I can’t wait for your on ice thoughts! I just ordered an L87/px3 set in mostly black, red and little white and I’m so excited! One question is how do you carry your pads with no strap or even a place to put a holder?
Bones I want to order and try out those hybrid push pro laces. My px3’s have the standard ones that came with the pads. What are the specs on those ones? Thank you
And how do you like the weave design a few months in? Making my new set and inspired but how you chose to work in weave in a few of the patters. Sharp set
I love adding weave in different spots. Adds a bit of texture and breaks up color zones of the same color. Cool little detail you notice when you see it up close
Actually surprised that overlapped layers with heavy stitching like on this set is the go to for many pros. I'd assume something like the Mach line, that has no stitching and flat surface would offer better control and no possibilities of weird rebounds if the puck hits the overlapped layers in a weird way.
I can’t really say that the cut and sew style creates any inconsistent bounces. Things have definitely come a long way since the days of vertical rolls and shin straps 😂
How do these toe ties attach? It seems like whatever I do I have to go around the back heel of the skate? I criss cross front, to middle, around back, criss cross again middle, and then there's finally enough tension to attach the velcro above the skate. Is that correct?

@@BonesyTV Interesting, I've always struggled with knee dropping off if my boot strap isn't kinda tight. Rocking my eflex 2 pads, maybe newer strappings have improved something
@@wawelytti I think it’s that the pad may be too big for you. If your sliding of knee block (especially off the back) where it is designed for your knees to hit, then your legs are simply not long enough to be hitting that knee block every time. I think a size lower in a pad would do you good. If that isn’t realistic I would get bigger knee guards or try to adjust your pad in a way that feels like you can’t miss the knee block!
@@skirtsam1441 Yea I think 1 inch shorter would be optimal but just got too good deal for current ones lol. Trying modified professor strap to see if it helps at all.
@@wawelytti I hope it works out man. You can always buy the boot strap on its own. Should be a place for it on your eflex 2’s. Especially make sure you do a Lundqvist style through your back tab of your skate that will insure your pads sit higher on your legs.
Did you mention the weight? Im always interested to hear the exact weight of pads. They do look nice and i think the yellow back either won't look much different or will look nice with some stains. The stains on my white backed pads are more yellowish aka sweat stained.
Haha yeah I have a feeling the yellow will just get a little darker where the white tends to get a little yellow like yours. But no I totally forgot to mention the weight but I just put one on a scale and it came in at 4.9lbs
Do you know how much of a difference the quick slide material is that only comes in white? it takes away a lot of the cool color designs if you have to have it.
I haven’t had a chance to try it yet but the carbon material slides SUPER well. If they had different color options I’d try it out but until then I’ve been super happy with the carbon
Yep! At least at the custom level. You can basically build your own core the same way in both the catalyst and hzrdus. At the retail level the two models have their own specific specs
@@BonesyTV I read they're 7 pounds each, which is insane, considering my Warrior G4 Pros are about 4 pounds each. I've seen other True pads at 6 pounds each too, which I have to say is crazy since a lot of other pads are around 4 to 5 pounds. I have a True 20.2 glove and blocker, but I wish True would bring that quality and make their stuff a bit lighter.
@bonesytv how tall are you and what is your True Floor-to-knee measurement? I am 6'1" and my FTK measurement, per True, is 19.5" th-cam.com/video/5WZdxHxvn6c/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=TRUEHockey - the video shows how to measure. I have CCM Premier II pads from 5 years ago that are 34" +1" but have heard that TRUE might run a little bigger than CCMs. I also land a little lower than what is ideal in the knee block in the CCMs. I am thinking about ordering 33" +2" in HZRDUS PX4. According to True's pad chart at 19.5" FTK, I should be in a 32" pad, which seems crazy for someone who is 6'1". I would appreciate your thoughts and great videos!
Colors look absolutely fire
Bones you did really good on this set. I just switched at 5:80 and it’s a game changer.
Nice man! Yeah I’m having fun trying out this new break angle
Sliver is just bangin. Nice accent to all the gear.
Man I’m so pumped about how that turned out

Don't think that is a issue .The NHL goalies aren't complaining

What are the toe ties you recommend I still use lace and want to try something new

Not a chance I could have said it any better. Perfect describes the feeling of getting those first few puck marks on a shiny new set
How do you keep your knee from dropping off of landing block without boot straps?
I used to wear my boot strap so loose that it didn’t even make a difference and with the FRS my knee lands in the same spot every time

Hey bonesy, what board angle do you have on your blocker? Regular or angle face?
Regular!
Bonesy 580 gang! This video was phenomenal, can't wait to hear your thoughts on the set itself!
ok KING
Is the yellow called "Sports Gold Boston" or the Neon Yellow?
It's the sport gold Boston option
Sickest set out there right now. Now you gotta get a new mask!
Pshhhhh you already know I have that in the works. Kyle Konin is on it 😏
So, knee rolls have no impact on flexibility or performance at this point, right? Like you can get an extremely stiff pad with knee rolls?

Should’ve gone L87, retro all day
If lefevre would do legit vertical rolls and shin strap I’m ALLLLLLL in on that
