I can't believe you would go to all that trouble to make those cool draws and then stick the labels on wonky, that would keep me up at night lol
He’s paying homage to his messy desk self. It’s more authentic that way lol, lining up labels is too much work
This is why I came to the comments! I immediately was like nooo 😭
It's crazy to me. how there are people walking around this world where crooked labels don't bother them. Hahah
I had the same thought, but I'll admit I too sometimes put things on wonky because I know it won't be perfect and it'll bug me, so might as well embrace it and make it a feature not a bug
yeah... those label are horrid. but its sort of his theme to not do things correctly anyway.
it was awesome hanging out with you, bud!
awesome project as always. i always love satisfying organizational projects like these👏🏼
Thanks man! You too, let’s do it again
Those wonky labels are just there for all the ocd people to comment and feed the algorithm. Like I do. Please fix it!
True 🎉
Ha! This sponsorship makes perfect sense. More sense than any sponsorship in the history of TH-cam sponsorships. I’m glad Bambu labs finally came to their senses. 😁
I got the Bambu A1 mini a couple months ago after being inspired by creators like you and Scott Yu-Jan, and it has been amazing. It's wonderful to be able to easily create physical solutions to problems that have been irking me. The ability to make anything your mind can come up with is really wonderful.
Every video this dude makes all has a certain aura of satisfaction. The production level is incredible, the builds are satisfying, the editing that enhances the builds, the whole objective of the video. All seems to just work
That is awesome to hear!! ❤️
I printed a big drawer for my buddy’s camper and instead of overhanging handles for the drawer I put two holes in the front of the drawer that you could put your thumb and index finger through to grab the drawer. Lower profile and lighter weight.
I currently live in Oregon and its super nice here. I love seeing your journey as you go. ty for being here Morley :)
A trick I like for large interlocking parts, especially if you have room to make a chamfer, is a 3D pen. Great for PLA bonding! In my tests my old-iteration parts shredded themselves before the bond even broke. It's more like adding a manual seam, but is also pretty satisfying to lay a clean bead.
cool video! but why didn't you stick the stickers for the drawers on straight!?
Hahaha in hindsight I should’ve integrated tracks to perfectly slip the labels in straight, but alas, I am imperfect
He knew what he was doing.
It's the Casey Neistat form of organization chaos.
I now have ocd
Maybe a cargo net type mesh could go above these to hold your bags and soft things in while you go in and out of that space? Awesome content as usual.
You can store buildplates for the printer next to, or under the printer
For the misaligned drawer a tiny hand plane would be very useful. I have one that's about 5cm long that is amazing for those kinds of 'adjustments'.
I don't know how I ended up on this side of TH-cam but I'm loving it and I also like the ASMR you did while organizing
I have been using a soldering iron to bond prints together and for me, it is one of the best solution because the bong is nearly instant
Great job Morley- glad you had a good time with John
Thanks Steve!
Love the CA Glue drawer... TotalBond baby!!
What an awesome storage upgrade! It's so needed when living in a small space!
this video convinced me into buying a new 3D printer previously I had the CR-10 V1 the first creality budget printer, thanks to the sale I saved 200€ on a P1S it should be arriving next week and I'm very excited to test it
This has been a very elaborate plan to hang out with Cam and his denim furniture
some of the drawers being purple is a nice touch 👌
It might be helpful to add a lip above the drawers so that the larger things that go on top like your camera can’t slide against the cabinet door on a really rough road and fall out as well. The weight and friction probably holds that stuff well, but could be a quick solution that lets you stack those items up there quick and easy and secure.
You can make slits in a way that you can cut cardboard to slide and save a ton of plastic !! We always have way too much cardboard !! Its like 3d edge reinforced cardboard cabinet system !
What a great video I’ve never had a 3D Printer and suck at technology but I’ve watched a few videos now on these printers and I’m really thinking about getting one as they keep saying how easy they are to use. Thanks for sharing as always. Great job on all the stuff you made.
Great job on the video! I’m glad you don’t have to deal with unorganized messes anymore
I absolutely love your videos! Every time you release a new one, it truly brightens my day. Thank you for your amazing content and the joy you bring into my life!
Great video ! similar to a current project I'm working on, thanks for the motivation to finish it!
We have Zack Freedman's Gridfinity... Now we have Morley Kert's Bin-finity.
Only Morley can make such a great and interesting video about printing some drawers. 😄 👍👍
Honestly wasnt expecting the very short Cam Cameo, seen youtubers like Foureyes, John Maleki and others speak about their interactions before, glad to see Morley still has a connection there even though he stepped away from woodworking :)
Who’s stepped away from woodworking? I’m just getting started 😉
@@MorleyKert glad to hear it! just havent seen any woodwork videos since you transitioned to full time van life (2 year plan if I am remembering correctly).
Must be great to make whatever you need. I'd make tons of kitchen storage for every item in my kitchen. 😉
That's awesome you got to see Scott. Great video!!!!
It surprises me, that the x1c works on the drive...
I am more of a prusa guy and now i want to try my Mk4 out in my camper-van 😂
One tip i have, invest in some larger SSD's that replace your HDD's. Or store them somewhere stationary.
Those dirt roads are NOT kind to mechanical hard drives, even though theyre portable hard drives rated for more vibrations etc.
Agree with this - SSD's are more durable, are faster and even use less power (perfect if you rely on solar)
I would love to see you install something to keep the cabinet doors open rather than using your head every time. They do make cabinet door struts or I also saw someone who used 3M hooks attached to the ceiling that they hook around a cabinet door handle. Can't wait to see if you come up with another solution as well.
7:40 Tablesaw? Ever heard of sandpaper?
You hung out with Scott!? That’s amazing
Yeah he’s a great guy! Looking forward to hanging out more
@@MorleyKert I would LOVE to see a collab between you two!
This was a great video! Using 3d printing to solve problems.
Okay, I'm not particularely OCD (that is, not at all), my own DIY drawers have wonky paper labels clipped on with 3D printed clips, and... when I saw his sideways labels I read some comments and chuckled "man these wonky labels are so funny" - but then he stuck the "SD cards and pens" one OFF THE BIN and cut it off with a tiiiny half cut piece STILL HANGING AT THE SIDE, and then go on to say "I cannot tell you how good it feels to have this organized" with ALL THE WONKY LABELS STABBING MY RETINA AT ONCE - and that recorded in gorgeously framed and lit assembly shots... if it was done on purpose you are a genius far beyond my power level, and if it wasn't - please get some help, I don't know which kind of help but being unbothered by THAT labeltrocity can't be human
😂😂😂 all I can say was, it wasn’t intentional
Always nice to see a Leatherman Skeletool out in the wild. Cheers.
Man, i love this man. I am from România, i like what you do, RESPECT💪👍
I just bought a a1 this morning for my first printer, cant wait for it to arive and i wont have to use my friends anymore
Thanks for another fun and interesting video! I've had home 3D printers since before most people even heard of 3D printers, and every single printer I have owned has been an absolute nightmare of contestant problems.... Until I got the X1C about 8 months ago.
There still can be issues here and there, as with any tech, but this is a dream in comparison. The user experience is so much better, and the print quality and speed is so impressive, I can't bring myself to use any of my other printers any more.
With your tight tolerances on the drawers, you probably don't have room for it, but one thing to keep in mind for designing drawers, is you may want to design in space for ""UHMW polyethylene tape". A bit of that on any area that the drawer rubs against while being in motion will give you a wonderfully smooth glide. Also, I don't remember if you mentioned what plastic you printed it in, but PETG is less "grippy" than PLA, and way less grippy than ABS. So if you don't use the tape to cut down on friction, PETG is a better choice than most common printing plastics.
Those are some awesome ideas!
mount the door to the cabinet on the bottom so it folds down and put a latch on the top so it doesn't open, this will prevent things from falling out of the cabinet, or move your camera gear somewhere else and put something light in there, i suggest pillows........
Your van is so cool 😃
Hyper organized makers @1:45 I know Zach Freedman and Adam Savage but the other two are unknown to me.
Your van with integrated printer make me think of the semi-recent Lost in Space Netflix show. Pretty much living in a spaceship.
Van Neistat and Scott Yu Jan
huh. I was not expecting a Cam from Blacktail studios cameo in this video, lol. One of my favourite maker youtubers.
GOOD JOB!
This is my favorite video of yours so far
Very nice video so satisfying to see the cupboards become tidy
you did it morley. you made me clean my desk while watching this video. now I won't know where anything is.
1:48 - Yes Morley, good self awareness haha
I always enjoyed a good tidying up, awesome video!
Great Job Morley!!!
nice build. It's funny how the solution to organisation inside of a drawer is a bunch of boxes, and the solution to organisation inside a cupboard (a big box) is a bunch of drawers :P
One tip, whenever you have an overhang like for the lip to pull the drawers out, that will normally end up needing support material, try to think of a way to use 45 degree angled geometry to create ledges to then print off of. If you had put two inverted 45 degree triangular pyramid shapes "growing " out of both sides of the front face, maybe an extra one or two evenly spaced out between them as well, these could have then allowed you to put the lip on top of them, bridging between them, to create the drawer pull handles and not needed any support material. They would also make the handle much stronger, like how injection moulded plastic would have ribs built under a front handle like that.
Most people that know how to 3D Print haven't mastered orientation and support settings (or not needing support at all)
I'd get rid of that up-swinging door higne and make it pull-out drawers. To retain that bed plate organizer, you have to split the door into 2.
Cool solution for sure. If your ca glue doesn’t leak in that orientation I’ll be switching brands
It indeed doesn’t! TotalBoat total bond (link in description)
Cool video. Way to go and just organize it :)
Is there a reason for the skinny flat drawer to be *inside* of that sliding platform and not just underneath it?
I guess you might risk having some stuff inside rub against the top of the platform when you pull it out but it seems to me like you could do without that extra bottom piece of plywood.
Anyway, like the overall style of your van, especially plywood and that lovely green color!
Just the way my brain works! I think your idea could work great as well. Thanks for watching!
Move the hinges to the bottom of your cabinet doors.
From one messy desk guy to another, chuffed to see you make this accomplishment happen. Congrats
Is this mumbo jumbo's alt?
@@Agoosemanoose who? 😅 Sorry no... just a regular bloke.
Great job with the labels
5:56 Finally someone that bothers actually fixing a 3d print rather than just reprinting it again
My dudes…use elastic cargo netting on the ceiling space for bulky bags and such!
Such a big fan of these vids man, been binging all weekend
I FREAKING LOVE 3D PRINTING ORGANIZERS! Great vid as always bud. Get some gloop though. So much better than CA glue. Also, so jealous you met Cam! Love his channel. And Scott too? Dude when are you visiting Israel?
Thanks man! I’ll get out there one of these days. What’s the advantage of gloop?
Printer in a van = instant sub!
The OCD community is going into a tailspin right now with those labels. Brilliant move! 😂😂😂
😂😂
How to get engagement 101 😂
Wow this is my first time seeing this channel! Glad to see you over here too! Haha
Yes the labels are a smart/nice touch to the OCD community!
@@Nailedityt yes! Welcome to the family
I agree lol
Love the drawers systems you created, I gotta be honest though, I probably would have just screwed a stretchy net into it and called it a day :)
Hey Morley! Great video and great project as always! Weird question: I’m dying to know what the outro music is, can you tell me? 😅 much love!
That thumbnail is awesome!
Great video! It would be cool if the tech could charge inside!
Thanks! There is a charging port inside the first cabinet, next to the bus bars, but not inside the drawers
There is OCD and there is being picky. If you suffer from OCD it’s not just about something not being neat and straightened. OCD is and can be horrific to endure. It’s 2024, can we at least google what something is before we wildly say we have it and we’re just occasionally picky.
I think magnets on top of the van would be practical to hold the drawer when opening.
u have no idea the impact of the title alone, what i've been thru the past 4 or 5 years, after a hurricane. this chaos. the items all around me like piles of atoms. it's killing me. not kinda, not figuratively. actually. physically now. mentally. i got an auto somatic response and choked up a little reading the title. i hope there's an answer. for all of us not just me and you in this vid. my 3rd of yours i'm watching now. lets goo
The open wires in the enclosures especially with the clothes gave me anxiety, how about atleast some round cable channels? Also the small parts in the printed boxes look like they will rattle a lot, maybe add a thin layer of a cushion material like foam?
Amazing!
Would love to get your support settings. Lol. I struggle with my supports lately.
Just default tree supports in Bambu studio!
Glad to see I'm not the only weirdo using the Beats Fit Pro! How are you finding them?
Love em!
Oh Morley your brain never stops 😅 Does your brain ever rest 😅 Love all these ideas you come up with. ❤
Its always a good day when Morley posts
bruh i want to paint my room but there's so much mess and furniture in here but now after seeing your video... just do it!
I'd get tired of holding the cabinet doors open with one hand all the time. You could install some pneumatic openers on the inner sidewalls, I think there still might be enough space for that.
You are killing me with these labels man 😂
I love these videos! Very inspiring to see this kind of content
thanks for watching!
didnt want to make a gridfinity system but for the second area he builds like a big gridfinity like system :D
If u really want to test the printer on the road, come to south africa, anything that is outside of the major cities and off the highways is mostly undriveable
Print handles at the bottom of the front with 45 degree angle, then you do not need support for the handle
My heart has stopped seeing HDDs on a topmost drawer on the drawer under ceiling
You’re living my dreams
You get to meet the coolest people i swear 😂
PSA: crayons make 3d prints slide together SMOOTHLY. they come in a bunch of colors, obviously. I like to use white crayon on grey so i see where i have applied, but color matching works the same
I'm horrified after watching you glue on the labels that crooked..
You're travelling in PNW? Are you going to be near Eugene OR by chance? If so, I'd love to get together.
I love your cat morley
Based on the way that the print failed at 14:55 in your video, it looks like you're having issues with layer adhesion. Bambu printers are known for going too fast and out running the hot end, giving you great print times, but poor layer adhesion and weaker parts. Might be something to look into. :) That being said, love your videos, only recently found your channel. If I ever hit the point where I can live the van life, I'm bringing my printer with me. In the mean time, I enjoy living vicariously through your videos.
AGH, the crooked labels. Your killing me. lol
Vivitar?! Wow!
Is Vivitar a notable brand?
Ensure “reduce infill retraction” is turned OFF in Bambu slicer for the A1. It is turned on my default and it will cause toppling issues where there wouldn’t be otherwise.
The setting reduces retraction when traveling over infill, causing buildups and not enabling Zhop for that travel move. Big oops!
good job, but for me feels weird to store fragile stuff on top shelfs, mostly use only bottom ones. any way, love your videos
17:20 can you please tell me which song that is? 😄
I hope you and Cam make a more comprehensive collaboration 😤😤😊
Me too!
