It was bound to happen eventually...I do it too, as much, and as often as I try not refer to 'any circular saw' as a 'SKIL-SAW'. I'll totally let it slide, cause work 2nd shift, and haven't even had coffee this morning yet. I actually came looking for some of your previous cordless ratchet videos, but I'm also on the market for a Cordless 6.5" Circular Saw, a Cordless Rear Handle Circular Saw, and a Corded Job Site Table Saw. At this point, at least 2 of them will be SKIL brand. Tough decision on the 6.5" 'Trim-Saw' though. I do plan on adding at least 2 more battery platforms this year, and DeWalt and SKIL are winning so far.
Nice saw but for 250 I got the makita 36v (18v x 2) rear handle saw with 2 4ah batteries dual rapid cooled charger and a free tool (makita 18v trim router) that was a great deal, last year at HD and I love this saw, it’s very smooth and powerful. I agree for the money skil makes some really good stuff, but in this case and price I will stick with my makita. Nice, thorough review as always Tim 👍
Dude I'm so regretful of not getting that. I'm on Milwaukee which I love, but I wish I hadn't bought their rear handle and I wish I had bought that Makita deal for $250.00! Especially if they were throwing in that free impact! I am very envious of you in other words. lol
@@devonboyer626 that deal is still available right now. I got mine 2 months ago with a free sawzall but I already had one so I returned it and ended up getting the rear handle 36V for around $165 incl tax. Best deal ever
@@luisinhoens90 yeah I know I actually go and check it everyday. Lol. Unfortunately it's just no5 wise for me to spend 250 on something I already have, even if it is this good of a deal. It's a tough one, but I really just shouldn't. However there are two things I want as a milwaukee guy. I want a made in Japan makita impact driver, and I want the new max xr compact drill (non hammer) from Dewalt.
It is a good looking kit - just on the larger and heavier side compared to your HTP 36V. Unfortunately Skil is not an easy find here in Canada compared to Metabo HPT and the latter is often on sale at different times throughout the year... presently kitted for about $88 less than the Skil. I'd happily take both if my budget permitted it! 😉
Looks to be a very decent rear handle. It's biggest problem, though, is the Makita XSR01 rear handle saw 36V which goes on sale on a regular basis. As of now it costs the same $249 and can be bundled with a free tool at HD
Great video! I know this is random, but it actually sounds like you fixed the sound on the intro music. It sounds a lot better mixed or whatever. Before it sounded too loud and not mixed right, but this sounds a lot better.
Own this and it works great. Nice dust extraction. Bought it when it came out for the $199 price- great deal.
Great to hear! Thanks for letting us know and thanks for watching.
@@Shoptoolreviews is this saw better than the Flex rear handle because it runs 2 batteries?
This is a really impressive 'Kit' . And it has an exhaust pipe!
Just bought this saw. Best saw I have ever used!
Battery does last like it says it does then? I just placed my order today
@@jorgepulidovaladez9418 ,yes, it has fantastic power and battery life!
I own this saw and it is bad ass

Wow Tim!!!
Very impressive
Thank you sir.

You got a great deal. That Makita 2x18v is a great saw. Thanks for watching.
Yes, it looks very close to the Makita but has the light and the dust extract which the rear handle Makita lacks. I own both Makita 36V

I have the HPT 36v rear-handle saw and love using it, but that is a good-looking kit, especially for the price. Nice review as usual.

TJ!!!! LET'S GO 🏁
Seems like a decent saw the older corded ones were tuff .
It's a very good saw, especially for the price. Thanks for watching.
Are those the Samsung 25 R’s 18650’s just like in the Flex 5ah?
So is it pro grade? Am I still getting my Dewalt or Milwaukee for serious cutting?
Actually nice saw !
How well did you see with the line of sight? 90°, 45°🤔
I had trouble with my saw can’t even cut a 2by 4 😂😂 changed the blades got a Diablo and Dewalt one it’s weird

Assuming you already have Makita batteries and charger.
Awesome! Now compare it against the Mag 77.
I just bought 1 was 530 after taxes, sucks buying anything in Canada lol, I'm hoping it works on par with my dewalt rear handle

You can apply nail polish on that scale and lightly wipe the excess off with some acetone
They need a framing nailer now
Saw this kit for $150 and there was no way I was not going to buy it at that price.
That's a heck of a deal. Thanks for watching.
Lowe’s has it for 150
$129 now.
3 lbs less than the Skil worm drive and also a much tidier looking saw imo.
Come on now, tacticool looks override readability!! Lol
Where is the carry bag ?
Cheap cheap
Squeak !
