We just got the game. Reminds me of forbidden island with dice. It's confusing because I think when it hits 5 game over. I'm like why do we keep playing. This is the best video to learn thank you

We had people playing on difficulty level 2 of 5 at Gen Con. :)
That second editionseems pretty different from v1. I didn't expect them to get rid of the athenians mechanism, interrsting decision. :)
I will be honest and say that I am not even able to understand what are the rules and the goal of the game.
Worker placement. Choose a spot on the board. Before resolving your spot, draw from essentially an event deck. This can include flooding. If a worker is on a spot that gets flooded you forfeit that action. Resolve actions by rolling dice to get resources or turning in resources to progress win condition of activating the cosmic gate. Flood tiles. Repeat until either you build the cosmic gate to win or all tiles are flooded and you lose.
It’s a “cosmic” gate and any resemblance to anyone else’s intellectual property is a coincidence......
