    So from this review, my takeaway is that for any piece of lumber wide enough to fit the track on and to long of a cut to make with the miter saw is easiest done with a maki track saw, unless it's thicker than 4 inches, then you need a cabinetry saw or a bandsaw. If there's that much of a performance difference from 4ah to 8ah, and from 235 to 270mm, then the 270mm saw is using close to the maximum potential of the 8ah battery, which is 2160 watts, or 2 and 15/16th's hp. In other words, this saw, with 375$ in accessories (makita tracks, knock off parallel guides, aws chip) can do 99% of the work of a 4k SawStop (3hp, 52 inch rip fence) and barely squeak in over 1k after tax, with comparable dust extraction and the Makita having anti-kick back tech and the sawstop having hand detection. Sawstop is still the safest, but not by much. I'm disappointed more people don't buy these, I wish Makita made a cabinetry blade for these saws but they won't until there's demand, presumably.

    How does the HS009G compare to the 36v version (dhs900)?
    I know from your testing generally the XGT stuff performs slightly better than the 36v equivalents, but it is not clear if that is just due to the XGT tools being slightly newer designs (e.g. updated motors), or if it is due to the XGT platform being more powerful than the 36v.
    However, interestingly Makita Japan and UK list both higher power (1800w vs 1600w) and higher rpm (4500rpm vs 4000rpm) for the 36v dhs900 compared to the XGT HS009G.
    Have you done any comparisons on these two saws? Any thoughts?

      This track saw will work with half of all track saw manufacturers tracks. Makita, Festool, PowerTec, Wen, Milwaukee, and probably at least 1 more I'm forgetting compatible. If I were getting an XGT track saw I'd get the 10 inch one, it works with the same tracks as well, all makita track saws use this same standard track. Dewalt, Kraig and a couple others use proprietary tracks. These are also compatible with parallel guide rails, which makes this more of a cabinetry tool if you're into that. The 10 inch saw also cuts through 4x4 lumber completely, while the 9 inch doesn't quite make it through as you know if you have it. The 10 inch saw also has more power, which is also nice. It's almost a table saw.

    Great videos and really insightful. Currently I'm 18V Makita and have a track. Currently doing some cabinetry etc but like the circular saw option you speak of as they're cheaper and more flexibility. Looking at the 185, am I missing out on anything significant versus the newer 235, or also the more expensive plunge saw? (although 36v plunge also an option). Do Makita plunge saws have less blade play or anything for more precise cuts? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    • @jjoohhhnn
      @jjoohhhnn 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Makita makes a 36v (lxt) 235mm track saw, but according to another commenter the LXT version has a more powerful motor than the XGT 235mm equivalent, but I don't think you'd notice unless you have 4ah batteries on the LXT saw. It's almost a table saw, it can do some things a table saw can't too. (60 degree bevel, ability to cut longer pieces, safer than any table saw except a sawstop). With a track and parallel guide rails for it, this saw is almost a table saw. It can't make cuts on pieces narrower than the track, which is the only time a table saw would make a cut more easily than a the LXT track saw, or if you need that last quarter inch of depth a table saw offers. But you'll also need a plunge cut saw regardless to make plunge cuts that don't have tearout.

      Ive only seen the 36v rear handle in person, theres no dust port! No where to extract. But the 40v looks the same over here, no dust port to plug an extractor in.

    When we are gonna see review of the impact wrenches? You have them almost a year now and keep teasing them 🙂. Also, is that true that if you remove battery from a tool that is paired with a hoover via aws, it looses connection and you have to pair it again after replacing the battery? Like when battery goes flat and you change it with a charged one, the aws won't work and need pairing again? Seems silly hence asking.

    price of the gsh03 $589 and gsh04 $600 here in the states makes the pick easy for $11 more but $600 for circular saw is a bit much. Also note Makita makes a universal adapter to use any vacuum with the AWS

    • @nominalvelocity
      @nominalvelocity 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately it doesn't work as a relay, so you can't use just any old vacuum. Has to be one with an external trigger lead for a corded tool. It's also stupidly expensive for what it is. The better solution for now is to use a remote control relay system if you intend to use it with a standard shop vac.
