Nope, not true. You can easily get into a comparable pistol or better for less. My Prodigy was the same price as a CZ Shadow 2 OR, and the cost of getting the CZ all set up (real competitors don't shoot them stock, ask Ben Stoeger) was about the same as getting the Prodigy tweaked to being an overall better gun (yes I have shot them side by side). You can of course go even cheaper, but you will have more to do, but there are some guns that are ready out of the box like the Canik Rival S (fantastic shooter).
@@6793studentThe wild thing is that the OP probably hasn't shot guns that cost more than a Shadow 2, and they didn't even specify if they were shooting a stock or a modified S2. I've shot Atlas, Nighthawk, MPA, Staccato, Wilson Combat, Jacob Grey, and of course I have shot CZ including a cajunized CZ S2, a TS2 and a TSO along with a bunch of other guns. I still ended up going the modified Prodigy route after shooting a few of those, and now it has a trigger that rivals those big names, and it cost me about the same as a cajunized CZ Shadow 2.

most videos i’ve seen show the shadow 2 compact as having around a 2.5 to 3lb trigger once it’s been broken in from shooting. And at the store i couldn’t tell a difference from the shadow 2 and the compact
@ I have tried 3 different compact versions. They all break at least at 4 lbs single action, and the pull is longer than full size shadow. I have never experienced trigger pull going from 4 lbs to 2.5 lbs, unless the gun is defective. 0.5lbs after several thousands rounds. The frame is aluminum. Regular po1 with upgraded trigger would cost $600 + $250 = $850 and would make it the very similar gun. Heavy steel frame, short and light trigger pull, and full length barrel makes full size Shadow 2 significantly different. Compact version is pretty much the same as PO1 compact for more than double price. I skipped this gun. It is definitely not a Staccato C2 “killer” or even DWX compact. I own both of those guns, it’s not even close. If I would be a CZ fan I would buy full size shadow 100% but for EDC I would buy PCR or PO1 compact and upgrade the trigger if it’s so necessary.
