Diamond pearl and platinum were my favorite, especially since they implemented the special and physical attacks split, which made some pokemon much more viable.

I’m currently playing Resident Evil: Village since he’s a fan of the series and I’m hoping to get him to do a Soul Link or Nuzlocke of a Pokémon game. I stumbled on this video through my recommendeds, and I’m SO glad I did. I enjoyed it so much that I binged through all the other “Made My Girlfriend Play” videos in a day, and they didn’t disappoint. The dynamic between you two is so playful and positive, and it’s a breath of fresh air!
Just when i thought its another wholesome video, *finch dies*. But wow, i gotta say, her team is actually not bad. Quite balanced. Theres the support, speedster, ones that hit hard and etc.
I was kinda hoping she'd comment on the absolutely bonkers music at some point. Music's always been kind of a great part of the Pokemon games and the insane drum shenanigans during the elite four battles are just such a great way to pump you up. I mean you single those drums out and you could fit them in a death metal track. Only thing I can hope for now is that we get a continuation, where she not only gets introduced to the fairy type, but also to the fact that attacks aren't just "fire", but also physical/special now. But for now I can only say congratulations. First nuzlocke can be tough, but she got through with surprisingly few losses and swept the elite four easily.
Wonderful video, I absolutely loved every moment! I just wish it was longer. I would have loved to see all the pokemon she caught or failed to catch. I would have easily watched an hour or two video of this
Damn, pushing her through a Nuzlocke was great. We used to play with friends where we would sync up our pokemon (if my first dies, so do my friend's first), it was absolute chaos and forced us to really push hard.
I did that too but with USUM and with my brother and with a randomizer. I got Kyurem as my starter but got screwed when the 1st Kahuna sent out Mega Diancie. We were so sad, because Kyurem died so my brother’s Mew got booted.
I really enjoyed the learning of the different types haha, I do the same thing she does! I always had the logic of "bug eats grass, bird eats bug, throw rocks at birds" in my mind as well. I've been playing pokemon since the beginning - I've played one of each mainline generation game, up to Scarlet/Violet as of recent. I still only remember half the type matchups at most. Sometimes its more fun to catch and level your friends than pushing all that battle info into your brain.

Idk if it helps her confidence to hear, but the way she works out the typings (bugs eat grass, birds eat bugs, birds die to rocks etc) is exactly how i remember them too. Mind over body = psychic beats fighting. I can fight sleep = fighting beats dark, muscle men crush rocks etc etc. You get the idea. Its extremely important to remember however best you can. And honestly logic can take you a long way in guess work (most of the time).
17:17 that's actually a pretty smart way to memorize it, there are some weird unexplainable match ups, like poison fighting interactions and other one way advantages/disadvantages, but that's still a solid way to face it
Loved seeing the movesets for the E4! Electrode with Spark and Swift, as well as Venasaur with Tackle. We really optimize these games way too much, it was refreshing watching someone brand new play the game.
This is making me feel so nostalgic. Pokemon was one of the first games i ever played and the joy and experience owning my first console is and will always be one of my greatest memories. I hope to one day share that joy with my nephews and future children.
It is a bit crazy to think about how even as a little kid, I had a general gist of type weaknesses overall (I first played Pokemon Firered when I was like 5 so I had an early start but still)

17:17 that's actually a pretty smart way to memorize it, there are some weird unexplainable match ups, like poison fighting interactions and other one way advantages/disadvantages, but that's still a solid way to face it

Loved seeing the movesets for the E4! Electrode with Spark and Swift, as well as Venasaur with Tackle. We really optimize these games way too much, it was refreshing watching someone brand new play the game.
Meanwhile, X has Deer, Y has Bird, and both have clothing options~

This is making me feel so nostalgic. Pokemon was one of the first games i ever played and the joy and experience owning my first console is and will always be one of my greatest memories. I hope to one day share that joy with my nephews and future children.
It is a bit crazy to think about how even as a little kid, I had a general gist of type weaknesses overall (I first played Pokemon Firered when I was like 5 so I had an early start but still)
