Very well done! Taking the time to improve the original model and upload a video as comprehensive as this one should not be taken for granted. Thank you so much :)
Thank you! I believe that I'll never learn everything it has to offer. Every time I find something new and usually it's something that would have saved me hours if I had known about it 😂
Thank you! Once I started, I went down the rabbit hole of iPhone dimensions and I honestly did not mean to put this much effort into this project 😅. lol.
Love that! I thought I now had to take a full, time consuming, course on Fusion 360 to make your 3D model usable for me. On top of learning Blender and FreeCAD, if that wasn't enough. But with that clear and useful tutorial I can do it without much hassle. Great work 🙂. Big thanks!
I love that you did the work to get this out!! Unfortunately, I'm having some trouble when trying to edit the parameters for my phone with a case. I keep getting error and 'model breaking' geometry issues...I'm very new to Fusion. I was hoping to get some help!...My 16 pro max with a case...dimensions are 176.5 x 88.75 x 15.75 (mm)...Thanks! *ADD* I'm using the 16 Pro Max V3 .f3d...idk what I'm doing wrong...
Thank you! I just appreciate people like you saying thank you. It makes me very happy! The boosts on Makerworld have gotten me gift cards to Bambu Lab. I didn't know what that was so that's really neat.
Hiya! AMAZING WORK HERE! I was editing the file and was able to change the phone area sizing just fine, but as you experience in your video around 24:25, I'm getting the error out on trying to add spacing to the top of the unit (above phone). It doesnt save any of the changes. Any idea how to continue?
Hey! I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier. If you haven't already found a solution or given up on me, I do know how to push the border further. I started recording a video to send to you and then 3 hours later I had a new youtube video 😅. If you do still need help on this, I hope my explanation helps and let me know if you have any problems! th-cam.com/video/jGH7pFUolFw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=m-b5CuPkMa44OF1V

This is great! I am trying to find a way to increase the clicker, because when my phone is in dock the clicker is not fully aligned with the top of the base.
Thank you! So is the clicker unlevel? Is it not long enough? Or are the arms that push the phone out too short? If you're still working on this, let me know which problem you are having. I think I can help you 😅
@@mollytt Sorry about the confusion in my previous message-looking back, it didn’t come out quite right! 😅 It seems the arms are slightly short in my print, by about 2.8mm, which creates a small "pit" at the top (not sure what else to call it). I was hoping to find a way to extend the arms of the clicker to make the top of the dock smooth. And since I am a noob at the Fusion, it is quite difficult to understand what's what 😆
YAY! That makes me really happy because the Magsafe slot has been the weirdest range of results from everyone😅. Thanks for letting me know and I'm glad it wasn't a waste of a 25h print!
I tried to measure my case corner radius and change it in parameter, but it doesn't seem make a difference in the actual model. Hopefully you can help me? great video btw
Hey! I'm so sorry. I'm not a seasoned youtuber and was not checking my notifications. If you still need help with this let me know! I'm not quite sure what your problem is since I can't see it but if you want to give me the exact dimensions you need, I can make a model for you. Thank you for using my file!
So when I first uploaded it, I uploaded the 3MF and the top comment is still the first person complaining that I didn't upload the right one in the right place. I still don't know why it uploads that way... But anyway, on MakerWorld, if you click the 'Download STL/CAD Files' button the top folder has 3 different sizes of the f3d file (which is the one you want). And then every phone folder also has the f3d files too :) makerworld.com/en/models/617129#profileId-556745
No, I'm sorry, I know I made this more confusing for everyone... On my table of measurements: I give you the measurements of the phone by itself (according to Apple) and those are in the green columns at the beginning. Then, I personally added .4 to each side for printer clearance/tolerance (I still don't know the right word to use here). On the phone's sides, since the buttons are usually .45 in height on each side, I'm adding .9 on top of the .4. All of those numbers are in the gold colored columns. If your printer is like mine (a rough Ender 3 V2), then you need that extra clearance. Some people know their printers clearance/tolerance from running print tests. So if you have that, use those numbers that your printer can do. For a case, it depends on your phone case. So what I would do (if you don't know your printers tolerance number), I would measure the phone case and add the .8 on top of it for length and height. Fake example: You measure your phone case to be 80mm x 120mm, then the parameters you are inputting is 80.8mm x 120.8mm. For the radius, honestly holding it up to the screen and adjusting it visually will probably be your best bet. Then, you should export, and print the test slice (the floating frame next to the main dock body) to check your fitting before you export and print the entire dock. I hope that makes sense? @@mollytt Thank you for the clarification on the sides. I'm a little confused on the charger front. I don't want mine falling out. Would it be the same 0.8mm clearance for the charger? I have the Apple Magsafe charger with a width of 55.9mm. Would that mean I would want 56.7mm total width? I'm also not sure on the depth of the charger. If I have a 5.3mm charger depth and want the metal is higher than the holder, would I want to have a slightly smaller depth? If so, by how much?
Thank you! I am finding that pros and industrial engineers seem to favor Solidworks. I'm going to try it soon but I have a feeling everything will be backwards and I'm dreading it lol.

Is-it possible to have original Fusion 360 file ? On website I can download only 3MF file. Thank you for your job !
