for reeeal... this show is so deep and intense, the characters and the acting are just freakin stellar. i really get lost in it while watching... it definitely takes on a life of its own
I was just thinking about how the character's heads would feel when I was working on part 2 of this. Watching them figure out what's happening is fun on the rewatch.
@@PetePeppers1 thanks Pete... You have overall good videos. We have a similar taste in TV shows. Big fan since Westworld, Mr Robot and The night of. Please consider "the expanse" in the future.
I am a fan of the Expanse. I just finished reading the 6th book last week. Will do some videos for season 4, but pretty bummed out that they will be released all at once. Would be fun to do episode recaps for it week by week.
@@PetePeppers1 great to hear... Looking forward to those videos. I've been through all the books. I think it's the best sci-fi show to date. Keep up your great work.
These videos are the perfect primer for anyone who wants to do a re-watch of Seasons 1 and 2. Thank you for putting this together. This is one of my favourite television shows of all time and I can't stop recommending it to people.
Man you did such an amazing job trying to simplify this timeline and it just goes to show awesome the writing is for this show. Nothing else even comes close in the realm of creativity. Thanks for your work.
Thanks. I wish they released this episodes weekly instead of all at once. Would be a lot of fun to discuss things in between each episode like Twin Peaks.
These are the questions I have after watching both seasons: 1. Is Adam really Jonas? 2. Who is Alexsander Tiedemann, where did he come from, and why is that important? 3. Why did young Claudia ask young Tronte to pull his pants down? 4. Who is Tronte’s father and is it important? 5. Who is Helge’s father and is it important? 6. Will Hannah have an affair with Egon Tiedemann in 1954 and what implications may that have? 7. Is Tronte Regina’s father and does that matter? 8. What is the deal with Woller, the man with the eyepatch, and his “sister,” Benni? Are they important to the plot? 9. Why didn’t young Jonas know that he had supposedly led Mikkel back into the cave in 1986? 10. Who is Hannah’s mother? Is it possible she becomes her own mother when she stays in 1953?
Jonas didn't know he led mikkel back to the cave because he only does it after Michael tells him he did. The Jonas who we have been following 'since season 1 isn't the same Jonas who led mikkel from season 1 into the cave
i don't understand why noah uses the chair to kill people when Noah successfully transfer from 1921 to the 80s and other times. they have the technique already in 1921 to make time machine
Yes but for things to remain the same they still need to use the chair on the boys and dump the bodies, otherwise there would be a ripple effect and everything would be different if they just didnt do it
Because they need it to happen the way it is, see its about cause and effect every single action impacts how the future turns out, Adam has saw everything and each action is pre decided and is the way he wants, we cannot reason anything because its Pre decided and planned move
Great job! I've been re-watching Dark these days (it's even better the second time around since you see things you didn't notice at first watch) and this timeline you did is a perfect add-on to put it all together. Off to watching part 2 of the timeline. :-)
As for Season 3, I hope they answer the 10 questions I’ve listed already, and more that I’ve left out. I am worried that, by introducing an alternate reality, everything is going to get irrevocably screwed up.
I wasn't sure how I felt about the alt-Martha when I finished the first time. After I read that there were only 3 seasons planned it seemed better. As long as they have a plan for it I have no reason to doubt that it will be as good as the first two seasons.
One thing that might help to clarify things better is a video showing the linear progression of each of the main characters (Jonas, Claudia, Noah, Urich, etc). That being said, I imagine that would be a massive endeavor. Either way, appreciate these videos, even if I'm a little late to the German party.
0:54 the guy on the left of Magnus looks very similar to bartosz, or am I seeing things? lmao I typed this comment before he even mentioned it but that solidifies the resemblance in my opinion

Mikkel's storyline struck me as incredibly dramatic. A young man travels to the past, matures, and is confronted with the sight of his parents and his own younger self in the future. It's no surprise that he had a difficult time coping with this extraordinary situation.
I haven't watched Dark..until now! You had my head spinning, so I thought it was worth a try. I do speak and understand German but used the sub titles as well. Just 2 episodes of s1 ending with Mikkel being transported back to 1986. So there seems to be a link between Chernobyl and Germany's nuclear power plant, incident free and due to shut down...So my journey begins, hehe!
I checked last week for a timeline of dark on youtube and found nothing! was about to rewatch it to make it by myself, but then checked youtube again and found this, thank you for taking the tame to make this!
Thx for this great video! Don't worry about the pronounciation, there are TH-camrs that REALLY kill the names. "No-Aaaah", "Joe-Ness", "Hell-Gayy", "Francesca", "Meg-Niss". You're really doing well, m8
It was a weird experience when I realized I had only been reading the names in the subtitles rather than hearing the characters pronounce them. Glad it didn't turn out to be unlistenable haha
Well done. I am not completely sure that going chronologically was the way to go, but it was interesting to hear it chronologically. The show seems to think it's where Michael/Mikkel does his thing at the beginning, but it seems to me that it's Mikkel at the caves..... ....But then they hamstring that a little in S2. Bootstrap Paradox Roolz.
Hey Pete, did you happened to do a breakdown for season 1? I enjoyed your content for Better Call Saul. You nailed dude, hopefully there’s one in your channel regarding season 1of Dark.
I only did a full recap and ending video for season 2. There were are already quite a few popular ones for the first season when I started making Dark videos. I made a video that tracks Jonas's linear path through time in the first two seasons, but nothing about the whole story besides how he's connect to it.
KINDLY AVOID SPOILERS TO SEASON 3 IN THE REPLIES I've been watching seasons 1 and 2 again and there were some things that I've always been confused about 1) On Nov 4 2019 , when the group is at the caves just before Mikkel goes missing , they hear sounds from cave and lights start flickering . Who was accessing the cave portal then ? ( Also reflected in 1986 , where 33 sheeps drop dead) 2)on 5th November night , we again see lights flickering in 2019 ( Charlotte picking up the dead birds ) and in 1986 ( Egon goes to the fields that night and birds drop on him dead) . Who is using the caves then? 3)In S1E1(4th November ) Jana says Ulrich about a "figure with large head " in the forest. Is it just her imagination ? Or if it is Helge ( as mentioned at 8:07), what was he doing there on Nov 4th?
Just had to check this video because in Season 1 Episode 2, the scene where Mikkel finds out he's in 1986 (Nov. 5) is shown after the scenes that happened in Nov. 6 2019. I guess it was shown out of sequence so that the episode ends with the time travel reveal? Who knows? Thanks.
Here's a thing, i think it is purposefully made so complicated, the gist of the series is not to understand the insignificant moments in time but to wait for the bigger moment that's being building all of it, no matter how hard we try to break it down it won't make sense because its made that way
OMFG! thx but still a little confusing lol guess I'll just start from episode 1 again. 😉 p.s. I think this show is amazing! Anyone missing "lost" will love this one.
Your videos about DARK and Watchmen are really great👍. BTW. Bartosz is Polish name. Also Aleksander Tidemann/Boris Niwald has some Polish origin. In Polish language "x" doesn't exist- instead of it, we use "ks" (x = ks). Boris is more "eastern" name that appears in Russia, Lithuania, Belarus etc- in Poland it is not popular and spelled/written as "Borys". Also there are a few people that surname is Niwald in Poland, but this surname sounds really German IMO, so maybe it has German roots. On polish sites about Dark I've found some theories that Boris/Aleksander is communist polish spy, who has just ran from Poland. That's why he and his son have got Polish names. (sorry for my english 😉)
Thanks for putting this together, it must have taken awhile. My question is, when Erik Obendorf is sent back in the time chair, do we really know that the hooded figure is Helge? I think there might be a twist here.
I'm fairly certain it's Helge. They used the raincoat to confuse us, but if you track Helge's involvement while working with Noah he makes the most sense. And, yes this did take a long time haha. Although it probably only amounts to a small percentage of the time I've spent thinking about the show since I finished season 2.
I am totally a addicted to this show. Did David Lynch inspire this. Certain scenes look like his work. Just a thought. I’m a senior citizen and I’m watching for the tenth time. You keep up the good work because you have already answered all my questions.
Middle aged Jonas showing up when Hannah put the gun to her head was no coincidence. That was the moment she shot and killed herself. So he altered things right then. When Hannah traveled back to the 1950’s NEVER happened before. It resulted in something amazing, the creation of a new timeline....in other words, A NEW WORLD!!! The same world in fact, that Martha traveled from when she saved Jonas.
5 ปีที่แล้ว
Just a correction fella: hannah traveled back to 54, not 21.
Did they ever mention she killed herself? Don't really get how you got to that thought
5 ปีที่แล้ว +2
@@thisisas4052 when adult Jonas arrives at Hannahs house, she's pointing that gun to her own head, cause shes miserable for the disappearence of Jonas, 1 year after hes husband died. Our friend thinks adult Jonas knew she would try to kill herself, because it happened in another timeline, so he went to her house to stop her. I'm not so sure if I agree, cause if I'm trying to stop my mother from suicide I would rush in and rip that gun out of her hand, but he arrived so quietly and camly. I would expect something more desperate like when he was trying to save Hannah.

But that's literally the only thing I have against this theory.
Thank you so much for this Pete Peppers. A liitle question : Is the bunker with decoration and chair to send kids to other time in 1986 the same room with the bunker in 1953 or 2019 ?
@@PetePeppers1i'm also confused by that. they die on the chair how come erik and yasin didnt die on their way to 1986 but they do die when they are send to 1954?
Okay so since it is not shown you omitted the point where Erik was brought to 1986. But that is an interesting fact since he was abducted after Mads was but before Mads was sent to 2019 through the chair. So Erik must have witnessed what happened to Mads before Helge did the same to him.

oldest claudia was in the cave, and carried the dog through time.
Great work, one comment only: older Claudia traveled to 1953 and she called Gretchen from inside the cave to send the dog through the cave to herself in 1986
So the overall basis of the show is everybody discovering time travel then proceeding to do everything that you're not supposed to do while time traveling.

I still don't understand anything but thanks for this increadible video.
1 thank you so much for showing this events in "chronological order" The my big question is why are they using methods of time travel that results in death. What purpose does they deaths serve
I think they are going for the Bioshock Infinite plot here. Who played the game knows what i am talking about. The thing that connects this show and a game is not dimensional or time travel thing since there are plenty shows that have those, its actually Jonas storyline. In the game Bioshock you play as a guy named Booker DeWitt an PI who gets paid to travel to another world to save a girl named Elizabeth that is imprisoned by a bad guy named Comstock and throughout the game there is a lot of dimensional traveling and other time related fun stuff like in the show but that not important to my point. SPOILER ALERT! In the end of the game you actually find out that the Comstock is actually you....Now you are probabbly wondering how he didnt recognize himself? well its simple, Dimensional/Time travel actually changes your appearance its explained pretty much like in the show. (its the same thing how Jonas didnt recognize himself...) So you kill Comstock but figure out that he already existed and that he will always exist in different worlds and time and do all the bad stuff hes done, and u figure out the only way to stop Comstock from happening is to go to the turning point where you either remain Booker DeWitt or become Comstock. So in the end of course u go and kill yourself before u can either become Comstock or not thus ending everything. Now in the show things a little bit different but the main concept stays the same. Here is the parallel, so what if the turning point for Jonas is actually when Adam kills Martha to ensure that Jonas will become him in the future? And in the other world there is another Jonas that doesnt see Martha getting killed thus not becoming Adam, and what if that jonas is actually Jonas that helped Mikkel go trough that portal to 1986? And the only way to stop Jonas becoming Adam is to actually save Martha from getting shot by Adam? I dont know...maybe i am totally wrong but i am just sharing my opinion since the ending really reminded me of Bioshock. Sorry if the explanation is so long but i tried to simplify plot of the game a lot to try and make a parallel to you guys that didnt play the game and have no idea what am talking about. Thanks for reading and tell me what do you think about this?
Unless of course Jonas who sees Martha getting killed already sent Mikkel through the caves. Note that he had to travel from June 25th 2019 to June 26th 2020 "the long way round" since he did not have access to Adam's machine anymore. Therefore he has already passed November 4th 2019 again and "abduct" Mikkel. Also the other worldline probably does not have a Jonas at all since Claudia already remarked that she has seen such a world... back then she implied that this was a version of her own worldline changed from Jonas meddling with the past. It's more likely that both worldline are in themselves deterministic and they are interwoven ever since traveling between the wordlines is possible. For the moment in which Jonas decides: Adam described that moment in the end of season two but shortly before we can actually see the decision. Adam said that Jonas would chose not to stop Adam but to save Martha instead. Stranger-Jonas was set to shoot and kill Adam which in turn might have saved Martha from the gunshot wound. (But shortly after all three of them would have probably parished in the blast wave.) Then he gets a letter from Martha and suddenly decides to save Magnus, Franziska and Bartosz. This was probably the moment. Jonas has already made his decision.
Can someone explain me, how did the loop kept happening? What or how did reset time? Also did we see from Jonas point of view taking mikkel to the cave?
1. Mikkel and Michael lived in same place same town since the childhood. Why anyone didn't say they look similar? Michael, Hannah, Ulric and everyone else went same school. So when Mikkel was born, why didn't they recognized as the Micheal? How did no one said they look same? 2. Why did Michael had to die? He could have lived until he was old as long as Mikkel was going to time travel. Why was that suicide necessary? 3. When Jonas came to tell his father not to suicide, How did the Claudia time travelled? She was already killed by Noah.
1. No sane person would ever consider time travel when seeing a resemblance between two people. We don't see much of Mikkel growing up but given their age difference, it's very likely he did meet with young Ulrich and young Katharina many times. If they didn't meet, it's unlikely they'd remember a kid they saw a few times over 30 years ago. Hannah DOES see a resemblance but she dismisses it as a Deja Vu because there's no logical explanation to her for they could both be the same person. 2. Because this is a causal loop, he had to die because he had already died. There's no beginning or end. Jonas tells him it's what happened so that's what HAS to happen again. If Michael doesn't die, then Jonas wouldn't read his father's letter about him being Mikkel and time traveling through the cave. That means Jonas doesn't travel through the cave to see the truth in 1986 and the rest of the events wouldn't unfold. If Jonas never travels to the past then there wouldn't be a version of Jonas to lead Mikkel through the cave which means Mikkel doesn't time travel which means Jonas is never born. 3. Claudia dying in 1954 doesn't erase the events and her appearance in later dates. Remember that it is 2019. In 33-year intervals, that would mean "it's also 1920" which means Claudia appearing in 2019 happened 1 year before his death in 1954. Michael commits suicide in June 2019 and Claudia is shot by Noah in June 1954. That's year timeframe is the time Jonas spends learning with Claudia.

Part 2 of this series - th-cam.com/video/dLpYY6nDka4/w-d-xo.html
Season 2 is organized by days leading up to the apocalypse so those episodes all put a date on the events that happen. In season 1 it's a little more confusing, but we know based on the events like the kids going missing and things like that. There could definitely be some mistakes in this, but should be pretty close to the days things happened. The years are easier since they are connected by people travelling back and forth through the tunnels and the HG Tannhaus machine. If someone travels in 2019 they end up in 53, 86, 2052. If they leave from 2020 they end up in 54, 87, 2053 and so on.
Pete Peppers I was mostly thinking in terms of season 1, which is not as clear cut with dates as season 2. But yeah, it looks like you can organise a lot of events based on season 2’s timeline. One of the things I was trying to figure out is the year-date when Erik is sent back in time. Great work by the way.
I am not looking at the document right now, but I think you figure out Erik's path from seeing middle Helge removing the body. Erik was abducted in 2019, taken to 1986, and then died being transferred through the chair to 1953. It's confusing when you watch it the first time because the bunker seems to be decorated like 1986 rather than him actually being there. Erik and Yasin's bodies arrive in 1953 between Nov. 5th and Nov 9th and are discovered on Nov. 10th.
What episode was it where Ulrich tried to take Mikkel, or when he saw the other kids? I finished season 2 last night and have no recollection of those scenes? Is it me or were they edited out in the USA (maybe saved for Season 3)?
Why Michael(jonas dad) has to die in 2019 ??? I mean why mikael(ulrichs son) can't just go to 1983 through the cave on 4th novermber ? Because michael hanged himself in june 2019 and mikael went back in 1983. I dont see any connection between those 2 events
If he didn't die jonas would never go to look in the cave in the first place and non of these events would happen,if mikkel doesn't go missing jonas would never born
Is it just me or the lady in the photo of Sic Mundus standing between the older Magnus and Francesca(?) looks a lot like Justyna Jankowski (one of the female police officers in 2019). Hard to say for sure and probably highly unlikely but it would be interesting if she is also one of the travellers and somehow gets connected with the eye patch guy.
A lot of people think Boris Niewald (Alexander) is Jonas and Martha's son. I'm not sure if I want that to be true. But then again, Jonas said multiple times to Martha "you and I are meant to each other, don't let anyone tell you other wise" so I think at some point Jonas found a way for them to not be relatives, maybe in this other world, and maybe that's when they have a son. If not, there's two options: Hannah could have a kid with a Nielsen in 1954 or Katharina (a Nielsen) could have a kid with a Kanwald in whatever year she's in.
Something more I wanted to say, I think Magnus and Franciska might have some bigger importance than they had til now. It's been revealed Magnus is part of sic mundus so Franciska might be as well but even then I think they should have a bigger role in this, why would Adam have recluted them if not? Noah and Agnes had bigger roles than just being time travelers, even Helge had a bigger role. Also, they're a couple, which means they could have a children at some point.
Melik Kaan Kocabıyık that is a loss for sure. The have intrinsically dubbed it in English. I watched again in German and LEARNED WORDS!!! Big loss, JS.
She gave him sleeping pills so he'd forget about his family. Maybe there's a deeper connection there too. But she's trying to keep him with her instead of heading back to his home time
I'm pretty sure most of the trouble in these series could have been avoided if winden wasn't a town full of people who like to stare dramstically at infinity in silence when asked basic questions and when they finally decide they wanna answer questions they spit complete out of context nonsense which they know the other person will obviously not understand. I hated how Ulrich just decided to puke so much nonsense instead of trying to act like a normal chap and avoid being in prison for 33 years, I hated how mikkel decide to say absolutely nothing about anything at all even when he had his father with him. I hated how egon died without doing anything remarkable, he didn't find out about anything, he didn't contribute to anything. I think they wasted Noah's character, I'm OK with the idea of Noah being a right hand instead if the big baddie but they set him up for greatness in season 1 to massively degrade him on season 2. I do like the series despite the tendency to waste characters. The biggest win for me is the introduction of new world Martha, because it explains how they could end the loop, the loop cannot be broken from inside, it would be lazy story writing. They did something similar in agents of shield season 5. They set a paradox where one of the main characters is sent to the future to see how she destroyed earth in the hopes that she wouldn't do it anymore. But just the fact that she went and saw it meant that it didn't work, because it was still there. I was hoping some creative writing in how they would manage to break the loop but at the end they broke it just because "this time was different somehow" it was a huge disappointment, but here it seems it could be different, since by bringing a character from a different dimension they're adding a new element into the loop, which is a one dimension time loop, I think it's creative, I like it.
By the way, it’s EE-gone, not IH-gun or AY-gone, and Ee-NEZ, not IH-niss. You switched back and forth between pronunciations several times and it threw me off. Just thought I’d help ya out :)
I WANT TO ASK IF THERE IS 3 CYCLES AND THERE ARE SAME IT MEANS THAT THERE WERE 3 APOCALYPSE AND THE DEAD ONES GETS ALIVE (CLAUDIA) AND WHEN TRAVELER JONES TALK WITH MARTHA AT THE LAKE AND MAGNUS SEE FRENZISKA AND THOUGHT SHE WAS DEAD HOW SHE WAS WITH THENM CAUSE THEY STARTED TALKING AFTER MIKKEL GOT INTO THE CAVE WHEN SHE WAS STANDING WITH THE DRUGS IN FRONT OF THE CAVE🤷🤷
Where did Jonas age from being say 18 in 2019 to being the Stranger who is say 30. Did he spend over 10 years in the future as young Jonas and then come back as the Stranger. This also applies to the time between the Stranger Jonas and Adam
The actor who plays the stranger is 50. You would think each different Jonas is 33 years older than the last. We don't know everywhere he was in those years yet.
Jonas Noah Adam same person, yeah? so who is the [young] guy that Jonas meets in 1921 wuth the 2 slashes/red marks across his right cheek? Described as young Noah....
baybythe bay oh sorry, everyone that was outside the bunker dies in 2020. Destroyed winden was then repopulated by the people in the bunker. Everyone in 2053 is still alive.
The caves are connected across time. If they are open they connect the different time periods. In the months after Stranger activates the machine at the end of season 1 they're closed until Jonas reopens them.
The girl from 2052 (Elizabeth's translator) might be Hannah's and Igon's daughter if they have a child..I don't know if that's even possible considering her age when she gets to 1953 but if it is then they may have this girl together and she somehow learns about time travel and goes to 2052
The mindblowing thing is that old Claudia says to 2020 Jonas in 2019 with his father and friend next to him, that she has seen the world without him. But, during all the show you have quite understood that this fact can´t be possible, unless there are alternative worlds with other realities. Because, all the episodes before guide us to think that they can travel to the past or future, but not change things that will happen (fate VS free will). The fact that, things like the actions of the past can be changed because the alternative worlds with other realities exist, could be the solution to win the war to fate. So, when does Claudia travel to another world? Waiting for season 3! XD
i hope thats the answer, but i cant really trust claudia. 1. her old self scares me shitless. 2. it was hinted that she betrayed jonas and noah and had her own agenda. right now i only trust charlotte

Thanks. I wish they released this episodes weekly instead of all at once. Would be a lot of fun to discuss things in between each episode like Twin Peaks.
These are the questions I have after watching both seasons:
I don't think that Hannah becomes her own mother. She goes back to 53 in her late 40s. It is unlikely that she can become pregnant at her age.
And she was born around the 70s anyway. Even if she travels to that time period, I don't think she can be a mother again with that age.
Natan Carlos but if Elizabeth can be Charlotte’s daughter AND mother, anything is possible.
Jonas didn't know he led mikkel back to the cave because he only does it after Michael tells him he did. The Jonas who we have been following 'since season 1 isn't the same Jonas who led mikkel from season 1 into the cave
Shitisleip - THAT IS SO CONFUSING! How many Jonases are there?
bookmarking this video for june 2020 to see again before season 3, thanks!
Yes, June 2020 can't get here fast enough.
season 3 has just been announced, 1 month left!
Andrew Ross 33 days
Here i am. Binge watching all three seasons now three times until i understand them.
i don't understand why noah uses the chair to kill people when Noah successfully transfer from 1921 to the 80s and other times. they have the technique already in 1921 to make time machine
Yes but for things to remain the same they still need to use the chair on the boys and dump the bodies, otherwise there would be a ripple effect and everything would be different if they just didnt do it
Because they need it to happen the way it is, see its about cause and effect every single action impacts how the future turns out, Adam has saw everything and each action is pre decided and is the way he wants, we cannot reason anything because its Pre decided and planned move
maybe noah tries to create his own to create his own timeline
Hey! I remember you from your Twin Peaks videos... It appears that we have the same taste in television :). Keep rocking it, Pete Peppers!!
Great job! I've been re-watching Dark these days (it's even better the second time around since you see things you didn't notice at first watch) and this timeline you did is a perfect add-on to put it all together. Off to watching part 2 of the timeline. :-)
Cheers for this cos I needed a brain scan trying to figure it all out again before watching series 3!!
Yes, me too. Or, you could watch Episodes 1 & 2 again, like I did. Then watch Episode 3.
Pete Peppers all I could think of was LOST.
@@lesliemisaacs oh man Lost. My all time disappointment😑
I was just thinking last week that I wish you would cover Dark!
I have some downtime this week so might do a couple other videos after I finish the timeline.
Excellent explanation!
You did SUCH a good job on this! Thanks so much for taking the time and putting in the work
No problem. Been stuck in a Dark loop since I finished watching season 2 haha.
Thank you so much for this, I love Dark, have watched it 3 or 4 times so far. You're video is very helpful

So was ye world created=Sic Mundus creatus est. Literally translated, it could also mean 'The World created You'
@@paulalowery7411 How could it mean "The world created you"? Mundus is in nominative, creatus est is passive.
Mikkel's storyline struck me as incredibly dramatic. A young man travels to the past, matures, and is confronted with the sight of his parents and his own younger self in the future. It's no surprise that he had a difficult time coping with this extraordinary situation.
can you do this with season 3 too?
I haven't watched Dark..until now! You had my head spinning, so I thought it was worth a try. I do speak and understand German but used the sub titles as well. Just 2 episodes of s1 ending with Mikkel being transported back to 1986. So there seems to be a link between Chernobyl and Germany's nuclear power plant, incident free and due to shut down...So my journey begins, hehe!
Awesome. Hope you like Dark as much as I did. Have a few more videos planned after I finish the timeline.
I checked last week for a timeline of dark on youtube and found nothing! was about to rewatch it to make it by myself, but then checked youtube again and found this, thank you for taking the tame to make this!
No problem. Finishing up the second part now.
This is fantastic, thank you so much for doing this.
Thank you so much. I will watch this again before season 3 starts.
Really hard to wrap one's head around this show, which means multiple viewing is required. Yay!
We still haven't learned why Micheal had black muck all over himself
It's Jonas imagination
Thx for this great video! Don't worry about the pronounciation, there are TH-camrs that REALLY kill the names. "No-Aaaah", "Joe-Ness", "Hell-Gayy", "Francesca", "Meg-Niss".
You're really doing well, m8
It was a weird experience when I realized I had only been reading the names in the subtitles rather than hearing the characters pronounce them. Glad it didn't turn out to be unlistenable haha
@@PetePeppers1 have you tried the English dubbed version?
@@juliuskolb7765 No, I usually watch shows I'm interested in with subs anyway so I just imagined it would be easier to follow that way.
Coming from 1986 to see this explanation. Great you guys have TH-cam. Thanks, bye...
Dad?
Can anyone post an explaining video for this explanation?
KINDLY AVOID SPOILERS TO SEASON 3 IN THE REPLIES
I've been watching seasons 1 and 2 again and there were some things that I've always been confused about
1) On Nov 4 2019 , when the group is at the caves just before Mikkel goes missing , they hear sounds from cave and lights start flickering . Who was accessing the cave portal then ? ( Also reflected in 1986 , where 33 sheeps drop dead)
2)on 5th November night , we again see lights flickering in 2019 ( Charlotte picking up the dead birds ) and in 1986 ( Egon goes to the fields that night and birds drop on him dead) . Who is using the caves then?
3)In S1E1(4th November ) Jana says Ulrich about a "figure with large head " in the forest. Is it just her imagination ?
Or if it is Helge ( as mentioned at 8:07), what was he doing there on Nov 4th?
I can’t wait for S3. Once and for all, this show will go out with a bang.
Thank you for this video!!!!
Fred from SciFi TV Rewatch Podcast told me to come here - thanks for a great piece of research!
Just had to check this video because in Season 1 Episode 2, the scene where Mikkel finds out he's in 1986 (Nov. 5) is shown after the scenes that happened in Nov. 6 2019. I guess it was shown out of sequence so that the episode ends with the time travel reveal? Who knows? Thanks.
Here's a thing, i think it is purposefully made so complicated, the gist of the series is not to understand the insignificant moments in time but to wait for the bigger moment that's being building all of it, no matter how hard we try to break it down it won't make sense because its made that way
Love this show. Thank you for doing this
OMFG! thx but still a little confusing lol guess I'll just start from episode 1 again. 😉 p.s. I think this show is amazing! Anyone missing "lost" will love this one.
Claudia, the real MVP
I had rewatched season 1 before starting season 2. I hope just rewatching season 2 will be enough for me to completely understand season 3...
My question is, when Erik Obendorf is sent back
in the time chair, do we really know that the hooded figure is Helge? I think there might be a twist here.
I'm fairly certain it's Helge. They used the raincoat to confuse us, but if you track Helge's involvement while working with Noah he makes the most sense. And, yes this did take a long time haha. Although it probably only amounts to a small percentage of the time I've spent thinking about the show since I finished season 2.
I am totally a addicted to this show. Did David Lynch inspire this. Certain scenes look like his work. Just a thought. I’m a senior citizen and I’m watching for the tenth time. You keep up the good work because you have already answered all my questions.
Probably will be explained in the next video, but at 3:56 why does Erik get sent from 1986? I thought he died in 2019?
Video Ideas: Every time Jonas time travels (or every time someone time travels)
I made this one that follows Jonas journey - th-cam.com/video/fBkpFK3n1AY/w-d-xo.html
Just a correction fella: hannah traveled back to 54, not 21.
Vinícius Galant sure did. Edited that, thank you sir.
Did they ever mention she killed herself? Don't really get how you got to that thought
Yes, it is the same bunker.
3:54 I thought Erik was sent there from 2019 and not 1986? Can someone correct me if I'm wrong please?
They take him to 1986 first. You can tell by the wallpaper in the bunker.
@@PetePeppers1i'm also confused by that. they die on the chair how come erik and yasin didnt die on their way to 1986 but they do die when they are send to 1954?
@@bia9857 he takes them to the eighties through the caves.
10:56 The resemblance between younger Alexsander and the older one are just uncanny!
Great work, one comment only: older Claudia traveled to 1953 and she called Gretchen from inside the cave to send the dog through the cave to herself in 1986
Mammoth effort. 🙌🏼
So the overall basis of the show is everybody discovering time travel then proceeding to do everything that you're not supposed to do while time traveling.
I still don't understand anything but thanks for this increadible video.
Amazing show, I have never in my life watched a better show than DARK!!!
1 thank you so much for showing this events in "chronological order"
The my big question is why are they using methods of time travel that results in death.
You’re going to have to do a new one of these Pete lol
I love this show so much

I can't remember precisely, but do we get all these dates on the show? (in superimposed titles)
S2E6 or 7 I guess when Ulrich tried to take mikkel back to 2019 with him
At 1:11 mins in - you say ‘there’s 6 more unidentified people in the photo’ - but there’s actually 7 🙂
This show fried my brain
Excellent public service, sir! thanks
Gretchen the dog actually mutates into Falkor the flying dog from Never ending story, due to Winden radiation!
Best series ever better than ridiculous things
Definitely my favorite series on Netflix.
Melik Kaan Kocabıyık that is a loss for sure. The have intrinsically dubbed it in English. I watched again in German and LEARNED WORDS!!! Big loss, JS.
I was wondering what Ines gave Mikkel. Sleeping pills? I guess it's of importance. Somehow involved in sic mundus?
yeah I thought that too
She gave him sleeping pills so he'd forget about his family. Maybe there's a deeper connection there too. But she's trying to keep him with her instead of heading back to his home time
You can't have chronological order in Dark as ...... Time is not linear.....but cyclical
Any series like dark?
Helge kidnaps Mads, using the chair and it kills him? Never knew that. thanks
I don't understand, what exactly is the God particle? Thanks again for making things clearer.
If anyone can help me further understand Dark. It's gonna be Pete Peppers.
By the way, it’s EE-gone, not IH-gun or AY-gone, and Ee-NEZ, not IH-niss.
You switched back and forth between pronunciations several times and it threw me off. Just thought I’d help ya out :)
Why Jonas was pulled 66 years and Helge only 33?
Well he has presumably been with Marta ver. 2, unless that is something completely new to the loop.
Jonas Noah Adam same person, yeah? so who is the [young] guy that Jonas meets in 1921 wuth the 2 slashes/red marks across his right cheek? Described as young Noah....

How do jonas and claudia open the portal in 1987 but people are still able to travel through the portal in 1953???
The caves are connected across time. If they are open they connect the different time periods. In the months after Stranger activates the machine at the end of season 1 they're closed until Jonas reopens them.
@@PetePeppers1 this is the best explanation I've received. I've been going mad at this for hours now. Than you so much❤️
The girl from 2052 (Elizabeth's translator) might be Hannah's and Igon's daughter if they have a child..I don't know if that's even possible considering her age when she gets to 1953 but if it is then they may have this girl together and she somehow learns about time travel and goes to 2052
In this show, anything is possible but I don't see it. Hannah is 14 in 1986 which would mean she is 47-48 at the time she travels to 1954.
XD
Yes, that statement from Claudia seems important. Can't wait for season 3 as well.
i hope thats the answer, but i cant really trust claudia. 1. her old self scares me shitless. 2. it was hinted that she betrayed jonas and noah and had her own agenda. right now i only trust charlotte
We need season 3
