I've played a lot of games, read a lot of stories, written a fair number of stories over the years. This incredible, heart rending quote is the reason Mass Effect and Shepard are the most incredible story to date. The story, the characters, the gut-wrenching decisions make this universe incredible. You feel real emotions, make real decisions in the trilogy. There are great games and stories, but Mass Effect is the eutopian climax of character driven, player engaging story telling.
I agree with you. Nothing will ever come close to the kind of experience I’ve gained from this series. The storytelling is incredible, the gameplay fun, and the voice acting top-notch. Speaking of real emotions, I’ve never cried in a video game before I played this trilogy and have never cared for any characters. In ME3, I can’t help but cry at all the tragic side stories, and character deaths. This series really cuts deep sometimes. I have not experienced another game that could make me feel that emotional before.

This - THIS - is Exactly why I don't want CDR Shepard to sign off. There is too much good lore already in the Milky Way, too many good friends to leave behind, too many stories left to tell. There is still plenty of room for more amazing adventures, and plenty of places left to explore.
YES! I agree with this statement 100%! Too many stories left to tell! I don't think I could handle an ME4 (ME: Andromeda is NOT ME4,; it is a spinoff and should be left that way) game taking place in the Milky Way w/o Shepard.
I hope they come back, imo Shepard is Mass Effect and no one can fill those shoes, ever, everyone else will fall short. Might as well just do another offshoot. Mass Effect: X whatever other story.
@you_need_god unfortunately every thing is speculation right now. I don't think Bioware will invest a new protagonist for just 1 game. Everything seems to be ME6 to be more shift toward Ryder. But fans were so disappointed at the end of ME3 that bioware has fixed that. I can't see Liara being the only one. Admittedly, she was after Shepard, probably the most popular character. But there was a big fan base that didn't like her. They kinda felt she was shoved down fans' throats, especially for Femshep. Fans are going to want to see their choices represented in ME5. As far as the trailer, we can tell it's female and that it's human because it's an N7. My guess is Miranda. Fans forget she wasn't a natural born human, and Henry Lawson did want his dynasty to last forever. 150 to 200 years isn't close to forever. He was capable of using DNA or genetic marker from, say, the Asari or the Krogan. Think about Miranda. All she told Shepard was that her father incorporated Y.chromosomes from many females, which means she wasn't born but grown, and she never said the females were human. She has superior intelligence, beauty, healing, and lifespan. Also, she is unable to get pregnant, and if you remember the collector base, she broke a pod open with her bare hands. Lastly, in ME3. Javik said she was human but artificially created, and Jack called her a test tube clone. That might have been just an insult, or maybe Jack saw something in the Cerberus files that she was hoping to use against Miranda.
@@Brinic1 Yeah plus after Shep was brought back. Who is really to say if she/he is really human at all. Could be synthetic organs, skin, etc...Shep might be able to live for hundreds of years unless killed outright.
I’m so stressed about everything in life lost so many loved ones and family pets recently just got moved out of a homeless accommodation into a new flat started paying rent and bills not being able to work cause of my health and not getting much help apart from my gf thankfully but theirs always ass effect to cry on lol this made my horrible day so much more bearable thank you so much for this

I’m more and more convinced that this game is 650 ish years after me3 and is incorporating andromeda and Milky Way antagonists in some way which could be great But that leaves the only people possible to be alive as grunt, wrex, and liara. Wrex is already 1300-1500 years old and no telling how long a krogan can live, especially when the overall leader Unless Miranda was given asari dna she won’t be alive if it’s that timeline. Shepard and liara could have a kid even if they weren’t romanced due to last mind meld in me3. There are a lot of possibilities but combining the 2 and combining antagonists seems the most likely route

Could show the consequences of the reapers dying etc There are plenty of phenomenal ways to combine the 2 and create a great new trilogy If they play their cards right they could even set up for 5 more games

I believe they could answer that and the dark energy plot with keeping fan favorites alive and show how the galaxy rebuilt after the reaper war That should satisfy most everyone except those that want Shepard alive as the playable character
