Being told to “find someone” to give you an I.V is the stupidest thing I have heard for awhile. I’m glad you sorted it out. I think I would have cried. I know complaints are exhausting but I think it’s warranted. I’m glad you’re enjoying life despite the medical stuff
Never in my 30 years of nursing “go find someone” I would have lost it.
That’s very unprofessional
So much for patient advocacy. The US may be FAR from perfect, but I doubt someone would tell you to roam the halls to find yourself someone to start your IV 🤦🏻♀️
@Asspats and superchats yes! We are so micromanaged I would be fired right on the spot.
Don't they have a PA (public address) system, to call someone to the area for you??? Sounds crazy
I’m sorry to see yet another hospital mess up for you, but I think you handled it very admirably, and thank goodness the person seemed to do a good job at putting the IV needle in. I wish you get the best possible results and that you remain healthy for many years to come. Hugs and best wishes.
I'm not from your country but a year ago my brother in law was waiting on a double lung transplant. He was in hospital waiting on tests, one was a scan on his lungs, he was told someone would come for him at 5pm, they didn't so he kept waiting. At nine a doctor came into his room shouting at him that he should have made his own way, found an elevator and went to the area. He could hardly walk 10 steps to the toilet 😢😢 sending you love ❤️❤️
I'm also still stuck on the fact that the person at the front desk would tell you to go find someone in the hall way of the hospital and ask them!?! That's ridiculous
Romee you are looking so healthy and just beautiful inside and out. I can't get over how cute your hair looks. I think iam happiest when you put a video out. Always makes my day to see your smiling face. It sucks that the Hospital makes so many mistakes no one should be sick and then subject to error after error. Makes me pissed off on your behalf but you always handle it in such a positive way. Makes me want to do better in my life. Iam hoping and praying that you get a good result. I have 3 children a 32yr old daughter, 30yr old son and 28yr old daughter. I feel such a soft spot for you because I can't imagine one of them going through this and it breaks my heart to see you so young and full of life going through this. That is absolutely absurd that they would tell YOU to find someone to do the iv! What kind of hospital is that?!?!?!?

No wonder Radiology wondered what you were doing walking around looking for someone to place an IV. This should be brought to someone’s attention. Unexceptable.

WOW the fact that you had to go in search of someone for the IV is unacceptable, specially a person with a major illness who has been waiting 2 months for a crucial test. I understand that your stress level must be at an all-time high (thank God you had Jeffrey with you) but the hospital needs to know their mistake is unacceptable, I can only imagine how many other people have had to go through the same thing as you.💔
When wearing the black dress, the black heels looked fabulous. The white stuck out too much in my opinion. As far as your appointments, maybe calling the day before to confirm that you have appointments so it’s fixed before you get there. You look great by the way!
Oh boy last thing you needed in that situation was additional stress of the hospital making that mistake. At least you had good end to your day going to dinner with your friend. There's nothing like having a good support system which you fortunately have. Reminds me that we can all chip in sometimes to help someone who's feeling down or having a hard time by doing even simple things like listening to them over a bowl of ice cream

Romee, You handle all of the BS with the hospital with grace, perseverance, and brains and I have a good feeling about this scan. You look amazing in the red dress 💃and your hair looks great pulled back. So glad you got a nice dinner gifted to you and had fun with your friend. You deserve it! 😻🥰

The care you have received from start to finish has been terrible, even worse than in the UK and that is saying something. I can't believe they made you find someone to put your iv in. That is just awful. You are so strong and have dealt with this illness so well. So happy your cancer free 😁

I've never heard of finding your own IV nurse. I thought government healthcare was supposed to be so good. But I hated getting CT PET scans....and the wait for results was brutal. Good luck!
It is very good. But of curse is not 100% perfect. Some times they mess up.

My daughter was finally diagnosed with MS during the first year if covid after I literally took her into A/E and refused to leave until they scanned her ( she had literally gone blind).
Its been one mess up after another for over two years- what can go wrong, no apology. When you are ill you shouldn't have to self_advocate, but that's the world now it seems.
You have to keep in mind they are employees with smart phones and tick-tock/IM/YT accounts of their own. They lead busy lives vlogging, too! We can’t expect them to ask, “How high?” when we say, “Jump!” 😂
I’m constantly fighting with the VA since 1992 just needing to get treated like a patient with legitimate medical issues. I digress…

I had a very similar experience also with an MS diagnosis during covid. I saw 7 doctors in 6 days because I was not going to give up figuring it out. I couldn't walk unassisted because of the way my vision was impacted and how badly my cerebellum was attacked. I'm a medical student and Kinesiologist so I'm coming up with some pretty cool ways to manage many of the symptoms, send me a DM on Instagram if you/ your daughter would like to connect.

OMG...wtf? Yes...always advocate for yourself. You are the most adorable, sweetest girl! Your smile lights up this world...wherever you are, I bet. I’m 74 yrs old and the unpredictabilities of life have almost caused me to give up....but I’m still here. From the time I was a little child...nothing has turned out the way I thought it would. Long story....it continues to not go the way I plan...but I’ve adapted and changed and evolved as I have no other choice. Not giving up yet.
You always appear so ‘put together’ and calm and organized. You’ve been thru enough...you need some contentment and gratitude...and yet....you always seem to portray those traits. You’re a survivor..keep smiling..you have a gorgeous smile.

Hi Romee, I am also being treated for cancer I have invasive ductal carsinoma (breast cancer) the hospital I have my treatment at made a huge mistake a couple of days ago, I was scheduled for a bone marrow biopsy but was having a hard time finding out why but I trusted my oncologist, while I was on my way to the hospital the doctors office called and said I didn't need to have it done that it was a mistake omg I was angry and scared about such a big mistake. I know the mistakes are stressful and I am glad you have such a good attitude and handled it so well 🙂

I wish that I had the support from friends and family like you do. I loved taking care of my parents, and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Trouble is, that my husband and children don't have the same level of commitment for me. They're clueless when it comes to helping advocate for my health. I am hopeful that things are fixable, but I am exhausted trying to advocate for myself. Advocating is not for everyone, and if God calls me home, maybe I can still watch over my family from above❤

I am glad to hear you actually got the PET scan. So sorry to hear that you had to find someone to put in your IV. Not only was it their mistake that they didn’t book it but to ask you to find someone to do it is crazy to me.

Uggh! Hospital screw ups. I was getting a pre op for a surgery. I had a cat scan then they came for me again for another cat scan. I questioned it. They had the wrong patient and I was already lying down on the Cat scan table. So frustrating! I pray all will be well!!!. Your hair at that length and curl is adorable!!

Wat akelig! Ik heb zelf met diak en umc wel een goede ervaring tot nu toe. (Sta nu op de wachtlijst voor een open hart operatie). WKZ met onze kinderen soms ook heel veel gedoe in de communicatie. Maar damn, zelf opzoek gaan naar iemand die een infuus kan zetten is wel heeel weird. Stay strong. En je ziet er trouwens goed uit!
