind, but rather a tiny part of the whole mind that only from a limited vantage point seems like the entire mind.
The moment you witness the thoughts running through your mind, you become aware that you are just a witness. But becoming aware that you are the witness.... is a thought in itself, the very thought that you understand that you are a witness. And, hold on a second! And the Awareness that you are also the one observing the other you who a second ago realized that he is the witness. And so on...🙊
Two doubts: 1/ Is the witness continuous? There does not seem to be any witness in deep anesthesia, and may or not be present in deep sleep. If what remains in deep anesthesia is Absolute Reality, then it might as well be death. 2/ How can one "turn the attention to Awareness" or for that matter anything else?" What is this attention that is turned and who or what turns it?
who are the entities that have no inner monologue and when did they arrive among us? i don't believe they've always been here or they would have been mentioned in the records on meditation and literature. the first i heard of them tbey were a rarity and within a year they were alledged to be up to half of people.
good explaining but to be clear : the witness , the observer is at the same time the observed , if not there would be separation : an observer created by the mind .
This video is like a priest convincing you the mind is something sinful or lesser. It's good to have a mind making sense of things and having pleasure in it. We are also made of atoms and molecules, but there is no sense in it to be constant aware of it. The mind is the emerging thing that is the outcome of all the complexities beneath it, working together to be able to fuse all their coexistence in one single fusion of focus. Nothing "bad". We are awareness but also all the tings we are aware of. Having identity in it is good, like we do not belittle teenagers in looking for identity. It's part of progress and growth, and the eternal force is change, not awareness.
When I sleep deeply, there is no witness, no awareness. And yet, I clearly still exist, wrapped in my sheets. Where is the witnessing presence, where from does it come, in the morning, when I wake up?
The continuity of experience itself is proof that during deep sleep, awareness is present, but there is nothing to be aware of; no thoughts, no perceptions, no dreams. It is much like a screen with no movie projected. Just because the movie is not there, one cannot infer the screen is absent. The moment a new movie is projected, one sees it is proof enough that the screen is always present. Hope this analogy helps.
What if death isn’t the annihilation of consciousness, but consciousness being separated from external stimulus. Meaning the witness is still alive, but has nothing to reference that aliveness to? So it’s just darkness :0

Alan Watts said to listen to your thoughts as birdsong. Who is listening? But where Ive found it impossible is when one of my rescue animals is having an uncomfortable experience due to a problem with their body. I say it that way so YT wont remove the post. What makes my thoughts ME at that point is love, and concern for their experience. Its the most difficult part for me in caring for my rescues. I find I cant put aside concern for them and thinking about them, even though I know they are not aware of my thoughts, and they serve neither them, nor me.
When the choice to change the focus of attention is made how is that done? Who controls the focus of attention? I must find out. Thank you for posting this.
I feel trapped in my body, which seems older and less vibrant than what I was happy and proud of decades ago. How can I return to the sense of consciousness I experienced just a few years ago? My body feels like a mask that doesn’t reflect who I truly am. This whole simulation then is riddled traps and self thoughts of enslavement
we are not Awareness, Awareness is the goggles the higher self puts on..... in order to see this reality, or that's how it was explained to me. Saying that... Resting as Awareness is a wonderful achievement and hard enought, and I'm unsure how to rest as the Higher Self.
I will *never* speak for others, but I know precisely who I am, what I've accomplished, what I was meant to do, and what various possible forces work against (or for) any given soul. The unfortunate part of knowing hearkens back the age-old phrase: "Ignorance is bliss". What I didn't--or couldn't(?)--understand as a child is now no longer an option. However, more importantly, as the decades have passed, I recognize that the majority of people I've encountered either ignore true reality, or else... they're incapable of comprehending it. :/ Super unfortunate, but hey... as I stated... I can't speak for others, I can only observe the actions they take, ask them questions, and discover what they do or do not know.
This video Is a good example Of how humans Can weave together sentences Using words and grammar , But the sentences have no meaning.1 reason is because the words have no definition , , in fact, they quite often change definition Throughout the video. For example, sometimes the word mind is used to mean consciousness, Sometimes it means the you , and sometimes it means something unknown. It's a really good example of gibberish It seems to be It seems to be something something In fact does not In fact does not. I am my mind Then when I'm asleep and not dreaming I don't exist.

@ 😂 I get where you’re trying to go with this response but there is no other word that I can think of to describe the formless, shapeless, complete void of nothing. The act of describing it adds character or definition to an undefinable thing.
@@LightBringersPortal Your awareness does not exist, like a tree does not have an awareness either, it maybe thinks on some level it is aware though. Awareness of awareness is fake. If real awareness exists we can not know it for sure. Every thought, including awareness, is part of universal illusion.

You are and you are not.
Complimenti, grazie. 👍🏻

Beautiful art, Beautiful wisdom ❤
Thank you! ✨🙏🏼🍀
I'm too fabulous to have an ego.
HaHA 😆
graphics as simply beautiful as the message. x
Thank you. 🙏🏼✨🍀✨

Good compilation of all the teachings of sages in India without acknowledging them. Viz. Shri Shankaracharya's “Advaita Vedanta” Shri Ramana Maharshi's “Who Am I”, and “Vedas” and “Upanishad “ from the traditional Indian text. Everything available in Amazon and there are a lot of TH-cam videos. Thanks
Exactly my thoughts.. Feels like plagiarism!
This is straight from Yogananda and Marashi Ram. but thats ok I enjoyed it
Probably the best articulation I’ve ever heard on this subject. Thanks

Did David Attenborough give the nod to AI ripping off his voice and his gravity to this?
we are not even awareness and its not at all constant because the I is barely aware of what is, but gets some glimpses only arising in 'awareness' most of the chaos of living goes unnoticed and out of awareness.
Who knows that its get unnoticed???
The awlf has, does and always will exist. What it is , is a mystery which cannot be solved
❤ thank you, this is so very helpful ❤
but to observe ones thoughts...requires my mind...
Yes, as the video said, the sense of “me” is not the entire mind, but rather a tiny part of the whole mind that only from a limited vantage point seems like the entire mind.
Very good ❤
I am unlimited awareness. ALL IS GOD.
Rather God is all.
Best AI generated voice out there. Good inflection and phrasing. Well done. Nothing new about the message, but a good one.

How about the content??? It's amazing!!!!❤❤❤🎉@@DarkKnight-fx1ei
And so on...🙊
Great wisdom here. I love the beautiful images. It's clear that a great deal of love has gone into the making of this video.
Of course, I talk to myself.I'd look pretty silly talking to people that don't exist.
😊
Two doubts: 1/ Is the witness continuous? There does not seem to be any witness in deep anesthesia, and may or not be present in deep sleep. If what remains in deep anesthesia is Absolute Reality, then it might as well be death. 2/ How can one "turn the attention to Awareness" or for that matter anything else?" What is this attention that is turned and who or what turns it?
Wow. This is so clarifying. And wonderful graphics, too. Thank you.
we are all music...as a whole....individually vibrating & creating sounds...that govern our lives....in my humble opinion. 🌈
I have never heard someone else say that we are all music, but that is correct, the essence of everything is music.
Sound and fury, signifying nothing
Don’t forget….You’ve got Devil’s music, and then you’ve got Angels music… just a thought.
who are the entities that have no inner monologue and when did they arrive among us? i don't believe they've always been here or they would have been mentioned in the records on meditation and literature. the first i heard of them tbey were a rarity and within a year they were alledged to be up to half of people.
Thank you. ❤️
Thank you so much this is so helpful ❤❤❤ thank you so much.
I don't need to care anymore about anything. Even that "I".
Resting in awareness, choiceless awareness, do-nothing, just sitting (Shikatanza), the great perfection (Dzogchen), etc...
Thank you for this message !
This is really Good !!! Thankyou.
good explaining but to be clear : the witness , the observer is at the same time the observed , if not there would be separation : an observer created by the mind .
Such a great video
"That without which there could be no objects, yet which itself remains beyond objectification, is the eternal self." I Am That
When I sleep deeply, there is no witness, no awareness.
@@descendingintodreams1768 Isn't the answer to this question what really brought us all here? Somehow the algorithm got it right. All our searches, likes and dislikes led us to this very same topic, and same question. Only something as elusive as intuition can give you a glimpse of the answer. What does your intuition say about death and consciousness?
@@KeyserSoseRulz it would be lovely if upon death our consciousness gets projected into another vessel, like past/next lives. But I don’t really know. I’d have to get in touch with my intuition better
That was amazing thank you for the wisdom blessings to you ❤❤❤

The body is tired of the minds thinking, that’s the who. Histamine overdose, rash, shock and death if it doesn’t slow its pace. OCD thoughts.
When the choice to change the focus of attention is made how is that done? Who controls the focus of attention? I must find out. Thank you for posting this.
You really cannot explain it any clearer, this is genius. x
Thanks for the video.
Excellent!
