I will give them credit for jumping on the buzzword early. But people watching this and thinking "wow AI" or "dey took er jerbs" have 0 clue what industry is like apparently.

I was very Impressed! The Abuayyash farmers know what they are doing. You should note that the "Premium" grade is what would go to the banquet table, the others might go to the commercial side and be used in recipes.

Ma shaa Allah. We've tried planting a few date palms from the seeds, but never really had any luck with them. They never bore and fruits either. Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago. 🇹🇹
Dates will not produce good edible fruit. It takes upwards of ten years before you can see any fruit and then the quality is never the same a the original and 50% chance of getting a male tree which just produces flowers. To grow the same variety as the original, you need to cut a baby from the mother tree and plant it. You should have some dates in about four to five years.
@@aligavary1160 thank you Ali. I have noticed some of those characteristics that you mentioned... taking long to grow, male flowers. Does that mean I need to get the "baby" plants from a bearing tree? I've tried the baby plants from the ones we planted, but the results seem to be the same. 🤔

You also need to pollinate the female flowers using the male flowers. Just sprinkle some powder from the male flower on the female flowers. Without pollination you will not get good edible fruit.

@@AnsariBaksh that’s tough! I don’t know if you have the right climate for Dates. You need temps over 90F in growing season to have any chance. Rainfall should be under 2 inches a year and low humidity. If you sow 10 or 20 seeds, you will get some females and some males. You may have some females producing dates close to mother fruit. Of course you need to pollinate the female flowers with flowers from the male trees, make sure to keep at least one male tree for pollination purpose. Good luck!

I don't know any thing about this facility, this video, Jordan, or how dates are grown and sorted. I do know that when I came home from work and saw that I only had 4 medjool dates that I got panicky. I eat 6 to 8 every day! I gotta' have my dates!
