    Thanks for the explanations! But I don't understand this part, so Mahavira was a Tirthankara and the Buddha wasn't, or Lao Tzu? It rather sounds like a belief in Jainism then. Because whatever Mahavira taught, Gautama did also. And I'd say that Gautama's level of wisdom seems higher than that of Mahavira's (I studied both for about 2 years). Thanks in advance for any replies!

      Mahavira's most of teachings have not yet been translated/ decoded And many more has been lost. So to understand Mahavira one need intense level of curiosity.

    How is a Tirthankara different from a Buddha? The arrival of Buddha is stated as a much rarer occurrence than the arrival of a Tirthankara.
