I'll agree, the first movie was BORING! The first book wasn't much better; However a lot of the first book was the female characters thoughts, there wasn't much dialogue between characters in either the book or the movie. I feel like in the first movie Ana should've done a voice over, or something, like she was reading from her diary. The audience who did not read the books would've definitely understood it better. The other 2 books were full of drama, suspense AND dialogue between characters. I read in a previous comment, that they are using a different director for the next 2 movies. Hopefully it's better than the first.

When you've read the book and you know what happens
Honestly nothing interesting... But spoilers ahead...
All of the billionaires ex fuck-buddies come back and try to ruin his relationship with Anastasia through various boring plot lines. The fuck buddies include a psycho chick who doesn't even turn out to be dangerous(a whole lot of drama for no pay off) and a fifty something year old paedophile women, who took the billionaire fuckboy under her tit and taught him to be the abusive little sadist that he is (again this sounds way more interesting that it actually is, mostly they just talk about their feelings, no interesting details about the relationship are revelled, just a whole lot of alluding to things).
Then the final climax ends on a pro gun message as Anastasia's boss tries to rape her, cause you know the author wants the reader to know that she's got that irresistible hot girl cred that rapists can't resist. Anastasias confrontation with her rapey boss is the most action in the whole series and it's over within like 10 pages and again nothing actually happens, just more near misses and a lot of what ifs.
The series ends with them getting married and having children because you know this is a fan-fiction of a series that based all of it's values off the Mormon religion.

I think maybe it was supposed to show a parallel to who Christian could have been? Or maybe that's over estimating the writer and her ability to create meaningful nuance surrounding her characters.

Hi everyone, I have found full leaked version of Fifty Shades Darker, so I though it would help you. I've just watched it and I am fascinated. The best part of film is from 43 to 47 minute, I got goosebumps watching that! It might be the the best film recently made. Version which I found is pretty good quality of sound and video (720p, but I'm not sure). Also, there are added German, Romanian and Dutch subtitles. I've watched it via upper link.

You really should read the first book first. It introduces everything. That's the main point to the first. There's not really a storyline to the first, but it just shows you how damaged Christian is because of his past and this second one brings the characters into a new light from the 1st one. It's best to just read all, otherwise you'll be confused.

I tried to read the first one. Tried. After 130 pages (right after their first love scene which was a depiction of a 40 year old virgin's fantasy) I stopped. Not because I got disappointed in sex that apparently this book tries to sell. But because the writing and the characters were so bad that I literally felt my braincells dying off in mass quantities.

I understand that people who have less knowledge about Fifty Shades tend to have a negative notion regarding the movie because the story almost revolves about sex. But if you'll dig deeper into the story and read the trilogy, you will fully comprehend why Christian Grey and the movie is like that. It's not just some intense and steamy sex for show. It has substance. I wish some people would know first before they criticize. Fifty Shades is a very good movie and a great trilogy.

That's not why people hate it. People hate it because it is downright offensive to anyone who actually lives or knows anything about BDSM lifestyles, plus the fact that it started life as a poorly written Twilight fan fiction and never really improved from there. I mean, people criticize GRRM for being overly wordy and getting bogged down describing irrelevant minutia, but he is infinitely more readable than this trash. As for substance, I don't see it, but that is probably because I couldn't make it past the terribly written dialogue and poorly realized characters long enough to see this supposed substance. As for the movie, uninventive, boring direction coupled with bland watered down sex scenes between two people with little chemistry isn't what I would consider exciting, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
