I definitely want to do this to my truck! Please pray for me. I have court tomorrow on my birthday, to get my kids back from a bad situation with the ex. I need God's will to be done! Thanks!!!!
Looks nice my brother. Glorify him with what skills he provides us.. praying for you my man. Nice vid. Gonna start using this color by them. Got a black gloss rim paint at Walmart, said for rims, but it's garbage compared to this. Thanks my brother in Christ!!!
Thanks appreciate you! Yeah I don't like the rustoleum automotive paint it was junk when I used it. This stuff works way better and it holds up to heat great I even use it on engines!
Never get tired of the paint videos! Lol! I'm very close to painting a close friend's car purple. She had wanted her old car painted but it never happened. I'd like to use just the cans but I'm going to decant some of the gloss grape, add some hardener and use my harbor freight electric sprayer. I look forward to seeing how this hood holds up for just the can. It looks nice and glossy. Amazing work brother. Be blessed
Thank you and right now God is pouring His spirit out upon everyone and revival is happening everywhere things are moving quickly He will be back sooner than we can imagine just trying to get everyone prepared while i can!
I've been following you for a while and that's the first time I've seen that many bugs. I've got OCD so I'd have my sandpaper out and redoing it 😂😂😂 God bless you and your family brother 🙏
Yup I have done headlight restoring before it works great and I don't do the buff method mine is more permanent. I do plan for replace them with black housing headlights as well.
I did a car with Rust-Oleum 2X a few years ago, and it's held up well. A few suggestions for everyone: 1. Spray water on the garage floor before you paint to keep the dust down. 2. Use a bug zapper and/or a natural bug spray around the garage before painting. I like Zevo myself. 3. If the can allows, use a handle sprayer attachment. Much more control of the spray itself and of your hand. 4. When you paint a bumper, use aircraft stripper (that's what it's called) to get it down to the original plastic, then use plastic adhesion promoter spray before painting. Bumpers come out amazing and the paint just won't chip off like what will normally happen with time/wear. Hope this helps and God bless you all! Jesus loves you and wants a relationship with you! Repent and trust in Him!
Amen and as for the Handle attachment I don't recommend them they tend to fall off and land in the paint had it happen before even with the newer design but if your not use to using spray can they can help but they can still cause fatigue. I'm use to spray can painting so I forgot to mention that. I definitely should have wet the floor and didn't run the bug zapper but even when running that zapper it don't help much since the bugs here in Texas are nuts 😂 thanks for the other tips I failed to mention! God bless you!
I spray in a 6 in circular motion, directing the over spray ahead of me filling in the shadows with each coat, last coat looks beautiful,no orange peal or dull spots.
Interesting method! I tried a bunch of methods and the way I do it works best for me I don't typically get orange peel bad or bugs to this level but can't control every situation perfectly. I live in the county the bugs LOVE to find me at night 😂 if you get a chance do a video of your method I'd like to see it in action and tag me! God bless!!
I did a paint job with the dupli colour and was really impressed. It more looked like a flat smoke black than a gloss. But it was really smooth than the orange dimples in urs. Also didn’t wear a mask and throat burned for a week.
I have used krylon before it didn't hold up as long that's why I stopped using it and as for the orange peel that was due to the lack of heating the can up this isn't my best work by any means but for $7 it looks 100% better than it did lol
I had a Chrysler Concord with the self-extracting paint system. I primed it and rolled it with Rust-Oleum oil based paint. It came out dull. Too bad your video came out 10 years too late! My kids were embarrassed to ride in it.
There was an entire forums devoted to rolled on rustoleum paint jobs.after a cut and buff it comes out glossy. But James is the guy to watch for making rustoleum look good.
This is my favorite video you've done so far. Appreciate how detailed you were. But I'd have a really hard time being patient to pick those bugs out. Id have to grab some tweezers!
I have learned by letting them stay its easier to get them out after its dry. In my next video you can see how clean the hood turned out since it was fully dry i was able to clean it and wow it looks even better than it did in this video!
Nice job man! Curse those pesky bugs! Lol! I’ve got a black car to tinker with too! I’m probably gonna try this! Rustoleum primer 1st! Thanks for the motivation & Hope! Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the Victory ✌️ 🙏🏽👋🏻
Amen 🙏🏻 I appreciate it and when using the primer after it's cured I would do a 400 grit wet sand before applying the gloss black over it so it comes out super smooth. Either way I know you can do it! Philippians 4:13 🙌🏻
Thanks and yeah no big deal on that it happens sometimes but a majority of them come out during the washing process since they aren't stuck deep down in the paint they are on top of it when it was tacky
Yes. lol I have used multiple ways the most dangerous but effective was a torch on the bottom of the can for a few seconds then shake and do it again and shake until the can is decently warm but the main method which should be used is hott water and let it sit in there for 5-10 mins. It sprays so much smoother once warmed up. Check my newest video i did a small update in the 7 things you should do video.
I have done it many different ways. Some times i wait a few days or a month wet sand with 800 or 1000 grit and 2K clear it or depending how hard pressed for time i am but I have done the 2K clear 15-20 mins after I paint. It depends how hott or fast it dries and I have done many methods. The best method i used was wait a month wet sand then clear.
Bless you brother!!! Just stepped into a hobby building and modding my kids electric bikes and mopeds. Theres so much overwhelming info about painting the frame and plastics. Do you consider the 5 in 1 better than the 2x rustoleum? For the frame , i was thinking 220 grit sand, l then 400, wash with degreaser, tack cloth. Now would you start a rustoleum primer then 5x for both frame n plastic covers. Should i need an adhesion promoter for the plastics. So many rustoleum cans on the shelf its hard to make a sound decision
I would do adhesion promoter for plastics for sure and as for the paint i prefer the 2X for faster drying projects but the longevity isn't as good. I prefer the 5-1 or gloss protective enamel aka advance formula for most my projects because it is stronger and last a lot longer. You seem to be right on the money when it comes to prep though I hope this helps! God bless!!!
Thanks for the quick tip advice. Ive been hacking away at this lbike frame with 220 for a while. Basecoat on their thick. You think th 5in 1 still be good even with former basecoat lingering
Bro! I love your channel and love the work you do. That being said that hood didnt look good at all. Maybe should have added 3 or 4 more coats so you would have enough to sand and buff.
I don't like rustoleum clear coat it's not that great to be honest. I use it for small things like wheels or something but not whole panels. I would rather use 2K clear for that instead because it works better.
@@JamesDguy i tried to use rustoleum clear in a can and it turned out good the first two times I used it, light coats, orange peel-y. Then I used it on a clear coat repair on my hood and it had bad fogginess and crazing the first couple of hours, which went away, then was good for a month before turning into literal dust and crystals in the parts where the oem clear coat was the worst. It looks like I never even did clear repair even though I used a whole can just on the hood. Almost got runs it was so thick, now there's nothing
