- La llegada de Paramhansa Yogananda a Boston hace 100 años en 1920 marcó el comienzo de una nueva ola de conciencia espiritual en Estados Unidos y en todo el mundo. Su misión era la paz mundial y la hermandad, así como la autorrealización individual, las cuales, dijo, podrían lograrse mediante la práctica de técnicas de meditación transformadora como Kriya Yoga, a la que se refirió como “la ruta del avión hacia Dios. "
Cuando publicó su ahora famosa Autobiografía de un yogui en 1946, fue poco después del final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, un conflicto que rezó para que nunca se repitiera. El libro tuvo una tremenda influencia e inspiró a los líderes espirituales en el creciente movimiento contracultural que floreció más de una década después. A través de sus libros, enseñanzas y prácticas de meditación y yoga, Yogananda ayudó a marcar el comienzo del aumento radical en el interés por la paz, la conciencia y la autotransformación. Por esto, a menudo se le conoce hoy como el "padre del yoga en Occidente".
Ahora, mientras honramos el centenario de su llegada a Boston, y el nacimiento de su misión mundial, celebramos el cambio de conciencia que comenzó en el siglo XX y continúa hoy. En él reside una de nuestras mayores esperanzas para el futuro.

People who make disrespectful comments should try and accept that there are things in this world that they do not yet understand or comprehend, and that is okay. Part of the reason people attack is not borne of someone else's issues, but because they are confused, afraid or lost. We all are on some level until we become realised. Peace comes from within first. When we feel negative emotions we tend to strike out at others with criticism or anger which emanates from inside of us. Find peace inside your own head and there will be less necessity to hurt others via anger or criticism. There is truly nothing we have control over in this world, but possibly peace is available within once we control our own turbulent minds. The Bhagavad-Gita is an allegory for this internal struggle with instruction of how we may defeat our own out of control ego which is necessary for survival but when not tamed is responsible for most of the pain in the world and within us.
I agree there are many unknown things but this guy has zero contribution in finding any.

I’m appalled at these comments. You all are incredibly disrespectful. Why on Earth would you fix your mouth or fingers to comment such things on this wonderful being. A vessel of God who has actually tasted the fruits of attunement with God. And then did his duty of helping others experience that same peace and joy. Paramahansa Yogananda never made a mockery or a sex club out of his role here on Earth, like actual scammers and false saints. Nor did he use it as a means for personal wealth. As he already had all the true wealth one should ever long for. His purpose and aim was as pure as it gets. To help guide God’s children back home.

After reading many of the comments, I feel that there are a large number of people who know the purpose of life. They know the futility of wealth. Samadhi = Samam + Aadhi in Tamil language. Samam meaning same. Aadhi means first / beginning. Attaining/realizing/ Being in the same state of Aadhi where everything starts (the eternal state of emptiness)

They don't actually will their own death. God wills it, and it happens only when it is time. The advanced yogis actually are lightened with knowledge of the self and of God that they know exactly when that is going to happen
And then by yogic practices, decide to leave their body in a particular way in full awareness
It is an art, that must be learnt when alive. It is afterall said, "this life is preparation for death"
